Beast Sighting! (Round Two, Concluding)
Seizing the window created by Brünwulf, Atae retreats and sets up a ward to protect Zelphari.
Thosse also ceases playing dead and runs across the ice after Sassa Ringbreaker - the great skald! - who unbeknownst to her, is probably actually dead.
The bear snarls at Brünwulf, two of his arrows sticking out of it, some of it's fur charred away, and gives furious chase, this time reaching for him with it's massive paws and strong arms!

Ugh. Poor thing. It was pretty rabid, though. Hopefully the people indigenous to these parts can make use of its hide and meat.
He picks up the head and tosses it into the snow at the end of the bridge.
He walks towards the carcass, kneels beside it, and puts his hand over its heart.
He mutters a small somber prayer in broken elvish, wishing the bear's soul a safe journey to its afterlife.
Something I learned from the elves I grew up hunting with.
He says as he stands.
Let's go check on Faergim. I have a feeling she didn't survive.
He carefully hustles across the ice towards the other teammates attending to their fallen comrade.
How is she?

Infernal Hellfyre Champions!
The party eventually looks into the cave, and discover the body of Faergim Axebinder, and preparing to carry her away for a proper burial, realize that she somehow survived what looks to be a mortal wound. The race is halted and eventually the medical team comes over to tend to her. And the following day, the race resumes, to which the Weirding Wayfinders abandon their position, leaving the party in first place.
After the competition, there is a great feast held in the PC's names, and much merriment is had, as Sassa Ringbreaker composes an original ballad about the Bear, and how the PCs bravely slew it and saved them all. All in all, the festivities continue deep into the night and even early morning, with nary a soul not under the influence of one spirit or another to be found.
You are a champion of the Balgirdtrek, which earns you special privileges throughout the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. While playing in an adventure that takes place primarily in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, you can stay for free at any Ulfen or Varki inn or similar establishment, and you gain a 10% on all non-magical goods bought in Ulfen or Varki settlements (this does not stack with any other discount or reduction in price). In addition, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus on all Diplomacy checks to Make A Request while playing in an adventure that takes place primarily in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings.
If ever the PCs find themselves again within the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, their reputations will proceed them, and they will be fondly treated and embraced.

You'll hafta tell me what that means. Is it a battle cry in your native tongue?
During the celebration and after having a few swigs of the strong local liquor, Brünwulf finds the courage to take Atae aside to speak to her in private. He tries to remain confident, yet is quite nervous.
So, uhh, Atae.
He says shyly as he rubs the back of his neck.
He throws his arm down and shrugs.
Ahh, hell. I'll just ask ya.
He places a hand on her shoulder and looks right into her beautiful elven eyes.
So, when we get back to Absalom, would you like to have a nice dinner together? With me?
With a charming grin, he points to himself and then at Atae.
Just us? To get to know each other more.
He glances around nervously and leans closer to her.
I did enjoy our time together the other night. Sorry for being standoffish since then. You don't know what it's like for a guy like me to find a strong and beautiful woman like yourself. I would just like to get to know ya more. Ya know?
Atae |
After the end of the fight, she runs up to Brunwulf to tend to his wounds, offering him her healing potion to make sure htat he is ok.
Atae |
As she follows Brunwulf to their little rendevous, she gives him a shy smile. I would be happy to accompany you back to Absalom. And dinner of course would be nice, but what do you mean a guy like you? as she runs her fingers over hips lips, teasingly.
