Kozzemo wrote:Me'mori tickles your fancy sounds good, but what about a hybrid Minotaur Scholarly Investigator(Empiricist) thus you can also create a bit of both ideas. Further the Scholarly part would tie well into Dakaal*looks askance of the GM with starry eyes*
Uhm . . . you do know that Minotaurs might have a level adjustment, right?
Storm Dragon |
There's a reasonably powerful 3pp Minotaur race that might be preferable to the RP 30-something Minotaur.
Me'mori |
There is this Racial Class that might fit the bill for removing that LA, if it suits?
Though to be honest, the Racial class would be offset by the Player class 2:1 at least...
*considers* What motivates a Minotaur Scholar... Hmmmm...
Professor Dakaal |
We also have an option between the 30 RP version and the 11RP samurai Sheepdog version.
20 RP minotaur It retains large size, if that's interesting.

Investigator(Sleuth). Half-Orc, most likely.
I'll skip the extra bells and whistles, as there's no magic there, and keep it simple. I'll swap aliases over to Mira, and build from the original rules. The professor and School as a hook, a chance to use the knowledge is the motive, and the internal motive is competition.
Kozzemo |
Yeah with the restructing of the group it might be good to also know who is actually present in this meeting by having our esteemed Professor go about addressing each person individually. I know two of the charaters Kozzemo and his brother but I believe the other two have altered into some other folks causing some character's to become NPCs that are now bowing out of this expedition. That is if we are to keep continuity intact.
Kozzemo |
Okay I might be wrong but it sounded like to me that both you (Storm Dragon) and Me'mori were changing the basics of their characters?
Which if wrong would be a good reason to know what characters are still here Dakaal and I (Kozzemo) are both using our character identities to post within this thread so we all know these have not changed but I do not believe there was a PC named Me'mori nor a PC named Storm Dragon. So perhaps this as lended to my confusion.
Kozzemo |
No I think you might have misread that. The airship to point B versus a watership to point B I believe was that discussion as the airship was never going to go past point B and in fact regardless of the mode we chose to get to point B we would still need a different mode to get to point C which while not our destination will be much closer to it. So in fact our destination is point D -- which we can use the flyers to get to without per se needing to stop a point C other than maybe to make a pit stop along the way and depending on the actual distance we might need to make more than one pit stop.
Storm Dragon |
I'm still honestly not convinced of the value of skipping from point B to D if the rest of the expedition team still needs to make the whole trip, honestly.
Aren't we supposed to be setting up an archaeological dig? We assume at least in-character that this is not just going to be a dungeon crawl handled exclusively by four people, there's actual logistics that need to be considered.
Storm Dragon |
That's info I'm curious about as well. I'd been under the impression that Klarn had planned the expedition, but I may be wrong. Is the funding he was talking about our personal "security fund" or is that the total expedition fund, and we're meant to be recruiting people, taking care of supplies, etc.?

A few potential emergency/generally useful items:
-Traveler's Anytool
-Salve of the Second Chance and Scroll of Reincarnation (if anybody can cast the latter; these two are a unit)
-Oil of Gentle Repose
-Small, all-terrain pack animal of some kind (mule, giant lizard, etc.)
--A human hireling who can serve the same purpose

Wait I am not understanding something the elemental of the 4 that were conjured who suffered no damage from the trip wire what happened to it as far as I know nothing hit it nor damaged it and that is the one with Uwe -- the other 3 with Zen'Zot, Mara, and Karita were the only elementals to get damaged??
Zen'Zot Oremite |
Okay to clarify:
Mara summoned 4 elementals, sent one with Uwe and the other 3 ahead of the rest of us.
The 3 elementals tripped a trap and took some damage, the one with Uwe did not trip the trap and thus took no damage.
Something happened or something was misunderstood and the elemental with Uwe has been eliminated (see the map). Thus my question. Because as far as I am aware no damage has occurred on the elemental with Uwe so why was it eliminated??

Now I'm confused, are you sure you summoned the four elementals with this game?

I'm here– and willing— my difficulty is that the adventure was spoilered before it began, so the initial joy for discovery and mystery was absent, and those developments are often what propel a game out of the opening stages as characters find their feet, connections develop, etc... The other part that gave me difficulty was that things were mapped out OOC, rather than the conversations happening IC, but that's my preference. I acknowledge that it isn't everyone's.
If we're looking at a posting time basis? Call it.
Posting does not feel like this story is gaining momentum, and I fully recognize and accept my part in that. That's why Mira is somewhat bumbling around and serving as a resource, rather than a motivator.
