Glad to hear it - well, you know, glad that it's still manageable, not that you're feeling less creative and being busier.
Hirabashi Yuto |
Most days I can give a long post or a couple of shorter ones. Weekends vary more as with the good weather we tend to do more life outside.
For me the most difficult is when there is nothing clear to do, specially on the caravan it seems like are the NPCs who should make the main decisions. Also, the most other players offer hooks, it makes it easier to post follow up posts.
Aganhei GM |
Just so everyone knows: I am recruiting for a third game. This may mean I will be slightly less active than prior. I do not believe it will be significant, and if it is, I apologize in advance, and would adjust the expected posting rate accordingly. That said, I don't think it will overly impact us.
Hana Tenko |
Thanks for letting us know about the third game, Aganhei.
Been distracted by Father Day's and other IRL stuff but I have to agree with Yuto that the caravan stuff has kind of made it difficult what to write without an obvious immediate mission or goal in mind. I am super appreciative of the incorporation of Hana's backstory though and it has gotten me really jazzed.
Aganhei GM |
I have plans to get more of others' backstories involved, as well... though it varies, as some of you have less reason for roots to go back in northern lands... many of you do! So, there's that.
Aganhei GM |
Once everyone is satisfied with their plans & preparations, or tomorrow, I'll move the Nogitsune caravan off, and everyone else onwards.
Aganhei GM |
So, yes, uh, I didn't actually intend for Aspexia to do this at the moment, but I think it might add to the tension, and thus, I'll roll with it. If things ever seem to be detracting from the focus of the game, please let me know. :P
Hana Tenko |
Ominous!
Seishin of the Wheel |
I don't think she'll be able to kill you...
Yeah, that'll be her new 'friend's' job.
Hirabashi Yuto |
Hi! I am following the thread, but so far I have nothing else to propose.

Thanks for letting me know, Yuto. I like to know these things.

Okay, this is amusing. You totally ruined the Nogitsune's plan, and put them on the back foot - hard. I totally didn't expect you to manage this, but you did!

*slow claps*
Absolutely amazing reveal there. I did not see that one coming, but in retrospect the foreshadowing was fantastic.
Aganhei GM |
I'm glad! I didn't plan for her to be revealed quite this quickly, but there you go.
Seishin of the Wheel |
Sorry for the delay in posting. Gorram heat's been beating me down.
Lemme see what I can do...
Aganhei GM |
You see what happened to Hana right there? That's why you getting them on the back foot was a really good thing.
Aganhei GM |
Well, it seems so! To be fair, your characters would not have easily been able to tell.
Mind you, though she's not evil, she might not be on your side. The whole attacking the ninja thing seems to indicate that she might be against them, at least.
Hana Tenko |
Ouch!
Hirabashi Yuto |
”Assassins!” Her voice booms hollowly from within her helm. ”You dare to bring harm upon the innocent! You shall learn to fear the Visage.” Her voice positively drips menace as her helm glares at the ninja.
I promise when I read 'glares at the ninja' I was completely sure you meant Hana! Hence the confusion.
Aganhei GM |
Haha! Oh, I totally forgot about her when writing that line. That's great. Oops.
Hirabashi Yuto |
It is fine, miscommunications happen. To me it just made sense she focused on Hana as all the scene was relating to her family and background :D
Aganhei GM |
Yep, I'm not unhappy at the miscommunication, honestly - it makes sense in-character as well, given the Gray Maidens' reputation.
Teruko Kaijitsu |
It never even occurred to me that she might have been referring to Hana, so I figured it made sense for Teruko to think "Ninjas' Enemy = Ally." In retrospect that was probably metagamey of me.
Aganhei GM |
Fortunately, she doesn't benefit from bless whatsoever, so including her in the spell can easily be retconned.
Aganhei GM |
I'll give Seishin another bit to get his action up, otherwise I'll bot him and his bird.
Aganhei GM |
Huh, despite having no ranks in it and no wisdom bonus, Teruko continues to manage to use Heal effectively.
Teruko Kaijitsu |
I'm going to put a point in it next level, because apparently it's going to keep coming up. Also inspiration helps a lot :)
Aganhei GM |
Ah. That reminds me, I have to actually begin paying attention to which inspiration uses are free for her and which aren't.
Teruko Kaijitsu |
Freebies are Diplomacy, Sense Motive, and some Knowledges. They're marked with double asterisks on my profile.
I've been trying to be good about keeping my stat line updated, but if you'd like me to handle it some other way just let me know.
Aganhei GM |
Nope, you're good. I just want to make sure I take it down during combat, as well.
Aganhei GM |
I'm going to give Yuto another hour or two to post before I bot him and get you guys moving again.
Hirabashi Yuto |
Omg! I was half day yesterday waiting for my turn to come up!
Oh, well, what to do :P
Aganhei GM |
I'll give Teruko another couple hours to post before moving us on.
(The reason I keep doing this is to make sure everyone can post if they're waiting, but if that's not something people care about, I can be more patient.)
Teruko Kaijitsu |
FYI being botted doesn't bother me at all. If it helps speed things up bot away!
Aganhei GM |
Man, Yuto almost eviscerated that ninja, but that was why he chose to go first.
Hirabashi Yuto |
Should the bleed not be prevented by the heal spells stopping it? I am not sure how that will interact with the poison still being active, but I would hope for at least some momentarily relieve of the condition, specially as bleed happens at the beginning of the turn but saves against poison can be rolled at any time during your turn.
Aganhei GM |
Normally, bleed does get stopped by such healing, but like you said, I'm not wholly clear with regards to how it interacts with the poison. I've been working with the assumption that because it's poison, it does its damage when she fails her save - so whether or not the bleed got stopped by the healing, it restarts and does its damage.
Mind you, Yuto's bleed will get stopped with healing. The poison they're using is red tears, if that helps you figure anything out.
Aganhei GM |
In dim light or darkness, that would have been so much harder. Just saying, you guys got lucky, definitely, though your choice to chase Aspexia down helped.

Please update your status bars when you can - and ideally keep them up to date, because I use those to make my status spoiler anew when the next combat starts. Mind you, that's less critical here than it would be in a dungeon, but you get the picture.
Hana Tenko |
Are the Heal bonuses to Hana's Fort save cumulative? Should she be rolling a +4 or a +8?
Aganhei GM |
Just the +4 (along with her default +2), and I really hope she doesn't bleed out 'cause of this.
