Oh, and that ups his Initiative modifier to +3, fwiw.

Did we do spoils from the sales yet?

Jaraduk Cometrunner |

Jaraduk, it applies a full level of credit for any character Level 1-4. (Interestingly enough, all of this AP's sanctioned forms cover four levels, so you could apply the last one on a Level 14 character if you wanted.)
In that case:
272301-701
Darkrunner-42
Operative 4

Jaraduk Cometrunner |

Hmm, then it's time to start really thinking about purchases with this many credits!

Akh Xi |

I'll be also buying a Mk1 Synaptic Accelerator for DEX! I've got a bit of money left over that will need some brainstorming. It's not nearly enough for armor that would be a meaningful upgrade, so I think it's time to dive into more augmentations.

Guess? |

@GM Ewok, here are the details for my SFS character!!
Name: Kaiole
SFS Number: 194657-704
Oh!! I didn't realize that the chronicles apply to a 4 level range. In that case, if it is not too late, can I switch my SFS character? If it's too late, then no worries, Kaiole is fine. But if it is okay to switch, can you please apply the chronicle to this character instead?
Thank you!!

Guess? |

I've finished Guess?'s purchases. Picked up the following items

Jaraduk Cometrunner |

With the overload of visual candy, this place is giving me SNL Stefon vibes. "Absalom's hottest nightclub is UnDank! It's got ghouls, fools, and a robot squox who does spot-on impressions of Chiskisk."

![]() |

Stefon would definitely be a regular attendee at the Revenant Urge! This club is so fun.
And there are definitely side quests in this AP! Since it's supposed to be a "Neutral Neutral" AP, the side quests are there to define the crew's ethics and to reinforce the flavor of the AP. Last book there was the "who killed the merchant on Akiton" side path, this book will have a few more!

Guess? wrote:By the way, what happened to Torren and the other liberated Android?hehe...hehe... hmmm...
GM Ewok wrote:Torren seems to be leading the conversations, perhaps because they have spent the most time free. "Yes, mining might be a good idea. Nobody asks for ID when an extra pair of willing hands are needed."As the group walks away from theOliphauntLast Chance, a trio of android heads pop out of the airlock. "Uh... Are we there yet?" Three androids wander down the gangway. "Alright, let's get to mining!" A necrovite taskmaster cracks a whip. "Oye! Fat metal skellies! Get on the ship, time to dig deep for low wages!" Torren turns to the others with wide eyes. "They'll PAY us?!" They board the eoxian liner that takes off soon after.
Haha! I thought they were gonna hook up with some android rights group to publicize their story and garner sympathy for their cause. But hey, theys gots bills to pay so can't blame 'em!

Yeah, thanks for the reminder! As I worked to adapt the Book 1 ending to that Sense Motive check, I totally forgot them. :/ As is the theme of the AP, the freed androids were always going to fall into a slightly improved cog in the economic machine. This book and the next seem to do a really good job of bringing NPCs back / tying up their stories with a bow.

Jaraduk Cometrunner |

Looks good. No credits are listed, so I assume that is just taken from the level range above?

GM Ewok, is it possible to have the chronicle assigned to the other character I mentioned above? But if it's too late, then no worries!

Doh! my bad, yepp I'll update that this weekend.
And yepp, I left the credits open so you could choose the Level your characters were going to take it at.

Whew! A lot of things going on in parallel at the moment! In order to not lose track of it all, I'm noting down several posts to follow-up on after our meeting with Rishae, assuming we've got time to follow-up IC-ly:

Akh Xi |

Yeah, lots of loose ends on our list! Now that we're essentially free traders, I'm a bit unsure with what we want to prioritize beyond the Tarika job. Seems like there's a lot of morally dubious options to pursue.

![]() |

A more rowdy group might consider beating this rival crew up to take their contract. Or at least, that's what I'm getting out of this meeting.
These two club scenes take up a whole more page than they strictly needed, just talking about all of the possible routes that are possible.

Del Reisora |

This level up Del is...
- increasing a bunch of basics (skills, BAB, weapon specialization, etc).
- learning a new language (Ysoki)
- gaining one more spell per day plus two new spells known (psychokinetic shove (0 level, GM) and wisp ally (1st level))
- gaining compound sight to gain a +1 bonus to mysticism checks.
And on the note of new rules: I'd love to use the scaling cantrip rules when they're out publicly later this week. Let me know if that's alright after you read them.

Strek Armstrom |

Oooooo! I don't know anything about them, but would that make things like telekinetic projectile work like in PF2?

Hallelujah, maybe we'll get some passing Mysticism checks now. :)

Starfinder Unchained?! I hadn't heard those rumors, good to know. Let me know if you see the article before I do, I miss those sometimes. I'm happy to check them out, sounds like fun!

Del Reisora |

Haha! I know, my Mysticism is pitiful. Now it'll be slightly less pitiful!
They announced scaling cantrips on a few interviews and there's a recent discussion about it on the Galactic Magic product page. Other than that, my lips are sealed until Wednesday-ish!

Since starships level up with their crew....
So... funny thing about that... I was going to wait until you hit Level 4 to mention it but... your starship doesn't automatically upgrade in this AP. :/ Since the AP is about free trading, the implied payments and favors that upgrade your ship in other APs have to be earned!
The bad news: That means your crew has to keep doing jobs in order to keep progressing your starship. But since that's the theme of the AP, that should be alright. (This expanded rule set is included in the AP for use in other campaigns as well, where it would change things up quite a bit I think.)
The good news: If y'all manage to 100% the rewards in the AP, which is super possible with your current skill loadouts, you'll have a fairly powerful ship. Around that point I'll introduce other things to spend your BP on - Lifestyle improvements (paying for all of your meals and lodging with BP), Ship insurance, cargo insurance, and employees (like Society's skill assistant folks).

![]() |

The Hirelings are pretty awesome! A one year contract with one costs 1 BP/level and they are pretty darn similar to Society hirelings (2+level bonus to one skill). They're located on a planet of your choice, so they're only useful when you have the means to contact them. For double the cost they'll travel anywhere in the Pact Worlds at your beck and call! That makes it easier to consult them. *Technically Tarika is a planetary agent Hireling skilled in Diplomacy. Her services are free to the party though, thanks to your history together.
While they don't provide much of a mechanical advantage, I really like the Lifestyle options for later game when you'll be bathing in BP.

Strek Armstrom |

Strek slept like that on the previous ship, but without the hammock.
Actually, I think the ideal bed for a Brakim is one of those hooks that you hang a bunch of bananas on.

Jaraduk Cometrunner |

While this latest suggestion might not actually be the smartest choice, Jaraduk is itching for a little action. He likes spoils that come with a thrill and the oppressive bean-counting and losing out on basic trade arrangements was getting him down. It's perhaps not easy to convey but it's perhaps a glimmer of his old life in the diaspora teasing him back to faster and looser ways.

Guess? |

Apologies for the delay in posting. Been a busy couple of days. Also, I'll be heading out of town on another trip and will be out for about 5 days. So my posting over the next week or so may be brief or non-existent. Anyone, please go ahead and bot Guess? as needed/desired!

Additional cargo to pick up and profit from?: Link
The destroyed ship Harlequin’s Prayer, attacked by pirate Tremeshkan, it's owner Saema, the debt he owes to Blackwind Engineering, and BE's current right to ship salvage, including dead bodies. Conspiracy to profit off of?: Link
Send a bottle to Kreech as promised, hit up Kreech for info about his employer, and inquire into procuring Barathu veal. A bit of side cash and new employer contact?: Link
Adding another point to the Saema bullet above:

Yeah, right now it all seems like insurance fraud style stuff.
Adding another point to the Saema bullet above:
Rygan was invited aboard the Harlequin’s Prayer by Saema. Is Rygan also involved in a conspiracy around the ship's destruction somehow? Link
Or did Saema hope that Rygan would perish in the attack? That wwould be interesting.

Guess? |

Good guesses. But at the moment, I can't really figure it out. I get the feeling there are more avenues of investigation that we're currently missing...

Jaraduk Cometrunner |

I always have that feeling, lol.

Alrighty, so, I SHOULD be sleeping, but when insomnia strikes, you gotta roll with it.
I believe the original Oliphaunt was built incorrectly. Wrong Power Core, doesn't include the −1 Piloting for M12 Thrusters, and the math of the PCUs/BPs doesn't add up.
My proposition to rectify this is simple: It looks like we have 5 BP remaining, and we need 37 PCU. Upgrading the Pulse Grey Power Core to a Pulse Green costs 5 BP, and gives us 50 PCU.

Guess? |

Thank you Strek! Ship building rules is an area I am not familiar with at all so thanks for putting this together! The build looks good to me!
If no one else objects and if GM Ewok approves it, then this is also means we have a total of 125 tons of cargo space, right?
So I believe we'd potentially carry the items below for this next cargo run:

Akh Xi |

TY Strek! This certainly wouldn't be the first time that Paizo builds a starship with an improper BP value. Sometimes, the writer behind the ship has chimed in to say that the BP total not matching the Tier is intentional, that the less optimal selection of features balances out a higher BP total. Not sure if something like that is out there for the Oliphaunt.
I guess its up to Ewok if we should correct Paizo's errors prior to upgrading.

This AP might intentionally be off, too, since we "Trade" in BPs.
But I made a template for the ship so it's easy to upgrade as we continue through the AP.
