Yes, it really is 24 at this tier (actually both tiers), it's because of the many Leshys that are walking around the area, it's almost impossible to sneak by.

Sovereign Court

Action Symbols: (◆), (◆◆), (◆◆◆), (◇), (↺) | || Current Map ||

Had you have gone for the Direct approach ... all the Leshys would have ignored you so that you could have spoken to the Leshy Crafter straight off.

Also you have Hero Points and you don't need to be trained in a skill to use it, Nature or Arcana, as training doesn't seemed to have helped much ....

Of course, because how else would it (the direct approach) work.
Bit of a sigh, here.

Sorry. Just checking, but who gets to go first. We can only see us in the initiative.

Barrek and Sky are up ... it says under

Perhaps I should have bolded who is up too.

Ah. Sorry about that. Didn't see that, for some reason. :)

No worries Toadlicker, I do the same ...

Don't suppose I can redo my turn based on Sky falling down, since that would have been before any of us took our actions?

I started adjacent to him, so I could apply a potion fairly easily (though it won't give a ton of hp), and still make the flurry strike.
Would leave me flanked, but such is the cost, I suppose.

Yes you can redo your go Barrek ....

Posted, thanks.

Would flanking help Toadlicker's attempt? :D

Not for grappling, as it doesn't affect AC, but I would be providing flanking for you.

Multiple burst abilities with hard dcs vs level 1s. Sigh.

Doesn't matter now - just kill it, please.

Sovereign Court

Action Symbols: (◆), (◆◆), (◆◆◆), (◇), (↺) | || Current Map ||

Actually grappling it is your best option .....

Anything that lowers fort or con would help, but if Sky and Barrek had grappled like Toadlicker you would have had this encounter finished by now ...

Toadlicker trying to remove the stone is a really good option ..but can't remove the stone til he's grappled .... or otherwise incapacitated ..

The rules don't have a pin action. Thievery stipulates that it fails during combat.
Grappling and pulling the stone out, if an option, needs to be presented by the text as such. Not something to be guessed at.

None of that balances out multiple multi-attack abilities, which are often a death-knell to level 1 characters, especially at dc20. Seriously, who thought That was appropriate.

Pinned, no, but there is the 'Restrained' condition, on a Critical Success.

Not sure if that's what they're referring to.

That aoe attack is honestly insane, especially if they are expecting us to figure out that one person needs to grapple while the other removes the stone, moving multiple people up close only forces us to face that aoe attack head on. On top of that, those large bones provide cover but that means absolutely nothing to the aoe attack either.
