This is the character recruitment following the King recruit from HERE

The Thirteen Kingdoms- Compilation of links and background information, including the maps.

In this round of recruitment, you will be submitting short character pitches to the Three Kings we selected previously (Captain Generica, Cuan, and Simean) for their Kingdoms!

This game is actually 3 games, run simultaneously by three groups each representing one of the 13 Kingdoms of the Fair Lands. Because these Kingdoms are different and working towards different goals, you may interact with the other two tables- including potentially go to war and even meet another party in combat.

Kingdoms are:

Tharbenia

Order of the Righteous Trinity

The Vault of Heaven

The Fair Lands themselves consist of two large islands and several small. They are the rough equivalent in culture and technology level as Iron Age or Dark Age Britain- think Arthurian legends, or the Last Kingdom.

Because there are three very different Kingdoms which may require very different characters for each of them, you are allowed to submit three different pitches (or modifications of your pitch)-- I am also stressing that these are pitches- my goal here is NOT to make you jump through hoops/go to all the effort of making three characters.

Your pitches should be short, but descriptive and include:

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment- about 1 sentence covering this and explaining how your character "works" in the party (i.e. healing, sword and board fighter, archer, ect).

A one sentence description about what your character's role on the King's council is, and how you "earned" that position- i.e. "Fizzleface the Bold was selected for the Role of High Executioner after winning a tournament" or "Weaselnose the Fifth bought his appointment as Lord Chancery of the Treasury, just as his father and grandfather had before him."-- you're pitching this to the King's so making them specific to the Kingdoms will likely help them stand out!

Brief Background Information about the character- give us something interesting or unique about your character as a person in 3 sentences of less- be interesting, but hit the highlights here and stay brief.

IDEALLY you should wait to post until you have your submission for each Kingdom ready- a total of 15 sentences at most.

Character Build Rules:

Again- I am not asking you to build complete characters (especially 3 different ones!) at this time- after the draft we will finish building characters in discussion for the individual games, but these are provided for reference so you have you left and right limits established.

Basics: 3rd level, 25 point point buy (max 18 before racial adjustments), two traits (campaign traits available with approval), MAX HP at all levels, and 3000 gold.

Races
For ALL Kingdoms- Human, Halfling, Dwarves, Elves, Gnomes, Half-elves, Half-Orcs, and Quarterlings.

Tharbenia only- Aasimar (all variants)

Order of the Righteous Trinity only- War Orcs, Kobolds (these races both have "roots"/connection to the Old Empire where the Order originally came from before becoming a nation) (Also, both War Orcs and Kobolds are tweaked races- with appropriate non-terrible Stat modifiers)

The Vault of Heaven only- Tieflings (standard and Hellspawn variants only), Dhamphir, and Fetchlings

Dwarf Races are from this document.

Elf Races

Additional Options- Quarterlings, War Orcs, and Kobolds are included here.

Other races are the same as standard PF1 for mechanics.

Races/Archetypes/Feats All PF1 Paizo races and archetypes are available, and all feats/options except the specific BANNED LIST below. Unchained or ordinary versions of classes are allowed, but Haste is moved to 3rd level for Summoner.

Since this is a potentially competitive/PVP situation, I will NOT be allowing third party/homebrew except the setting specific stuff included in the links above for my world.

Deities and Religions for Divine Casters- additionally, ALL divine casters must worship a deity or faith. There aren't "general clerics" or oracles without gods in this word.

On Gunslingers and other Gun users: Gunslinger and gun using options are available, but Guns and powder are not available in the region- this means you will either have to craft or import any/all guns, and will essentially NEVER find guns in loot/on NPCs.

Banned list: Clustered Shots, the "Pounce Beast" Eidelon (you know what I'm talking about- I'm allowing normal Summoner for greater flexibility, so don't abuse that with the thing that caused it to be generally banned), and the Toppling Spell + thing to reduce the CL increase. (Again, I'm not currently banning either Toppling Spell itself, or options that reduce the CL increase for metamagic, but I am disallowing combining the two for the level 1 Toppling Magic Missile/level 2 Toppling Spiritual Weapons).

Options/Subsystems: We will be using Background Skills, Variant Multclassing is allowed, we are using the Feat Access Combat Stamina rule, and obviously we are using a modified version of Kingdom Building and Army Combat.

We are NOT using Elephant in the Room/other Feat Tax reduction, Automatic Bonus Progression, Words of Power, or any other alternate systems.

The Draft Format!!
The plan is to leave recruitment open for 7 days (till 8 PM Wednesday 17 February), at which point we will begin the draft.

I'll do a roll to determine draft order for the three kings, who will then select their fellow players for their Kingdom in a snake draft format (1, 2, 3, 3, 2, 1, ect) until we have selected FOUR additional characters per Kingdom (bringing each table up to 5 total players/characters per table or 15 total players.)

(Not going to enforce a specific time frame on the King's making their picks, since we will be waiting for three different people to evaluate a bunch of different characters).

Ok! I think I covered everything, but if I missed anything, ask!

Super excited! I’ll be getting the pitches up shortly. And just to prove that I have read the rules, I understand that complete characters are NOT needed. You’ll get them anyways. Because character creation is fun and without it I have difficulty really seeing a character and how he would play.

ORDER OF THE RIGHTEOUS TRINITY

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment- about 1 sentence covering this and explaining how your character "works" in the party (i.e. healing, sword and board fighter, archer, ect).

* Name: Aerith Lithanel
* Race: River Elf
* Class/Archetype: Complicated, but best described as "Eldritch Knight." It's like a Magus. Only with a 2 handed spear. From what I can see, by lvl20 he'd have 15 BaB, spellstrike, lvl9 spells, and the ability to throw summoned spears. So pretty versatile!

* Court wizard. Every kingdom worth it's land needs someone who understands the arcane. To ignore it is to invite disaster, for one's enemies will make use of it. Being a wizard of The Tower and a member of Knights Trinitarum means that he is both qualified and loyal.

Brief Background Information about the character- give us something interesting or unique about your character as a person in 3 sentences of less- be interesting, but hit the highlights here and stay brief.

* The Tower. A place for the learned ignorant and filled with the wisdom of fools. What is the point of power not used? They called him mad. They called him a monster. They wanted nothing to do with him, for the only thing he cared about was the practical application of arcane power. Luckily for Aerith, he found the Knights Trinitarum, an organization which values his skill with a spear and his ability to use it.

THE VAULT OF HEAVEN

Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment- about 1 sentence covering this and explaining how your character "works" in the party (i.e. healing, sword and board fighter, archer, ect).

* Ankhef Spellsplitter
* Dwarven Panlopy Savant Occultist VMC Wizard
* Anti-magic Wizard Hunter. Really turns on at level 5. But you have a dwarf with high saves, lots of dispel magic, flight, the ability to see invisible enemies, full BaB, and by lvl7 a good ranged attack. Basically, everything needed to hunt down the arcane. And absent enemy magic users? Still a versatile full BaB warrior.

* A Storm Dwarf nobleman, whose clan has risen to prominence amongst the Dwarven population of the kingdom. On the council he represents the interests of the rising number of dwarves. He earned his position via a mixture of bravery in the field, with a healthy dose of behind the scenes politicking and an advantageous arranged marriage.

Brief Background Information about the character- give us something interesting or unique about your character as a person in 3 sentences of less- be interesting, but hit the highlights here and stay brief.

* One of Ankhef’s earliest memories is fleeing his home in the mountains with storm giants in pursuit. This is what led his people to immigrate to The Vault of Heaven. He believes that a strong and stable government is the only thing that can stop such tragedies, and puts the need for law far above that of good. (Lawful Neutral alignment)

THARBENIA

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment- about 1 sentence covering this and explaining how your character "works" in the party (i.e. healing, sword and board fighter, archer, ect).

Name: Eldric Lightbringer
Race: Aasimar
Class: Unchained Monk of the Mantis VMC Rogue
- Players very much like a rogue. Disable device (including magic traps), high perception, stealth, sneak attack (maxes at 10d6). Just with all of the things that come with being a monk as well. Such as flurry of blows, being unarmed, and being very mobile.

* Eldric was raised by the church to be a protector for figures of great import, tasked with keeping them safe from all threats. He earned this position having been the top of his (surviving) class.

Brief Background Information about the character- give us something interesting or unique about your character as a person in 3 sentences of less- be interesting, but hit the highlights here and stay brief.

* Eldric is a monk in the church of the Church of Pacifa. The third son of a noble house, he was never in line for an inheritance, and as such was given to the church at a young age to increase the family's prestige. He rose through the ranks, not only due to his aasimmar blood, but also due to his hard work.

Grumbaki three characters? Your a madman! Perchance a lovable, wonderful, Caffeine Addicted madman, but still a madman. I will enter one character. This is RH's character, Ivar. My first Barbaric character and still my favorite. With his world view he could fit any of the three kingdoms. He is patterened after the Vikings who served in Constantinople as the body guards of the king.

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment-
Ivar is a human barbarian Bloodrager (arcane bloodline: spell eater archetype) mercenary, with a clear dislike for wizards. He is neutral and will lean whichever way the money pays him to.

A one sentence description about what your character's role on the King's council is, and how you "earned" that position-
Ivar earned the right to 'speak' with the king after trouncing five of his guards in a bar brawl and getting himself arrested. Once before the king, he introduced himself as a northern mercenary captain from the continent, having fought in the Kingdom Land wars. He expressed that having a mercenary with no local interest except that of the king, serving as cup bearer and body guard, would be in the kings best interest. While his military experience would serve well on the council. not really familiar with the council roles, but captain of the guard, military general, possibly admiral or spy master/head of the inquisition would probably fit.

Brief Background Information about the character about ten years ago
Ivar loved the sea and hated farm work. At an early age he determined he would part with tradition and live a life of adventure. When Ivar came of age he sailed with his father on the longship 'The Linnorm's Claw' under captain Tavar "the Lame." While on a raid, during fierce fighting, he anchored the right flank of the shield wall and surviving; earned a name. When the battle was over and the captain was congratulating his victorious crew, he saw Ivar; bloodied and bruised, having lost his helmet during the fight, his long blond curly hair hanging about his face like a lion’s mane. The captain blurted out with a laugh "well Goldilocks I see your none worse for wear!" Ivar became a named man, "Goldilocks." It was a name, that's all that matter. There were worse names to be had and he'd have words with anyone who said otherwise. When 'The Linnorms Claw' returned to port He asked father to kiss mother and sisters for him and he took a job on the first ship he could find headed towards the 'Kingdom Lands' to sell his sword.

DM, how do you feel about aging penalties? I have an idea for an incredibly flavorful but potentially cheesy barbarian utilizing the Spring Rage rage power.

Hrm. . . interesting?

I think it could work, but also I should mention that this game is expected to be "slow paced" from a level/years stand point- we will almost certainly have months at a time when we advance through Kingdom turns only, and hopefully will cover several total decades of in game time over the course of the campaign.

For transparency, I'm building a TN kobold Elemental unMonk 1, Barbarian 2, will immediately progress into Immortal Dragon Blood at level 4, either relying on the kobold racial feats for a Unarmed Strike/Natural Attack build, or just doing Extra Rage/Extra Rage Power(/Extra Breath Arcana if you would allow that) as often as I can to supplement the low base CON and few rage rounds, especially since I would be entirely dependent on rage to be at all effective in combat (in combat raising my DEX by 6 and STR/CON by 8)

The fluff is either this ageless, near death kobold elder/sage who has literally been alive for millennia (hence Immortal Dragon Blood) and remembers the dragons and thus has a position of great importance for the kobolds, or just an old old old verbal storyteller, who keeps the myths and legends of the dragons and has the words memorized but has never chosen a successor to tell the stories to, and either way is essentially a courtier in the Order of the Righteous Trinity (and either them or their predecessor was likely a courtier in Aldea before that) as a speaker for the kobolds to protect their interests in the kingdom.

The build works fine without age penalties and will probably remain an old kobold if you decide to not allow the age effects, but it's really nice and versatile with them.

Also considering Skald or Primalist Bloodrager

dotting because this sounds amazing even though I probably shouldn't take on another game at the moment xD

If I do make a submission, It'll probably be a rebuild of a character I already have or starting with a Chosen One Paladin (which could be argued is actually a rebuild of Unk the Conjurer (the Diviner) but I digress...)

hopefully I'll find time ^^

How do you feel about the Alternate SLA's table for aasimar or tieflings?

A good question. Though in my aasimar's case, I'm not sure that I'd want to trade out the SLA. :P

Also, glad to see some more submissions coming in. This campaign should be alot of fun!

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment- about 1 sentence covering this and explaining how your character "works" in the party (i.e. healing, sword and board fighter, archer, ect).
Human cleric healing/buffing/variant channel chelaxian who has travelled to these lands worshipping Dispater using Trickery as domain archetype evangelist.

I will be a charisma and wisdom build giving bardic bonuses in combat or demanding you bow down to the rule of might with my daze variant channel build.

Brief Background Information about the character- give us something interesting or unique about your character as a person in 3 sentences of less- be interesting, but hit the highlights here and stay brief. While I am not evil I am not good either. Being lawful neutral means in that oh so Judge Dred way that I am judge, jury, and enforcer. Ever seen Kingdom of Heaven? I am a templar knight: "Dispater wills it!"

Very interesting. I don't think I have time to play but will eye this with some interest for the time being.

What are expectations for posting rate?

@lobster- yes alternate SLAs are allowed for aasimar and tieflings. (As are most racial alternates- if you're looking at an elf or dwarf one and the setting races don't have the ability it swaps for ask and I'll determine what it replaces).

@caster4life- posting rate is the usual once a day once over the weekend, with a heads up if you will be absent an extended time.

In that case, I think that I'll go for the roll.

Alternate Physical Features - How does he look different? Useful given his low Cha: 1d100 ⇒ 80 clothing billows even without wind

Alternate SLA: 1d100 ⇒ 50 +2 Racial on Wisdom
Awesome for a monk! But...it trades out see invisibility. Which is *really* useful given that there may be PvP against casters, and not being able to see an enemy takes him out of the fight. Is this something that he has to take? Because not sold on it, even though it is a really good roll

No- you can roll to lock in your alternate choice, but then still decide to stick with the standard.

Hey Oxnard, I'm getting my (ridiculous) concept down, and I noticed that your homebrew doc only provides stats for the Orcs of Righteousness. Are the other two tribes of orcs not available for play, or they are, and their stat adjustments are the same? Thanks.

Awesome. I'll leave his profile as is with the SLA (still leaning towards that). If by chance he is selected (big if) I'll revisit it.

Questions for each of the three kings:
A. What kind of mechanical party play style are you looking for? Kick the door down and smash, sneaky, everyone does something similar, a well-rounded team of specialists with different roles, etc etc etc?

B. What kind of fluff party play style are you looking for? I mean, what do you want the party to feel like?

@Andostre- yes, that was an oversight based on which document I copied them from, I've updated it.

Should read:

Orcs of Righteousness (either +2 Str, +2 Cha, –2 Dex or +2 Con, +2 Cha, –2 Wis), Orcs of the Hunt (+2 Str, +2 Wis, –2 Dex or +2 Con, +2 Wis, –2 Int) or Orcs of Slaughter (+2 Str, +2 Int, –2 Dex or +2 Con, +2 Int, –2 Cha).

Howdy! Addanc the Ruthless here, ruler of The Vault of Heaven here to provide my answer to @caster4life's questions!

Mechanically, I want people to have fun! Addanc may be lawful evil, but I'm sure not! Addanc would hire a number of different people, he recognizes the strength of difference, albeit somewhat reluctantly, but if you're on the council I recommend not being too chaotic or you might run into some problems with the king. He likes everything to be ordered and well planned out, so not really a kick the door in and hope everything works out kinda guy. He has no problem with working with good aligned people, and wants to strengthen his kingdom, he is also just prideful, paranoid, and has no problem with using violence, trickery, or other unethical techniques to achieve his goals. He would have completely revamped his council after his father passed, not wanting any association with the man.

Addanc does not trust people, although he wishes he could. He is searching for love, and the only person he truly cares about is his brother. He enjoys writing music under a pen name, and it's the only thing that makes him feel true happiness at the moment. Feel free to work any of that in!

Personally, I have no problem with people who might have conflict with Addanc, as long as you're aware that if he perceives you as being more of a threat than your usefulness, he will try to dispose of you. I actively enjoy being PM'd, and I love discussing builds, concepts, and pretty much anything with anyone who is interested!

Thanks, Addanc! Helpful to know.

GM Oxnard: Can you help me understand how the party's will work a little better? Mostly, I'm wondering if the king has a special role in deciding what to do next, organizing note-taking, etc. It's definitely fine with me if he is in charge of the party's loot notes, most decisions, etc. I'm also fine with sharing those burdens equally. Just curious what the expectations are.

Hey folks! Adweard here, ruler of the Order of the Righteous Trinity.

I figure I'll give a rundown on Adweard's general character and methods for character building.

Chaotic characters will get along best with him, but despite that he strongly emphasizes good strategy and careful planning. Just because his morality steers him away from meticulous order, battle is a different thing entirely.

He's got strong moral convictions, seeing it as his divine duty to combat evil and excessive law. He has similar expectations of those he associates with, but is willing to tolerate and even celebrate those with differing opinions as long as they are also interested in the greater good of things.

Adweard can be quite hot-headed at times though, and his naturally martial temperament can be goaded towards conflict without too much difficulty, so cooler tempers could be a useful addition to the council.

Looking past the pomp, ceremony, and religious fervor, the Order is a boisterous and free-spirited organization. They began as a wandering fellowship, and though they've settled down there's still a strong spirit of celebration and camaraderie. I'd like my adventuring party to reflect that.

That type of stuff we will have to work together to work out as groups once we are set- out of character, no- the Kings don't have extra responsibilities once the "draft" is over- it was more a mechanic for the Kingdom pitches and building the groups.

In character, the "King" I suppose can flex as much or as little power as they desire- though I hope within groups we can be harmonious and good sports about everything.

Thanks, Adweard!

Thanks, Oxnard!

Further question for Oxnard: Care to give any hints about what kind of challenges to expect? Lots of fighting in tight spaces or in wide open areas? Lots of intrigue or not? Investigation important? Similar to your Gold Peak game?

Also, what would be the most relevant languages?

It will be more sand box than the Gold Peak game-- I'd say court intrigue +combat battlefield primarily, though I wouldn't rule out a smattering of everything else.

Languages-- common IS draconic. Past that, racial languages.

Oh yeah, another important note about the Dhampirs in The Vault. Addanc hates the undead. A lot. He understands Dhampirs to be victims of undeath in their own right, but in order to be accepted into society they would have to renounce their necrotic taint, and undergo a (non-magical) purification ritual.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

submission 1) This submission could concievably work with any kingdom, but probably fits best with the Order of the Righteous Trinity:

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment-
Frank Engels, Human, Unchained Summoner, NG
Out of combat will primarly handle rogue-y things (his eidolon, Broulnindre, will essentially be a rogue/scout), in combat he'll primarily use Summon Monster.

A one sentence description about what your character's role on the King's council is, and how you "earned" that position-
Frank E. was given a permanent position (probably magister) after winning a tournament with his summoned monsters.

Brief Background Information about the character-
Frank's tragic backstory is not well known, but his fearsome summoned monsters are. Thanks to Broulnindre, he can be in two places at once when he isn't on the battlefield. The few that know of "B" know that she's the only one allowed to call him "Franky" for some reason.

submission 2) For Thurbenia, since that's the only kingdom that a paladin could tolerate that could also tolerate a paladin:

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment-
Timothy son of Rimothy (Tim the beautiful), Halfling, Paladin/Chosen One (of Shelyn, pet shilvanshee, eventually Arcane Archer), LG
Will be primarily ranged support as well as eventually handing out low level paladin and sorc buffs. Also, at 9th, going to get obscuring mist at bow range, haha

A one sentence description about what your character's role on the King's council is, and how you "earned" that position-
Timothy inherited his station as a noble of the kingdom of Tharbenia from his father Rimothy before him (whose exact station and cause of death are highly negotiable)

Brief Background Information about the character-
Tim the beautiful occasionally rides his son Jimothy, a quarterling, into battle. He is well known for his prowess with a bow as well as his love of ponies and his cat Bubbles.

also, Jimothy should post his submission soonish, hopefully it'll be right below these two

So, you're basically saying that despite the race option, it really isn't an option?

It is though? A dhampir vampire Hunter who hates the undead would work. It’s just that a vampiric dhampir not so much. It’s one of the perks of getting the kingdom selected in that they have more say in setting building.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This application goes best with Timothy (who goes best with Tharbenia) as I am his son and let him ride around on my back. When I turned 4, I was too big for my halfling father to give me piggy back rides. By the time I turned 10, we had fully traded roles.

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment:
Jimothy son of Timothy, quarterling, bloodrager 1 (primalist+metamagic rager)/fighter 2 (high guardian/seasoned commander) (all further levels will be in bloodrager: reach fighting battlefield controller/tripper) CG. Jimothy will be hard to hit thanks to Timothy's mounted combatant feat. Jimothy also has bodyguard, helpful, and 4 AoOs per round (6 while raging, more as str increases) to add +4 AC to adjacent allies (plans to boost his aid another more around level 7). He'll be using 10 ft reach minimum, growing to 15 at level 4 and maxing out at 30.

Role on council:
Naturally, Jimothy is a born bodyguard! He's a strong fighter with a focus on guarding those around him. While at a court dinner with his father, Jimothy was at the right place at the right time and deflected a poisoned dagger blow aimed for Handeribald III.

Brief background info:
Raised by his cheerful father Timothy, Jimothy was a happy young lad. However, he literally outgrew his father in his teen years and is full of angst and rage. It doesn't take much for him to perceive a slight or injustice and react strongly. But regardless, he maintains a strong (if grumpy) loyalty to those close to him.

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment:
Ichabod Carbuncle, Gnome, Sorcerer/Cross-blooded, blaster with some buffing, battlefield control, and a tiny bit of utility casting, also can be party face, CG. 4d4+8 burning hands at level 3.

Role on council:
His renowned showcases of alchemical and magical entertainment give him natural contacts at various courts. Thanks to these connections, the charming and clever gnome makes an excellent diplomat.

Brief background info:
Fascinated by alchemical reactions, Ichabod stumbled upon magical synergy with those reactions by mistake. His wonder truly awoken, he became famous for the diversity of problems he could solve with fire from melting off door hinges to lighting up a starlit soiree.

I think the intent is a "no undead users", so Dhamphirs who are your brooding Blade types work, but a Dhamphir who embraces being undead and becomes a necromancer undead lord would be seen as tainted.

(Dhamphir don't even have any abilities which actually benefit them when creating or controlling undead, so I don't think its actually a negation of the race).

I believe this is based in the religion's (Hapi) focus on natural death and against undead.

That! Exactly, thank you Oxnard!

Character Name, Race, Class/Archetype (and role/build plan if multiclass along the way), and alignment:
Mara Thorngage, quarterling, summoner/master summoner (variant multiclass bard), NE. With VMC bard, the flagbearer feat and eventually the banner of the ancient kings, Mara will be throwing out big numerical bonuses to the whole party, especially her legion of summons. Her knowledge and face skills + her sneak-thief eidolon add value out of combat.

Role on council:
Mara's silver tongue and quick mind helped her work her way up the Vault's hierarchy, leveraging a multitude of rules to earn her place as Mistress of Coin. More than once, a scheming nobleman tried to remove her from his path only to find his goons or himself swallowed by a horde of monsters.

Brief background info:
While her father Cranthy seeks to elevate the halfling people through activism, Mara has no such delusions. She knows that each individual must earn their place or fall. As her less idealistic human mother, a former slave, taught her:
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken."

Ok my three character pitches are up. I have most of the crunch done on all three as well but, as instructed, I'm not prioritizing that. Let me know if you want to see a finished crunch or more details on the fluff!

Oxnard, I assume that if one of a player's characters are drafted, their other characters become ineligible? It seems impractical and maybe undesirable for a player to play the same game at multiple tables?

especially if those PCs are in kingdoms that go to war with eachother, haha

Yes correct- the goal is to have three parties of 5 for 15 total without overlap.

Greetings,

This is God King Handeribald III, ruler of beautiful Tharbenia. A bit later than my fellow Kings, but hopefully still in time for most.

Like his mother, the former God Queen, before him, Handeribald is Lawful Good, with a focus on Good over Law.
Despite his Good-ness he has been raised with the idea that Aasimar are better than almost any other race, and Aasimar with connections to angels to in turn be slightly better than other Aasimar. Do note that he also knows there are exceptions to all of this, like his own twin brother, but those are not the rule. Most will need to be sheltered and cared for.
Do note this is purely based on upbringing and Handeribald is actually rather naïve where it concerns the world outside the palace grounds.

As to be expected, LG, NG and even N characters are an easy fit. LN can be as long as they focus on order and organisation above literal law (Handeribald himself is above the law, God King and all). CG would fit if they are more diplomatic. CN works fine within the kingdom, less so in court.
When it comes to evil, CE simply doesn't work. LE and NE, on the other hand, could. Not if you're the cackling kind that raises undead and does more blatantly evil things, but a more subtle one could work. After all, nearly half of the nobles advising Handeribald are actually rather nasty folk behind their own closed doors.
As a general note, nobles are more likely to be part of the council. Commoners would need to have proven themselves in some way.

Ideally I'd like to have at least 1 member of the Divine Lancer Corpse, knights riding celestial horses and the country's most prestigious military force, among the group. Do note that to be part of this you need to be a noble.

what about celestial pony riding halfling that can also ride his son into battle? :3
Would a celestial pony be celestial horse-ish enough? Or Jimothy for that matter? xD

Not that celestial but you can make *celestial* noises while you ride me.

Handeribald, can you give me more of an idea of how you intend to play the God King aspect? It seems like it could be a great opportunity for RP or intraparty conflict, depending on how things went down.

Sadly, can't see Eldric being part of the Divine Lancer Corps. Just wouldn't fit the build/character. But did do some slight tweaking, to add abit to the holy monk feel. Archetypes chosen are now Monk of the Mantis and Soul Shepherd. Lost Acid resistance 5 and gained Negative Energy resistance 5 and DR 2/adamantine. A good trade, and a flavorful one.

So now he's more than just a LG Monk/Rogue. He can also calm spirits, and eventually free trapped souls.

Crunch finished for Mara and in profile. Happy to change the crunch upon selection and team integration. Highlights:
1. Utility eidolon has +15 disable device and can fly.
2. Mara has decent face and knowledge skills.
3. Can summon a bunch of things at once.
4. Flagbearer and waving a Vault flag grants +1 morale to hit and damage to allies within 30 ft all day long. These bonuses will get a lot bigger as vmc bard kicks in and I get certain items.
5. Craft wondrous items for the party.
6. Decent battlefield control, buff, and utility casting.

Disappointed to see haste is changed to 3rd level for summoners but it's VERY reasonable. XD

1 person marked this as a favorite.

@Eldric: To be honest, Eldric already was a very easy fit. He's an Aasimar, a noble and a member of the Church of Pacifa, all the things that get you far in Tharbenia.

@Jimothy: On the God King part, Handeribald really believes he should set an example on how to live. So while he officially is above the law, he does abide to it, at least to it's spirit. You could say that where others are forced to obey the law he does because he is convinced they are a good thing and he chooses to. He wants to be a good and moral ruler that people can admire and adore. He wants to deserve praise and not to be praised because he happens to be king.

@ScegfOd: Celestial ponies are fine but do note you'd have to have distinguished yourself in some major way to join the corpse without being noble born, which being a halfling isn't in the cards within Tharbenia. That said, Jimothy already provides you another route, as he must have a human mother who could be from a noble family, even if being human would place her at the bottom of the pecking order among nobles.

I'll do a roll up of submission status later tonight when I have a chance.

Oh, no aasimar halflings, then? :P

More seriously, it'd be easy to change the fluff so that Tim the beautiful attracted the attention of a noble woman, either human or mostly human (aasimar) :D

which makes me curious...
@Oxnard: Are there non human aasimars in this world? I remember something about changing size but otherwise using the normal stats for standard PF...
(not that I need to care about crunch there, but still. Changes the options available for Timothy and Jimothy)

Though I suppose being at the bottom of the pecking order and a quarterling would be a great reason for Jimothy's extra angst :3

Oh, and I almost forgot:
@God King Handerbald III: in addition to those options, Tim is literally the chosen one of a good aligned goddess (NG like Shelyn. Her if she's available). So that familiar he has that's guiding him would be a great way to distinguish himself as well ^^

Yes- I suppose there could be non-human aasimar, and yes- you use all the aasimar abilities except for they look like the other race.

Cool. Question for Jimothy: Can quarterlings take feats and traits restricted to halflings? I was assuming yes because half-orcs and half-elves count as both "human and elf|orc for any effects related to race" and typically share race-specific feats, etc.

Assuming it's fine, Jimothy's crunch is done and in his profile. Willing to change things up to fit the party. Just want to give a specific idea of what Jimothy does.

Highlights:
1. Decent hp. 40 or 46 while raging.
2. Surprisingly hard to hit despite his terrible AC because of reach and the first hit of each round having to beat Timothy's ride check (mounted combatant).
3. Reach and 4 aoos per round, 6 while raging, and increasing as Jimothy's strength increases.
4. Ok to-hit and damage that will scale pretty well. +8 for 1d10+11 and 19-20/x2 crits.
5. Meh skills. Good at climbing and swimming.
6. +4 to adjacent ally ac that can proc at least 4 times a round, thanks to bodyguard. That bonus and number of times will both grow.
