Sky pulls the stone from the Leshy's eye, as Barrek lies on the floor next to him coming in and out of consciousness.
The leshy crafter stands stock still for a moment, hedl in Toa;dloicker's grasp. Raising a hand the Leshy touches the gaping hole in his face where the cyclopean shard had so recently rested. He gingerly probes the hole, swaying and feeling heavy in Toadlicker's arms like a sapling in the wind. “Oh. Oh.”
The leshy crafter looks about slowly, taking in the twisted and deformed leshys, the Abyssal plant life, the burnt and ruined valley. “...it’s possible that I might have misinterpreted one or two things.” There is a very long pause. “Oops.”
It looks at Sky holding the now dull stone in his hands, before looking up at the monk, "Hmmm" then sees the dwarf on fire next to him, "Did I? oh dear!"
The other leshy's seem somewhat disorientated with the crafter's connection to the abyssal energies ended, they stop and stand a moment, looking around somewhat dazed. The other leshys that stand momentarily before there seems to be a collective shrug of the shoulders and they wander all off leaving the Pathfinder's to decide their next move.

And please remember that Barrek is currently Dying 2 and gently smouldering away as the fire is starting to consume him.
Thurk von Wolkowitz |
Thurk hurries to try and help Barrek, dragging him out of the fire, trying to put the fire out with his cloak, and treating the burns:
Medicine: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Healing: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7
Once done, he wipes sweat off his brow.
"Ugh... maybe I should think about changing my profession. Seems that salves and sutures are more effective at protecting people compared to the arcane arts."
He looks at the stone shard in Sky's hand. "I think we need to get this to the Lodge for study. Maybe the Society can find out what caused it to activate and find a way to prevent the other stones in Finadar from activating."
The Shark of Gozreh |
Relieved, Sky falls to the ground exhausted and takes a second to rest, extremely hurt from the fight. He closes his eyes and listens to the wind to try and regain his composure with the abyssal rock shard still in his grasp.
Toad licker |
Looking a little disappointed that Sky got the stone before he did, he lets go of the leshy, then looks over at Barrek. "I help," the goblin says as he creeps over to the dwarf, and starts licking the flames!
"Spicy!" he proclaims.
Using an aid action to bring the DC down to 10.
DM Deevor |
Just need Barrek to get rid of the flames ....
Barrek Half-Dead |
Already stopped and dropped, so rolling sounds good.
With three people working on the problem, I would argue that qualifies for the automatic success.
If not, 1d4 ⇒ 1 1d20 ⇒ 8 1d4 ⇒ 1 1d20 ⇒ 12 after two turns the fire is out, and Barrek is still at 5 hp.
DM Deevor |
With Barrek now breathing a sigh of relief through his blackened and burnt beard, he once again realises that his name was nearly changed from Barrek Half-Dead, but doesn't dwell on it.
The Leshy Crafter smiles as the waves of healing gently bring the dwarf back to life, "Good crafts!....." as his voice trails off, the crafter starts to wander off into the valley muttering, "Must fix them...will correct them.."
The Pathfinders are left in a group together watching as the leshys wander away, no longer a threat to Finadar Forest and leaving a small chunk of the monolith in Sky's hands. However they are also left with a huge stone block covered with strange scribblings that Toadlicker tells you is the focus of the abyssal energies in this part of the forest. The goblin open his mouth to show his teeth, with small scratches in the enamel which he attributes to the bite into the stone. You quickly learn that the outright destroying of the monolith is extremely difficult, as it’s an enchanted hunk of rock. Surely it is these carvings into the rock, these abyssal signs that provide it's power.
You take a chisel and strategically defacing a few cyclopean runes you disable the Abyssal connection to this part of the forest.
With your work done here, you journey back to the the centaur's camp. Where Urwal greets you asking how the mission fared. Learning of your success he gives you a a single beacon shot saying dryly, “A warrior’s weapon”.1 Treasure Bundle.
As you tell him that you managed to free the leshy crafter from his corruption, Urwal is very pleased, "Good, it will allow the corruptions to be corrected and the forest leshys can be crafted to help in the correction.".
The next morning, a still-rather disturbing ileshy trundles out of the woods with a “a legendary sword, for the good monsters.” The sword reflects the sunlight from its silver blade of a silver longsword with the image of a grasping arm etched into its blade. the “legendary sword” is a low-grade silver longsword, 2 Treasure Bundles. Ads the Leshy hands the blade to you, it bows it's head, able once more to communicate in a language you understand, "Blackberry thanks you, you are heroes of the forest for removing the impediment from Blackberry's eye. We honour you!"
Later that day Urwal departs from the Redpines, he is accompanied by Jaldan who thanks you and in her farewell says "I will go with Urwal, who is going to let me train as a Pathfinder so that I can one day be a better shaman to the Redpine clan."
The Redpines let you stay several days in the camp as you recover from your injuries and regroup before your trip back to report back to the Pathfinder lodge. Your mission completed.
I will get the certs completed as soon as possible, hopefully by Monday. The game will be made inactive 1 week after I make the certs available.
Toad licker |
Toadlicker admires his new war-wounds (on his teeth?!) and seems preoccupied to everything going on around him. That is, until Jaldan makes her way to greet them, and his attention is firmly rooted on her feet. He nods in agreement to Thurk's congratulations, but opts not to say anything. After a bit though, his stomach grumbles, and he pulls out the strange doll from his belt and says, "Buggie bring me food?"
When it does reply, he shakes it a couple times before tucking it back in his belt and wandering off to look for something to eat.
Agreed! Thank you very much. That was a fun one. :)
Vinny Santorini |
Vinny thanks Urwal and Jaldan for the hospitality. "It was quite the journey, we appreciate the opportunity to rest up afterwards! I wish you all the best in your Pathfinder training Jaldan, I hope we get the chance to work together again."
Thank you for the game everyone!
Barrek Half-Dead |
Barrek is introspective during the walk back to the camp.
Once there, he is more interested in grinding the eye-stone to dust upon the blacksmith's anvil than packaging it for transport back to the lodge.
Satisfied, he wishes Jaldan well on her journey, both physical and spiritual.
When Urwal departs, he stares after him for several long moments, shaking his head and muttering to himself.
The Shark of Gozreh |
Sky gets patched up at the camp and is relieved to hear that Jaldan will receive more training to become another ally to nature. Once fully healed, he gathers his meager belongings and pays each of his allies a visit and wishes them safe travels before leaving for another adventure.
Thanks all, good luck out there! Thank you GM for running us!
