Well, the party does carry around a lot of obvious weapons and stuff and looks more like "Stooges hired by the lizards oppressors" than " we play gigs in bad areas" band. The place is probably bugged too (with apologies to our Formian musician)

So i'd put credits on either a real freedom fighter group protecting him as an honored member of their community or Radical Weydonite whackjobs hired these guys to make him look more guilty.

Technically enough APL-3 foes should add up to a decent fight, but CR1 and lower foes are just too wimpy.

Level 3 in starfinder is a huge bump in terms of power. Specilization kicks on, and almost doubles a low level partys damage.

Yeah, they are definitely worthwhile to the AP for a few reasons. But I'm surprised they weren't CR 2.

Yeah, I was really surprised there wasn't one in the first book. (Well, there was one as an option but it would have to be forced to really happen.) Even a semi-fake one like in the first AP of Dead Suns. And with this one being optional, you could make it to the third book without ever breaking out the Starship rules!

No worries, Del! Real life comes first. Speaking of, I'm going camping this weekend! So I don't think I'll be posting Thursday through Sunday.

Also, great job with the roleplaying while working out the group decision! You've done that a few times throughout the AP and its gotten smoother and more natural each time. It's quite a bit more fun than me just calling for a vote. This AP certainly likes to put the crew into tough situations, and this crew has the personalities to keep the discussion moving.

As for the Wintermourn... those of you familiar with starships would know that the ship was seriously outclassed in this fight. It likely would have died if you hadn't intervened. However... it also could have stayed to help you fight.

Not sure if it came through but I was trying to make Guess? (and goblins in general) sound flippant about eating other species.

Maybe I remember wrong but I believe it is canon somewhere that goblins eat a lot of the other playable races. Or maybe that was Pathfinder...

There was a post a while back where I think Guess? said something about enjoying eating all species but that he would never eat fellow crew. Bad for teamwork and morale or something along those lines.... Hehehe

Of course that doesn't stop him from joking or implying that he would because he's cheeky that way... Kekeke

    Unfortunately... the only loot in that entire section, since you left the ranch, was on Agavana's person. So I think Slide 3 is accurate. There's a few things on there you should sell or distribute but it will be a short list.

    I just added the 5 BP to Slide 3 as well. I think that's accurate as well, you have quite a few. Make sure to keep some for down payments on cargo.

    I replaced the Ship Slide with an update including Del's 4 ranks of Piloting. That Ship Build utilizes 95/95 Build Points, and 137/150 PCUs.

    I'm removing the "9 + 20 + 3 + 17 -1+1 +5 build points" (which equals 54 Build Points) from the Slide for discussion here.

    How many of those would people like to keep on hand for cargo, and how many would we like to upgrade the ship with? If we want to Upgrade our Ship from Tier 3 to Tier 4, we need 20 Build Points. If we want to Upgrade to Tier 5, we need 40.

    At this point y'all are expert cargo haulers, which is why you're getting all these tough jobs. So your expertise would tell you that you wouldn't need more than 10 BP saved up as a down payment for future cargo.

    I collected stats from all of the other Tier 5 ships for comparison. We have 40 BPs and 13 PCUs to play with (although see Power Core below).

    Armor/Defenses:
    We have Mk1 armor and Mk1 defenses. Not a single Tier 5 ship goes that low, so we should probably upgrade ours. One ship has Mk6, and another has Mk2, but the majority vary between Mk3-Mk5.

  • Upgrading to Mk3 costs 8 BP and 2 PCU.
  • Upgrading to Mk4 costs 16 BP and 4 PCU.

    Shields:
    We have 80 Shield Points. Tier 5 Ships range from 40-160, with the majority falling between 60-100. I think we're good with what we have, but if we want more, it's pretty cheap:

  • Upgrading to 100 costs 3 BP and 0 PCU.
  • Upgrading to 120 costs 5 BP and 5 PCU.

    Weapons:
    We have two medium-range, 3d6 weapons (Light Particle Cannons); one in the Forward, and one on the Turret. One-third of Tier 5 Ships have 3d6 weapons. 4d8 and 6d4 were the next most common. And some ranged as high as 5d10. We have LOTS of options, and I'm not a Gunner, so I'll toss some ideas here for comment:

  • Adding another 3d6 Particle Cannon to either the Turret or the Forward costs 10 BP and 10 PCU.
  • Linking another Particle Cannon to an existing one (turning it into a single, 6d6 weapon) costs 15 BP and 10 PCU.

    Upgrading the Turret to a bigger die size downgrades our range to Short:

  • There is a 3d8 Buster weapon. We actually get back 1 BP if we replace our Light Particle Beam with it.
  • And there is a 6d4 Chain Cannon. That costs 0 BP and 5 PCU.

    We can add or upgrade our Forward Light Particle Cannon to a Heavy weapon, though:

  • Upgrading to a short-range, 15d4 Ripper Weapon costs only 10 BP and 10 PCU.
  • Adding such a weapon to our vacant Forward bracket would instead cost 20 BP and 20 PCU.

  • Upgrading to a medium-range, 4d8 Heavy Laser Cannon costs 5 BP and 0 PCU.
  • Adding such a weapon to our vacant Forward bracket would instead cost 15 BP and 10 PCU.

    Power Core:
    We only have 13 PCUs to upgrade, so if the combined cost of upgrades goes over that, we need a new Power Core:

  • Upgrading our 150 PCU Pulse Green to a 175 Pulse Red costs only 2 BP and should cover any of the above upgrades.
  • Upgrading to a 200 PCU Arcus Maximum costs only 5 BP (and would ease the math of restoring Shields ^_^)

    Other thoughts:
    Strek is totally on board if people want to upgrade our lifestyle through better quarters and entertainment, too.
