Liberty's Edge

Hey Rainzax! I've enjoyed being one of your players in the past, and expect this to be no different. I'm putting together a human ganzi magus.

I have a few questions about access to some Uncommon options:

1) The ganzi heritage, obviously
2) The crushing weapon property rune
3) A ring of wizardry (type i)

Thanks!

Grand Lodge

Thinking of a Ifrit or Kitsune Hermit Oracle, using her knowledge more to help the rest of the team, like a sort of wise coach.

Hat-Trick here, settled on my hatchet throwing dwarf. Got a build set up in pathbuilder, not quite sure how to transfer it onto the forums, and not sure I can adapt it to allow for the Ancestry Paragon rules. Might have to pencil in the extra feats manually if I understand correctly?

Professor Plum here.

Meet Billy: the Attention Addict, halfling bard. His metallic gold sheen is typical of his Aphorite heritage, the people from the Axis plane (if this is allowed).

The only person he loves more than himself is Hao Jin, who's spent so many years on Axis. He dreams of traveling there. He honestly can't believe his luck. Hao Jin has actually returned!

The poor misguided bard believes a good showing might earn him a date. He's clearly too starstruck to worry about the minor age gap. He takes out a mirror and fusses with a lock of golden hair that isn't cooperating.

Character Sheet here on Paizo is largely done. Still working out details of spells, gear, etc. I currently have him built with a Medic dedication to help with healing. If chosen, I'm willing to rework it if we have that covered by others.

Azlan Silmani is the first of my character proposals. He is almost finished as an alias. He is a Suli Barbarian (White Dragon Instinct) (Wizard)

Azlan Silmani:
Azlan was born to a wealthy Tian Dan merchant after a passionate affair with a charming geniekin in Katapesh whilst on a trade mission. His mother had high hopes of him being like her – only more successful thanks to his powerful heritage. He was nothing but a disappointment. He never managed to be successful at anything. He was an introverted child who liked to dream of becoming a mighty sorcerer.

At the end of his teenage years, a charismatic wizard convinced him to join his cult with promises of teaching him to become a powerful mage like him. It was all a lie. He was groomed by the wizard and his acolytes, who knew of his unusual background and wanted to experiment on him. After 18 months in the cult, they performed a ritual, and he was persuaded to drink a mystery draught.

He still doesn’t know quite what happened, but when he came around, he was the only one left alive. Everyone else was frozen, charred, crackling with lightning or worse. He took the wizard’s things and ran away. He took up adventuring and learned to control his powers to a certain extent. He also started to study properly and is beginning to master the art of wizardry. He will make his mother proud one day.

Azlan is a quiet barbarian, intelligent and always very close to rage. He is loyal and wants approval.

Link to him on Pathbuilder here.

Vystral is my second character proposal. He is not set up as an alias properly yet. He is a Half Elf Rogue (Mastermind)/Dandy/Eldritch Archer.

Hwang Vystral:
Vystral always believed he was destined for great things. Spoiled by his parents, he never wanted for anything as a child. He became a politician as soon as he was old enough to get noticed, quickly climbing the ranks. It’s amazing how quick that can be if you know the right people and you’re willing to be corrupt. So it was for Vystral. But then there was the incident with the Ambassador’s daughter. And the misappropriated civic funds. And the diamond tiara. His fall from grace was fast and he damaged his family’s reputation too. Vystral had a change of heart. He sought redemption. So, he travelled, embraced the arts of his father’s people and became an adventurer. He has a second chance now. The tournament. Let the games begin!

Vystral is fast, clever and witty. He never looks like he lacks confidence and only very rarely does lack it. He knows how bad he used to be, and that people can change. He wants to win so his disgrace can be properly put behind him.

His Pathbuilder link is here.

Say, guns are new, how do you feel about using stuff from guns and gear book? Also stuff like doubleshot and other like feats says it only works with weapon reload 0. These feats where written before repeating weapons and capacity weapons came out, which they did in the new book, since you don't reload it until you fire your last shot. If you say no, to use these feats you must have a ranged weapon with reload 0, I understand. I was going to make a fighter based off of Zac Freelan that was in your breaking the storm trilogy, but since he is leveled up a bit and a bit more gold to spend at this point, I was going to give him the pellet gun, which would work with doubleshot, hunted shot and agile grace feats.

Hi! Would it be okay to apply to this even though I’m also GMing a Ruby Phoenix campaign? I won’t do anything metagamey, just want to see what the experience is like from the player side.

Sovereign Court

Well, here he is, he is based off of that Zac Freelan character that played in your Breaking the Storm trilogy, or rather he is a representation of who Zac becomes when Zac becomes level 11. With a in depth backstory and personality added, and a little more contribution to the game. I went with a non campaign background, cause has most of all the same choices Zac all the way up to level 8. If you say no to guns, I just take it out of my equipment. I know for sure if PFS legalizes guns and there is a way for fighters to grab them, Zac is going to grab the air repeater, which is reload zero by the way, and has a magazine of 6 rounds so it will work with the feats after all.

Grand Lodge

Doni have to make like a character for this right now or just the concept?

Here's my submission, Aoibhean! She's very strong and has a burning desire to prove herself. The crunch and everything is in the profile, but for your convenience I'm also posting the fluff here in the thread. Of note for the crunch: I have a couple Uncommon items in there, but if they're disallowed they can be replaced easily enough.

Background:
There are two things Aoibhean has been told her whole life: that her name was too hard to pronounce, and that she was a disappointment. Sometimes, she had the privilege of experiencing both at once: a particularly memorable example comes from ten years ago, when an official of the last Ruby Phoenix Tournament stumbled over her name as he eliminated her from the prequalifiers.

The daughter of an Andoren diplomat in Minkai, Aoibhean was a challenge for her parents from the very beginning. For starters, her parents were staid and devout Abadarans; that their firstborn was a child with a tail and feathers came as quite a shock and resulted in no shortage of whispered speculation about supposed indiscretions. On top of that, she had no interest in learning the things expected of the eldest daughter of a diplomat: statecraft, etiquette, and grace.

Instead, she flitted her attention from one subject to another, obsessively studying one thing before growing bored and moving on. The result was a skillset as broad as an ocean and as deep as a puddle. The privilege afforded to her by her family's status insulated her from any serious ramifications until, on a whim, she decided to compete in the Ruby Phoenix Tournament of 4711. Her parents had objected (quite vociferously) to the very idea, and forbade her from even traveling to Goka. So she stole a letter of credit from her father's study, forged his signature, and used that to buy passage.

Goka is where Aiobhean finally had to reckon with the consequences of her temerity. Her father, furious, had paid an outrageous sum to have a letter teleported ahead of her. In it, he stripped her of any claim to her inheritance and his financial support unless she returned home immediately and apologized. To any outside observer, this might seem harsh but fair, considering the great damage she had caused to her father's finances and reputation. But Aiobhean had never cared about fairness, and refused.

She continued on to the prequalifiers, confident in the fighting skills she'd honed roaming the streets of Kasai. But the combatants of the Ruby Phoenix tournament weren't just some street toughs; they were professional killers, monster hunters, spellswords, and more. She was beaten, burned, and thrown to the ground. The humiliation of being defeated so soundly in front of thousands was only compounded by her name being mangled in front of that same crowd.

Aoibhean carried that shame with her for years, never returning home. It gave her the impetus she needed to actually focus on something for the first time in her life. She studied under any teacher of martial or magical might who would take her, and learned to combine the two in a style all her own, all in service of one goal: she would return to the Ruby Phoenix Tournament and win, no matter what.

After ten years of single-minded devotion to honing her mind and body, Aiobhean arrived in Goka once again. And once again, an official called her up, struggling with her name.

"It looks harder than it is,'" she interrupted, smiling. "It's pronounced 'eve-in.'"

Okay, my character should be up to date. May change around some stuff depending on the group. Added a brief background to Osh as well (on his profile), but it's not completely fleshed out yet.

Tempting, tempting, tempting....Losonti?

Leaving this open until the end of the week.

I can have an Orc Oracle ready by end of week. I am a chef and this is our busy season...lol.

I have a couple high level builds collecting dust on pathbuilder. What characters are in the party currently? If they need a magic user I’ll let Dorian submit his character. Most of mine are more martial based.

We currently have a magus (that's me!), a druid, a fighter, and a barbarian. I think I'm the only person without an archetype.

This is Dorian Grey's work in progress. I cheated and got a bit of a start before work this morning....lol.

In that case I’ll pass, but best of luck in your game!

Coming along nicely!

Just need to do spells and equipment, I believe.

EDIT: Will the party accept this Spell if he casts it?

Almost done with spell selection....

I'm interested!

Right now I have a frontline Summoner build, Kobold/Dragon, and a Halfling (Duskwalker?) Life Oracle who are level 10 and can easily be bumped up. It looks like frontline is pretty well covered, so I'm leaning towards the Life Oracle build, but I'm curious as to thoughts before I bring them up to snuff. I had only done a cursory glance over the characters and can do more tomorrow.

BACKGROUND
------------------------------
Tu-Kukkora grew up in a town in the main mountain range of Minkai. Situated in a caldera, it is a small town with a university, many temples to various deities, and an entrance to the Darklands. He was a curious boy and loved learning. He studied medicine at the local university.
During the last Ruby Phoenix tournament, Tu-Kukkora supported his cousin Tuk-Tarrki who was an entrant in the tournament. He was a medic for his cousin and companions, getting them healed between bouts. He also scouted their next opponents, trying to learn their weaknesses, strengths, and preferred fighting styles.

He became aware of suspicious wagers and some people purposefully losing their bouts. He didn't think it was his place to try to expose it. When his cousin's team lost, he was disappointed, and surprised. Their opponents hadn't posed much danger in his assessment. He returned to Minkai's mountains, while his cousin decided to travel a little before returning home.

Three years passed, an occasional letter from Tuk-Tarrki reached Minkai. He was enjoying adventuring in the many islands of Minata. One day one of Tuk-Tarrki's companions arrived. Ulgonz claimed Tuk-Tarrki owed him money from the tournament. The two had purposefully lost their bout.

Tu-Kukkora was shocked and disappointed. He re-read his cousin's letters and with this new information, reading between the lines, Tu-Kukkora became convinced his cousin was deeply suffering. He set off to find his cousin along with Ulgonz. They searched his last known whereabouts but only discovered a string of debts, broken promises, and angry people.

After one year, Ulgonz decided the search wasn't worth it anymore. Tu-Kukkora kept following Tuk-Tarrki's trail. Fours years later he found Tuk-Tarrki. His cousin was a shadow of his former self. Guilt and shame had bored through his spirit. He was addicted to pesh and alcohol. Tu-Kukkora brought him back to Minkai, he where now lives in a village as a farmer.

Tu-Kukkora decided to find out who organized the gambling and bout-throwing scheme. What better way than being in the next tournament, only two years away? He had time to prepare. His goal is to uncover the people who corrupted his cousin last tournament, if they are still active, or anyone attempting to disrupt the integrity of this tournament.

POSSIBLE GEAR
7 Boots of Bounding OR Slippers of Spider Climbing
7 Cold Iron Buckler
8 +1 resilient leather armor
9 Grievous Rune for Thunder Sling?
9 Healer's Gloves (Greater) OR Pendant of the Occult (Greater) OR Armbands of Athleticism
10 Ring of Energy Resistance (Greater) Electricity

Here is Tu-Kukkora, tengu undercover contestant investigator. I know this class and the oracle are least recommended in the player's guide, but the investigator best fits his history. Witch was a close second for his class, so I could make him a witch. I've never played an investigator (or a witch) if that matters. I would attempt to prioritize Recall Knowledge checks early in the fight and using Battle Medicine as needed. He'd mostly use ranged attacks. I'm happy to change some things about this build if there are problems. Please let me know. Oh yeah, I'm still trying to decide on the magic gear. A tentative list is at the end of his background. Thanks for the opportunity.

Doc Ling (of Knight of Rust), at your service.

New books have been released since I last looked over Doc so I'm going to spend tomorrow looking over the new stuff. I also haven't gotten him any equipment yet, either, but that shall come soon, too.

I'm building him as a healer (obviously) but he'll have a lot of support options and damage dealing options. Life Link and Heal backed by the Life Curses are pretty powerful, as is Debilitating Dichotomy, and a few other things. He also has the Medic Dedication, because I like it, and Doctor's Visitation is pretty grand.

Quick backstory:
Doc is a follower of Qi Zhong, Tian God of Medicine. He's a Goka native who worked in the back alleys of the slums, taking care of whoever needed it for a reasonable price. Well loved by the people, the Halfling never charged more than anyone could handle even if it meant he barely made a copper.

One of the regulars to his practice was a young Halfling named Agnus. Agnus was always getting beaten up and bruised as he trained for the Ruby Phoenix Tournament, and despite Doc's best efforts not to get attached to his patients they became good friends. The youngling thought so, at least. As Agnus practiced, Doc did what he could to keep the boy in top shape. This story didn't have a happy ending, however.

The young man became more powerful as time passed, and he started defending the people of the slums. Whether by fate or chance he also managed to cross paths with the Golden League. Doc greeted a particularly bloody Agnus for the last time that night. As the older was patching up his younger, the Golden League came for them. Not in any position to fight, Doc attempted to show the thugs the door, giving time for Agnus to escape through the back.

Doc gave his life that day for one of his long-time patients, but that was not the end of his story. No, the Boneyard had other plans. Doc Ling rose from the ashes of his burnt down practice, skin as grey as the bleak remains of the building surrounding him. He saw Agnus near him, not run down as he fled like Doc had told him to, but beside him and surrounded by the scorched thugs who had apparently left this mortal coil before they could finish the job.

An atrocity, that's what this event was. Bile rose in the throat of the back alley doctor. His adherence to the Doctor's Oath died when he had. The feelings welling up inside of him made "Primum non nocere" lose all meaning. It took some time to get used to this body. This... Duskwalker that he had become.

With his connections, Doc began looking into the Golden League and, more importantly, the thugs that took Agnus' life.

----

So that sets up Doc to get into things with the Undercover Contender background. After that, it would have to be a discussion between me and the GM to see how things got connected from A to B.

I eagerly await your choice!

Sovereign Court

Double post, but Doc's spells are up on his page. I'll put links in when I'm home tonight. I've also sent a... lot of tabs on items to my desktop as well. He'll be finished tonight!

UPDATE 3.0
Possibly looking for a replacement.
We are still in the first half of Book One.
Please apply with a full 11th level character below.
We are using the Ancestry Paragon variant rule!

Interested! This would be my first PbP on these forums, but I have experience elsewhere. My character is built as a support bard; there are still a few details missing on my sheet but the build is finished, just have to choose equipment. I’ll be able to do that and set up an alias tomorrow. Here’s the sheet in the meantime.

Suli Catfolk, Attention Addict Background, Maestro Bard.

Quick Backstory:

Zurrus Silk-String is a native of Murraseth, having grown up as part of one of the numerous fighting guilds in the area. At first, she was often at the bottom of the ranks, beaten out by those stronger and faster than her. It was only when she began studying the occult magical arts with her family elders that she gained the edge she needed to pull ahead.

She quickly made a name for herself via her signature style of winning (namely, irritating her opponents to the point that they forfeit). She has quite a high opinion of herself, but it is not entirely unearned. She works well in a team, and her harp skills are unmatched.

Each decade, the guild chooses one champion as its representative in the Ruby Phoenix tournament. This time, Zurrus was selected, and so she left her home for the first time, bound for Tian Xia.

Thanks for the consideration!

A healer you say? I can get on board with that!

Later today I'll be putting forth a NG Cleric of Qi Zhong (witch and champion dedication).

Hey guys, I present Ryushi. A warpriest cleric of Shizuru who took the Marshall Archetype so he's a healer, a buffer, and a tank with a decent first strike. Spent most of his money on armor, a sharp sword, and a very fancy pair of boots.

I think he should work very well with providing attack buffs to Max and Osh.

His story is that he tried to be a paladin of Shizuru but failed the final test since he's just not good with heavy armour and had to settle for being a cleric. His continued dedication has endeared him to Shizuru but his failure to achieve his childhood dream is always in the back of his mind.

Let me know if there are any questions!

After reviewing the previous applicant, I think that ya'll are better off with them.

I withdraw. Well built Azih.

Zurrus Silk-String, at your service! Please hold your applause!

Noticed a few errors in my build above, so I ran it through Pathbuilder to make sure it all checks out. Also got equipment sorted, so everything should be good to go. Thanks again for your consideration!

Well looks like you got your players but if you lose someone let me know and I drop in and play just about anything you want/need. Other than that have fun you all
