Additionally, their ac is super high.
Can everyone please check their boons on your characters? We need some new ideas!!

Okay! I found a boon that lets me cast invisibility.
He goes out this round.

Toral, if you can, take the total defense option. It is only a move action to direct the hammers. Plus if you stay in the stairwell doorway, you should get some benefit from at least partial cover. Can you misfortune the archers too? That would help with the attacks. I plan to get in front of the tunnel opening. I still have a few lay on hands left. If your circle of protection from evil still up. It is a long spell if I remember. I thought you cast it before we headed out. That would maybe help with AC too. I can't remember but it does not stack with rings of protection.

Oh yes, I had totally forgotten about the circle. I think I have to recalculate some of those arrow hits.
Will do tomorrow.

Which way out of the building is town? Do we leave the North west corner or the south side? I can't remember from the battle beginning which way we came from.

By now you've probably worked out their priorities.
*Toral and Fox,
*Anything flying
*Anything with a ranged weapon
*Whatever is left.
They seem to hold off doing much until Toral and Fox pop up which draws a big response, and the rest of you they seem largely happy to brush off as mostly unimportant (until you pull out a bow and become a priority again)
So as long as Toral and Fox stay out of sight you can probably just get out of town.

Thanks for the run GM!!! ;-)

Indeed, it's been a while since last i nearly went lights out.
List of things fox has an aversion to:
- giant snakes
- flying enemies with magic missile and bows

Shifty |

They really didn't like peek-a-boo flying foxes or icestorm throwers either.
It was a tough fight for sure, they are intelligent creatures with their own caster, and you had triggered both encounters so it was a real challenge from there. Once they worked out who was who, and what capability you had to reach out and touch them they just stuck to their strengths and had their hit list of priorities.
Will update the sheets in 12 hours.

Well, back when we started all this I considered bringing my 5th level fire element sorcerer. He is a wimp, but has all the right tools to have made that fight a victory. This fight was very frustrating. I hate that they got away. It also is the second longest that I have had in PFS play. Orst was in the longest also. Both with very challenging terrain. It took 34 rounds, in Scenario 3-26, to catch a wizard and 2 archers across a series of 5 rope bridges. But this was regular face to face.
I think from now on Orst will carry a potion of fly and a potion of shield. Fox had the right idea with sunder their bows. We just needed the two paladins flying and smiting.
Thanks for the run thru. It was fantastic! 500 plus posts is incredible! I think the module I ran did not even have 400. The maps were great, too. Just awesome the whole way through!
Well that is surely a tough act to follow. I think I can get the "The Rebel's Ransom" up on Monday. And, it will not take 500 posts if I can help it.

I thought I was flying under the radar, but I started my thread and had three posts to it almost immediately. For those of you that are able, please feel free to follow this link to the Rebel's Random recruitment thread.
GM Wydroe's Run of The Rebel's Ransom
Hopefully this works as expected.
Thanks all.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

3-26 was a classic, and yes that ending can get way out of hand.
This one was tough for sure, some flying smiting paladins would have certainly caused some serious problems!
Even the damaged bow incurring a -2 to hit and damage made a significant impact.
Honestly the most fun was playing the cursed objects :)
