Ezranadir speaks up saying, "We are playing right into this gargoyle/vampire's hand. He knows this territory and its hazards. We should go back to his lair where the coffins are and compile a plan and wait for his return. Blindly trying to find him we are just weakening ourselves further thus making it easier for him to pick us off at his choosing. Again, we waited too long and time is not on our side. We still have not completed our original goal for being here."

Since the indicators of the "attack" on Nasir are supernatural, Frantino tries to figure out what caused it and if the area can now be safely traversed.

Frantino mulls over Ezranadir's comments. "We did get some information from the gargoyle before he attacked us, he told us that the cult had headed to Riddleport. While this creature is a threat, I'm still feeling very weak and wouldn't mind avoiding him if we can help it. Maybe we can do a quick search through some additional areas to find more information, perhaps confirm the vampire's information, and then leave. It sure seems like the cultists aren't here right now, and stopping the plague is the mission."

Replying to Frantino, "The gargoyle/vampire is definitely a threat and needs to be taken out as he can inflict the plague with his claw not to mention there is still a half-transformed wretch/monster inflicted with the plague the winged demon showed the drunkards we rescued located somewhere to the southwest (A4 I believe it was stated). The cult is the least of our worries at the moment, and we cannot afford to be twittering our fingers in indecision or another round of leaving to heal as either of them infect other things. The gargoyle/vampire can fly out into the city at any time if he so chooses. This thing Nasir encountered can be avoided or dealt with at a later time after the plague-infested here are dealt with."

Frantino puts two and two together, realizing it is very similar to things seen in Roderic's Mansion outside Roderic's Cove. It is a haunt, the psychic legacy left over from long past.

Such things will frequently explode upon those who trip them, like a trap, and then slowly regenerate. Frantino can't really tell how long it will take to reset. One minute? One day?

Haunts can cause physical damage, but only if a person believes that it is happening. (i.e. fail a will save}

Unsure if it will work but aware of the time limit on her treated arrows, Ayita casts guidance on herself and aims - as best she can - at the center of the noise, and shoots one. She doesn't know enough about haunts but hopes for some effect.

arrow shot: 1d20 + 11 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 11 - 2 + 1 = 21

arrow damage: 1d8 + 5 + 2d4 ⇒ (1) + 5 + (1, 4) = 11
