I'm not sure what kind of arrangement you had worked out with Riftun Andochtuir, but comparing Riftun and Atsuko's builds I don't see them being too far apart. Mostly they diverge a bit in spells known and Atsuko being a bit more capable in melee. If there's something in particular that you're needing, let me know. Atsuko has been focused on general party support so far, but there's room for special requests as well I think.
On the subject of favorite APs, I'd have to vote for War for the Crown. Not much in the way of dungeon crawls in that one as of Book 3, but it's not a sandbox like Kingmaker either. It does a great job of providing concrete objectives, but allowing for multiple pathways to to taken in meeting them. We've used a velvet glove approach in the campaign I'm in, and it's been a blast in terms of roleplay. Combat has been minimal, but there's still lots of tension and possibilities for failure. It doesn't have to be played that way though, we've just decided to make violence a last resort if talking, deception, blackmail, etc. won't work.
The problem I've seen with very dungeon crawly APs in PbP is the repetition combined with the slow nature of PbP becomes dull fairly quickly. The biggest offender in this way that I've personally played in is Shattered Star, which is more or less all dungeon crawling. I've heard some other APs are worse quality-wise, like Serpent's Skull and Second Darkness, but I haven't played them.

Apologies for breaking the serious discussion, but I'm not sure I'll be able to post today, since it's a bit of a hectic time once again. Workers in and out, etc, etc. I hope I will, but I can't promise anything.

Understanding Thorborg is invisible, would it be possible Suishen uses see invisibility to help Yuto?

All right, thanks for the feedback all. I'll jump in with Andy when his turn comes up again. In the end I am curious to see where the caravan goes next and what comes after, and quitting now does feel a bit like giving up. I'm not sure on whether to switch characters but that's a concern for a later date at any rate.

I don't know the ins-and-outs of this AP... but it seems like we are wrapping up the city-stuff and will be getting back on the road soon. It'd be a shame to bail now if we are about to get to an area where Andy will shine.
Andochtuir
Yeah, it's been rather unstable lately on my end too.
@Atsuko if you need healing, Andy can heal you to full if you end within 10 feet of his position.

It is a synchronization issue. Basically you are sending your request to the server, but they have multiple servers.
When you request your posted post, it depends if the server is answering has synced or not with the one that received your call.
This was happening a few years ago and they solved it. I guess it is an undesired effect of the servers being moved of location. Some are probably on the new location while others are not yet.
Until Saturday when they finish the process I suggest to write your posts in a google docs or similar online app, and a lot of patience to see your posts appear on the board >_<
Aganhei GM
I always copy my posts after writing them up, in case it refuses to post. Because that's a thing that happens often enough to annoy me.

Yeah, same. I always Ctrl + A and then ctrl + C before clicking that submit button as it's just happened far too often.
Also, looking at the current HP stats in the GM spoiler it seems Yuto and Torra are both much more injured than I thought :O If you ever need to, feel free to fall back to be close to me and I'll use incredible healer with my following turn. Unfortunately I can't approach you myself as it's a fullround action through touch.
Aganhei GM
Isn't Incredible Healer effectively "treat deadly wounds?" Which means they can only benefit from it once per day. That's why I didn't have him use it on Yuto before you went in.
Andochtuir
Yes, but that is why it is usually paired with this other feat, which also is what allows it to be used in combat:
"Healer’s Hands (Conduit)
Your healing efforts are bolstered by positive energy.
Prerequisite(s): Heal 1 rank, Knowledge (planes) 1 rank.
Benefit(s): You can use the Heal skill to treat deadly wounds as a full-round action. You do not take a penalty for not using a healer’s kit when treating deadly wounds this way, and you can do so on a given creature more than once per day. When treating deadly wounds this way, if your result exceeds the DC by 10 or more, add your ranks in Knowledge (planes) to the damage healed. These benefits do not apply to creatures that are not healed by positive energy."
Hirabashi Yuto
Does that mean the healing was stronger for Yuto and he is not going half-life armed against the main module's villain? xD

So i imagine he definitely would have what with Yuto bleeding profusely and all :) But since he didn't and Andy was deaf, i imagine the scene played out like this...
"HEAL ME!"
"Kill me? Yuto, you're young and have your entire life ahead of you! How could you ask me such a thing! The answer is no, now stop asking me!" (Quickly walks off in distress)
Aganhei GM
We can retcon it if you'd prefer, Yuto - but I do like that image. xD
Andochtuir
Okay, with how lethal this new guy seems to be, if we do retcon this, yuto was at 32/58 when entiring the fight. So using 1 more incredible healer:
heals?: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Yeah, he'd be full. That would heal for 44 so it'd save atsuko one wand charge as well. And Yuto would be up 26 hp compared to now.
Aganhei GM
That's a whole lot safer. At least if she doesn't get a crit, because holy crap that's a lot of potential damage.

Wow, thanks a lot! I have missed you so much! :D
[..]stepping forward in the air[..]
I took a 5-foot step, with air walk I think that is no issue, to prevent receiving an AoO and so I could full attack. Sorry if that was not clear enough, but I prefer to avoid writing game terminology too explicitly while explaining my characters actions!

Oh, huh. For some reason, I thought she was 10' away from you. Disregard that hit, then.
Hirabashi Yuto
Yeah, inspire courage has no hard limit other than being able to hear (or see) the performance.
If we want to go zealot on where might be the limits according to the rules, we can look for help in the Perception skill to have a sense of how far away you can be:
Hear the details of a conversation: DC 0
Creature making the check is distracted: +5
Distance to the source, object, or creature: +1/10 feet
So, a creature distracted by combat at 50' away from the bard, only needs to pass a DC 10 Perception check to fully understand the words being said.
I am sure that distance should be no issue. But I can agree 200 feet is probably too far away. But there is no clear ruling really.
Aganhei GM
Huh, I could've sworn it was within 30'. Must've been one of the other performances.
Aganhei GM
Crap, I missed that Torra posted. I'm down with covid, though, so I may not be able to post today. Apologies, everyone.
Torra Voliokerdam
Oh no, hope you recover soon! Take care of yourself, rest above all even if symptoms are mild.
Hirabashi Yuto
Uff, I hope that goes soft on you Aganhei. Take rest. We will be here once you have coup-de-graced the damned virus.
Andochtuir
Same, take care!

Still struggling to throw this thing off, so I'll hopefully get some rest in today.
Hirabashi Yuto
Do not hurry your recovery. As a plus, it is good to see Yuto survive one more day xD

Don't jinx it, Yuto :P

I'm feeling a touch better, but I think I may have to wait until Monday to post. I'm almost over this thing, but still have a nasty cough and stuff.
And yeah, don't jinx it. :P Poor dude is gonna get splattered next time. Fortunately, you're wealthy enough to afford a raise dead spell, at least.

Feeling closer to 100%. Definitely can get a post together tomorrow.
Aganhei GM
And the dicebot's ongoing feud with Torra continues. Sheesh, it just isn't cooperating with you, is it?
Aganhei GM
I'll try to bot Andochtuir later if he doesn't post soonish.
Andochtuir
Sorry, ill get to it in am hour or so.
Aganhei GM
For the record, Yuto's AoO nearly took her out - she was at 2 HP!
Hirabashi Yuto
That is good, because Yuto's base damage is +7 (5 Str, 2 from Suishen enhancement), so still she has 1 hp to flee away and nothing needs to be changed xD
Besides, an epic combat there, it could have gone any way. Yuto's fight with Kima deserves credits to 40% Atsuko, 40% Suishen and just 20% himself (that second attack from full BAB was something there). Special thanks to the dicebot, and for the rest of the team holding the other dangers here of course!
Hirabashi Yuto
Question, does she count as defeated?
Whenever the samurai defeats the target of his challenge, he regains one daily use of his resolve, up to his maximum number of uses per day. Defeating the target of his challenge usually involves reducing the target to 0 hit points or fewer, but the GM might rule that an enemy who surrenders or flees the battle is also defeated.
Aganhei GM
1 person marked this as a favorite.
I'd definitely say that it does count. And noted!
Aganhei GM
I'm going to give everyone else a chance to contribute if they want to.
Hirabashi Yuto
Technically, it's not an outsider, so planes doesn't apply, but it's fine in this case.
Oooops sorry for that! Don't know why I thought planes was being called here.
Hirabashi Yuto
I'm not sure why you're rolling Fortitude, Yuto. I did miss heroism, though, so you're fine with that and not actually blinded.
My apologies for any confusion, I noticed Ritti had to save against the three of them, and thought Yuto would be required too. So I added the two Fort saves, and added heroism to your first roll as I noticed it was missed in your check and would tie Ritti's worst check.
If possible I would prefer to roll saves myself, I feel very helpless when I get incapacitated without even the chance to throw a dice, and deciding when to use resolve and honor in all things is a major feature of my class anyway.
It might have got missed in all the action but Yuto used a move action specifically to close the door to protect the party from getting blinded and the frogs to easily charge on us. If he could not perform that action, then he would have performed one attack at Kidmandatsu instead.
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to continuing the adventure, I know how tough is to run these combats!
