About Ezaki Glico
Background Summary
Ezaki Glico is a confectioner's apprentice born 5,000 years ago, and transported to the present with the rest of Edasseril. He met some spies Pathfinders who made him realize there was a whole world to explore, but the only way he could get out of the country was to be on a reality show where archmages send him into the world and control his actions for the amusement of Belimarius's court. YOLO!
Personality:
Ezaki is a good-natured, but incredibly naive young man.

Casting:
Character Inspiration: I had a friend who auditioned for a reality show, when reality shows were not very popular yet. His insider reporting of the weird "binning" (cramming people into a few "desirable" categories) and engineered conflict made me hate reality shows, but reading the ancestors mystery in the APG made me think exactly of that atmosphere - a bunch of idiots off-screen arguing about what their puppets on-screen "should" do.
Also, Turkish ice cream vendors.
Ezaki's Audition Video:
Off screen: Your name and number.
"Ezaki Glico, um, number 314."
Off screen: Go ahead and start whenever you're ready.
A young man standing near a fire in a confectionery bursts into a beaming smile. "Your honors, I am Ezaki Glico, servant of Her Eternal Majesty Runelord Belimarius, Slayer of King Opir Eightfingers, and Supreme Lord of all Thassilon. And I make ice cream."
Ezaki brings up a wad of ice cream on the end of his pole, loosely attaching a cone. As the camera operator reaches for the cone, Ezaki deftly rotates his pole to move the cone out of reach. Smiling, Ezaki puts the cone in the outstretched hand, only to pull it up, and leave the cone behind without the ice cream. He loads up three scoops of ice cream onto his pole, dropping half a kilogram of ice cream onto the cone, and then yanks it away, cone and all. Finally, he relents, putting an ice cream cone - with ice cream - in the hand, and tucking a napkin in to boot.
"The Sweetest Dreams is the premier ice creamery in all of western Xin-Edasseril, and in the whole world. It would be my honor to represent Edasseril in the world, to teach them of our culture and heritage."
Withdrawing his ice cream pole, he twirls it one last time, and then puts it on the counter, quickly shaping some ice cream into the shape of the Edasserilian flag.
Ezaki bows.
Off screen: Do you think that you'd be able to kill someone if we put a blade at the end of that pole?
"Uh ... what?"
Off screen: If we were to fashion your pole into a guisarme, do you think you could behead the enemies of Her Eternal Majesty?
Devil's Keep: You are the rightful master of the infernal keep known as Diggen's Rest. Once per adventure, you may use the following reaction.
Infernal Detonations (reaction) Trigger A creature within 30 feet of you targets you or an ally with an attack; Effect The creature takes fire damage equal to 1d6+your level (basic Reflex save). The DC of the Reflex save is equal to your spell DC or your class DC, whichever is higher.
Chronicle Boons:
Tarnbreaker Champions: While playing in an adventure that takes place primarily in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, you can stay for free at any Ulfen or Varki inn or similar establishment, and you gain a 10% on all non-magical goods bought in Ulfen or Varki settlements (this does not stack with any other discount or reduction in price). In addition, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus on all Diplomacy checks to Make A Request while playing in an adventure that takes place primarily in the Lands of the Linnorm Kings.
Legacy Boons:
Hireling (Gob Bluth) (Arcana, Banana Lore): You have recruited a non-combat hireling who can assist you with a certain set of skill checks. This ally performs the selected skills with a total modifier equal to 2 + your level, and they are considered trained in the skills. You must expend any actions and be in range to perform the action yourself, and any consequences of these actions affect you (such as falling when using Athletics to Climb). The hireling doesn’t have or use its own ability modifiers and can never benefit from item bonuses, status bonuses, or fortune effects. Abilities that grant you a circumstance bonus do not grant that circumstance bonus to your hireling even though you are using your action to attempt the check. You cannot aid your own hireling. You cannot use the hirelings skills except recall knowledge in combat, and the hireling cannot be affected by, or affect combat, and cannot be harmed unless willfully endangered, and has no effect other than performing the selected skill checks. When you purchase this boon, you select one skill as well as one Lore skill. The hireling can perform only these skills checks.
