I meant, a iron sword samurai 3, and a fighter 4( on one side, so level 7) would have the bonus feats of a level 6 fighter correct? And armor training would be counted as a level 7 fighter. Since the samurai class levels count as fighters for fighter class features? The bonus feats being a fighter class feature.
Either way. I'm thinking of making a phantom theif rogue/pure martial. the idea being they don't have the talent for magic, so must rely purely on their grit, skill, determination and will.

Haven’t completely settled my concept yet, but I’m thinking something like a Tiefling Antipaladin/Bloodrager(or Barbarian) of Moloch. It would probably go one of two ways:
Antipaladin/Bloodrager(Elemental Fire) with the half-fiend template
Or
Antipaladin/Barbarian with the Sorcerer template (taking the Elemental Fire bloodline and concentrating on Fire spells)
Would one or both of those work, GM?
Also, does the sorcerer template have the same Arcane Spell Failure that a normal sorcerer does? I’m not seeing any mention of it on Archives of Nethys, but if it does I probably need to change that plan since I’m planning to wear armor.

Name: Damon Von Brandt.
Crime: High Treason
Alignment: LE
Race: Human
Template: half-fiend
Class 1: Unrogue(phantom thief)
Class 2: TBA (leaning samurai/fighter/or even possibly monk)
Backstory: Former noble, saw his family and fortune whittled down through a combination of bad luck, corruption and "church tithes". He lost family due to false accusations of heresy/witchery. Eventually, he sought greater power and control in hopes of regaining some of what he had seen his family lose as he grew up and so was caught up in a noble plot to overthrow the current regent, effectively dooming the entire noble house. In fact, several of the supposed accomplice houses were the ones to turn him and the others over to the authorities. Having lead Balin and other knights to one of their important meetings.
I think the half-fiend would come with the official signing of the pact with Thorn. As I see Damon being rather devout follower to the deity that offers him everything and more.
In depth background is in the works.

A regular drow is fine for this. There is nothing in the backstory of this character that mentions Talinguarde so I'm guess you are going to update that? I'll want to know how the template is a part of the character too. I am not sure how the Physical Exemplar works, could you explain what it does to Fighters? I am ok with the War Scholar. For half-dragon: start with +1 natural armour, darkvision 60ft., low-light vision, immune to sleep, no flight(wings not strong enough yet), 2 claws and bite, breath weapon 1/day 2d6 damage in a 60ft. line of mithral shards that count as silver for DR purposes, str/con/int/cha +1.
Thank you for the adjustments...I will correct it soon. Holidays are kicking my butt right now.
I have not done the adjustments on the backstory yet...
Some people are just more fit than their kindred and allies. For whatever reason, some physical exemplars are able to perform feats of muscle, speed, and endurance at the outer edge of mortal capability. Some physical exemplars focus all their development on a single aspect of their physique while others work to be better in all areas. This archetype package is most commonly taken by barbarians and monks, though certainly any fighting character can benefit from it.

Spazmodeus Any pathfinder template is open for consideration. There are a few that would not be allowed, such as half-celestial. The eternal template doesn't allow you to gain levels or HD so that's also out. There may be others that I disallow but I'll let people know.
Simeon There are at least 3 templates I can find from a quick look that make you a skeleton (skeleton, skeleton warrior, skeletal champion), perhaps there are others. I'm sure there is a in game way it could work.
Ouachitonian Yes if you cast arcane spells as a sorcerer, armour imparts a spell failure chance.
Oxnard Kettlebeak It means you are gestalt level 2. Gestalt is getting the abilities of two classes at each level. Technically you could be 1/1/1/1 in four classes (but just have 2HD). I understand it can get confusing.
Nymz Mlezziir So does a Physical Exemplar get Prowess, Exercise and Practise plus the abilities in the fighter's battle master package?

Name: Demian Pirevam (dem-E-an, pEr-eh-vam)
Crime: Sedition
Alignment: NE (leaning toward LE)
Race: Elf
Template: Vampire
Class 1: Psychic
Class 2: Occultist (Silksworn)
Backstory:
"I am very self-indulgent elven man. This was all fine and good until the Knights of Alerion came through my town and began rounding up my partners in indugence. Apparently fraud, extortion, forgery, and slavery are all illegal in Talingarde. I was actually pretty okay with Pivel the Slaver being taken. He was a weird, awkward fellow. Terrible to have at parties. Nevertheless, the others were useful and pleasant enough. My contributions were not overly obvious, so I got passed over on the first gatherings. I wisely decided to lay low.
I thought that they would fulfill their 'cleaning' compulsion with their gatherings and leave, but they stayed, AND investigated further. Well, I got right angry and decided that this would not do. So I reached out to many of the citizens and gathered an...oppositional force and pointed them toward the Knights. They'd have done much better had the Knights been less skilled. I've got to give them credit, they are good.
Also, as it turns out, riling up folk to rebellion is a crime as well...Sedition...And, wouldn't you know it, despite my best efforts, they caught me and sentenced me with just that. They tried to tack on a charge of murder, but it isn't my fault one knight ran another through. I mean, I asked him to but that weren't by my hand.
Anywho, that is why I am comfortably shacked here in Branscar. What's your story? Maybe we can be friends? Quality friends are so hard to come by."

Name: Sarela Falrin
Crime: Murder
Alignment: NE
Race: Aasimar
Template: Psychic Lich
Class 1: Mesmerist (Vexing Daredevil)
Class 2: Vigilante (Cabalist)
There are many paths to evil, but perhaps the most tragic is the fall from grace. Sarela's birth was easy, and her golden hair and radiant appearance clearly showed her blessed by Mitra's angels. Born into a wealthy merchant family in Matharyn, Sarela was fawned over as she grew up, and everyone expected her to become a great priest of Mitra, as befit her heritage. Sarela, however, wasn't interested in the priesthood or service. She just wanted to dance.
Her father, unable to refuse his daughter anything, paid for the finest dance instructors to come and teach her. Naturally graceful and possessed of great beauty, she learned quickly, and was enrolled in the most prestigious dance academy in Talingarde at the young age of 15. There, she continued to excel, drawing high praise from her teachers and envy from her other classmates - save one. Aldina Farr was at least as beautiful and, perhaps, more talented. Sarela and Aldina often competed for the same roles, and neither liked the other. Aldina would accuse Sarela of attempting to sabotage her often, although she could never say how. Their rivalry began to divide the students, as the others felt the need to pick sides, until one day Aldina disappeared.
Such a commotion was caused, and the school was investigated. Sarela was questioned, and she denied knowledge of Aldina's fate. Aldina was never found, and no one knew what had become of her. Sarela became the undisputed star pupil of the school, and laughed off any rumors that she was behind Aldina's death. After all, how could she have spirited Aldina away from the school, murdered her, disposed of the body, and gotten away with it? Sarela was not gifted with great strength, and carrying Aldina would have been difficult for her. Surely someone would have noticed.
The answer, of course, lay in the same reason her father could never refuse her. Sarela had manifested mental gifts that allowed her to bend the minds of others - to convince them to see things in a light favorable to her. The powers were magic, but not of the kind used by Wizards or priests. It was something different - something of the mind. She had used her gifts to charm Aldina into accompanying her to a secluded spot where she ritually sacrificed her rival, as she had been instructed to in the Book. She'd dumped the body in a nearby sewer, and returned to the school, content in the knowledge her rival was no more, and she'd gain power as the Book had instructed.
The Book was a text she had found in a storeroom in the school, entitled The Dance of Kilesa. Kilesa, it appeared, had lived 200 years ago. In the book, she spoke of her life and legacy, as well as detailing specific blood rituals she had used to gain power and remove rivals, ensuring her dominance as the pre-eminent dancer in all of Talingarde. She said the rituals brought her power, ways to inflict harm on those who stood between her and glory, and that eventually they could even bring eternal life. The Book ended with several pages left unfinished - whether Kilesa had discovered the secret to eternal life or died shy of doing so was unclear. Still, Sarela, looking to gain an advantage over her rival, had used the first of these rituals, and the next day, she woke with knowledge of how to impose fear in others, as well as spells for how to manipulate someone's life force. Realizing the knowledge might fade, she wrote the spells down in her journal to preserve them for later.
Sarela was cautious - these rituals were forbidden on many levels, especially since each required the sacrifice of a living humanoid. Unfortunately, she was not cautious enough. After graduating, she was to be chosen for the lead part in a performance to be performed for the King and Princess. At least, she was until she was replaced by another, more experienced dancer, Tatiana Varilova, at the Princess's request. Sarela, furious at being removed from her leading role, reasoned that if Tatiana were to disappear, she would again be the lead. Sarela made her plan, and struck. She charmed Tatiana and led her to the place where she'd prepared the ritual, and began.
Tatiana was far more high profile than Aldina had been, and her disappearance noticed quickly. A servant had noticed her walking off with Sarela, and the Knights of the Alerion went looking. They came upon a grisly scene - Tatiana, bound to a stone, her throat sliced open, and Sarela calling out for the skill of this sacrifice to become hers, holding a bloody scimitar in her hand.
The girl was quickly subdued - no match for the Knights, was she. The scandal was immense - her parents were disgraced, Tatiana's fate was linked to Aldina's disappearance, and Sarela's dreams of eternal glory in dance stripped away. With the Princess having requested Tatiana, Sarela's conviction came quickly, and she was sent to Branderscar for her crimes, there to await beheading by the axe.

Race: Oread (mostly human alternate)

Class 1: Goliath Druid
Class 2: Titan Fighter/Armored Hulk Barbarian
All his life, Grengar was big for his age. The son of an aristocratic, but impoverished family, Grengar worked the mines and liked to drink hard whenever he had coin. But there was something savage lurking inside him, and as he began to grow even larger, the full rage of his patron the Giant god Urazra let loose. There were no survivors of the bar after Grengar was finished, butchering them man, woman, and child with his butchering axe in a fury one night. When the authorities arrived the next day and arrested him with overwhelming force, Grengar vowed that he would one day kill them all. Since then, he has done his best to get into a prison brawl as often as possible, trying to prove his own strength and brutality in battle, and earning himself progressively more punishment, which will surely end with him on the gallows before long.

Here's my offering.
Name: Barnabas Wright
Crime: Attempted Murder
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Race: Human
Template: Vampire
Class #1: Unchained Monk (Black Asp)
Class #2: Alchemist (Toxicant/Vivisectionist)
Debuffer, secondary DPS and utility. Planning on going all in on the poison aspect of the toxicant. Monk provides mobility and flurry for applying poison. Thinking of going DEX based, focus INT foible STR or CON (depending if he starts as a vamp already).
The House of Smoke and Shadow has fallen on hard times. Once spoken of only in the barest of whispers, the venerable assassins’ guild’s name no longer strikes fear into the hearts of men. For centuries, the guild helped to keep the fickle nobles of Talingarde in check. The ever-present threat of having a contract put on their heads was often enough to force cooperation and maintain stability. The greedy and ambitious would inevitably succumb to illness or fall victim to some unfortunate accident. There were always those that thought they were clever enough or careful enough their fate, and the Guild grew fat off of their hubris.
But that was before the Victor. Before the rise of the Mitrans. For the last several decades, the Guild has been on a slow decline. The final nail in the coffin came with the purge of the Asmodean church. The Asmodean hierarchical maneuvering was always good for a few contracts a year and kept the Guild afloat during the lean years. Bereft of its last reliable customer, The House of Smoke and Shadow effectively ceased to be. It still exists though and still takes contracts. A few moldering adepts still adhering to the old ways, haunt the old guild hall beneath the streets Ghastenhall and the Guildmistress, a venerable vampire known only as Longclaw, still oversees the operations, such that they are. These dedicated few keep the teachings alive and every once and a while a promising street urchin disappears from the lighted world to be indoctrinated in the depths below.
Barnabas was one such child. Raised in the dark and trained to be a killer, he became proficient in the ways of poisons and passing unseen. He passed every test and survived his initiation to become one to the House’s few active agents.
The most recent contract was for a minor government official. The request came through official, if outdated, channels, and used archaic terminology. It was as if the old days had come again and it raised red flags throughout the Guild. Still, the old rituals must be followed and when Barnabas drew the black coin, he made his preparations and set out.
The target was easy to find. Barnabas watched and waited for his opportunity. The official was both obviously nervous and at times extremely careless. He would get drunk and stumble through alleyways, but triple-bolt his door and constantly peer furtively out his windows. It was odd. It felt like a trap. But the contract had been accepted.
In the end, Barnabas chose poison, as was his want. On one of the officials jaunts to the tavern, Barnabas stole into his house through an upper window and secreted himself to away his target’s return. In the depths of night, while his prey slept, Barnabas crept from his hiding spot. He approached his target, vial in hand. A touch of the lips, a short illness and a relatively painless death awaited. As he loomed over the bed, a voice behind him said, ”So it seams the House of Smoke and Shadow is more than just a rumor.”
A light flared to life and several Mitrans, armed to the teeth shimmered into view. Barnabas dove for his target. It had been a trap, but the contract still held. Another half-step and he would have been successful, but the Mitrans were too quick. As the pulled him down, he let out a howl of rage. Not for his capture, but for his failure, and the dishonor it brought.
A contract of blood had been bought, and it must be paid in full.
Please let me know if you have any questions

I've got a guy I want to throw in here.
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
And this would be him: Morthos
I love me some WotW and he's been in about 3(maybe 4) but none of them have panned out unfortunately.
Obviously I've got to redo his mechanics but this is the gist of him. Will get to work on that.
| Javell DeLeon |
Per the templates: Do we get stated abilities listed under these templates?
Take the Giant for instance(Not interested in Giant but it's an easy example). Would the following actually apply to our character?
Rebuild Rules: Size increase by one category; AC increase natural armor by +3; Attacks increase dice rolled by 1 step; Ability Scores +4 size bonus to Str and Con, –2 Dex.
And if this has already been addressed then please forgive me.

Maybe touch on him being bigger and taller than others in his backstory. As for giant template: large size(10ft. reach and can wield large weapons), +1 natural armour, +1str/con,-2dex. The full bonuses will be achieved as you level.

Well shoot. My cat was so considerate as to click my mouse button to submit this before I was done. I'll see about getting this edited and finishing up.
Dealan - Choarku - arson - NE - goblin - alchemist (fire bomber) - slayer - mummy lord - backstory
Why hadn't he run with the others? They had found what they were sent for. In the hidden second basement of that dusty old church, Choarku had pried open crates until he found them: a cracked rune-covered stone jar and a stack of papyrus. The other raiders from his tribe had packed them while he started what he loved best: the fire. Something to occupy the longshanks and distract them while they escaped. With that well under way, why hadn't he run?
He shook his head and sighed. He knew well enough. He had stayed to see his love, his fire. From near the edge of the forest, he had watched her dance and rise to the roof of the church. Gazing into the light, hearing the roar and a crash... and another sound, a rhythmic pounding... from behind? His gut clenched in terror as his head snapped around in time to see a rider closing on him, swinging a mace... darkness. And then he was here.

:O That is an outrageous........ly accurate representation.
Why are you sickly looking?
"Oh yeah...that. So, when I was laying low after my friends failed at their uprising some creepy dude just kind of appeared behind me in my secret humble abode. I mean...mostly humble..Anyway, he appears and offers me the chance to overcome my current situation. He says that he knew my father and offered my father the same deal. We immediately bonded over thinking my father was a fool. His terms were that I'd have to turn over my first spawn, weird right? I was about to be caught and I knew it so I agreed. Worst case I get beheaded right? Then, and you probably won't believe me, then he grabbed my arm and bit it! I mean, I'm pretty sure he did because I awoke to the knights arresting me. Likely that jerk just got rich selling me out. Bad luck, right?"

Hi GM! It's Archlich here with my character. Please don't pay much attention to crunch details at this point. The background and a "tentative sheet" can be found in this profile. To summarize:
Name Seltyel Renn
Crime Heresy
Alignment NE
Race Tiefling
Template Trompe L'Oeil
Class 1 Cleric (Fiendish Vessel)
Class 2 Shifter (Elementalist)
In terms of roles, I'm hoping that Seltyel can provide some help to the party in terms of healing, though not really too focused in it, and still be able to work with melee damage dealing and hopefully some buffing spells in the future.

Cardinal A. Thorn - Yeah, I didn't manage to get the whole story out the first time. Here's the rest including partial mummification (and I edited the post above slightly so that he only found one cracked rune-covered jar in the church basement rather than four intact ones.)
Several months ago, in the hold of a strange looking ship, they found four canopic jars and some damaged scrolls. Choarku's master Jevnu translated what he could and had determined that the scrolls described the process for creating a sah, a creature of eternal life and immense power. This interested Jevnu greatly, but being unwilling to have the untested and incompletely described procedure attempted on himself, he instead performed it on his apprentice.
Choarku survived. The results were not at first impressive... but there was a new toughness to him, and his strength grew somewhat with time. (Insert here whatever initial mechanical advantages are granted by the mummy lord template.)
Satisfied with the state of his apprentice and the potential for the improvement of the process, Jevnu persuaded the tribe's chief to support him in following up on a lead obtained from the same shipment: a letter which had been packed with the jars, addressed to someone in one of the human towns.
That's what lead to a band of goblins raiding a town in the borderlands and burning a church of Mitra. The goblins had first subdued and tied up the sole member of the clergy in his adjoining living quarters. Perhaps this clergyman was the nephew of someone important? Perhaps he lived, perhaps he died? Choarku does not know such things, although they have probably played an important role in his fate.
In addition to being an aspiring alchemist, Choarku is a hunter. Sometimes the ships don't come, or else the longshanks send out a party to try to put an end to the wrecking. During those times, the tribe heads inland and lives as best they can in the forest.
Choarku is both cowardly and unwise. His reckless experiments with alchemical fire have scarred him. He's bold enough when his allies have the numbers, but otherwise he would rather keep his distance and hide from a fight.
He strongly dislikes the people from the cities of Talingarde. In the past, their soldiers have killed his friends and chased his tribe from their home. If he could, Choarku would slay the soldiers and burn their barracks and castles... but preferably from the back ranks of a mighty horde of goblins.
Choarku's tribe of goblins worship Asmodeus as a fire god. Choarku is not especially religious, but he respects the Prince of Darkness.
Choarku would be a ranged striker, a party buffer and (if he's threatened or adequately bribed) a scout.

Okay, cool. That's what I was wondering. And yeah I just don't see him with the Giant template. Haven't gone through all of the templates thoroughly but I'm kind of leaning toward the Devilbound one. That seems pretty interesting. Will continue to go through them but that one does strike me as a pretty good fit.
And as far as my second class... probably going to go with Fighter. I'm having a hard time finding another class that "fits" him properly. It's got to make sense and that one is really the only one that does.

Thanks Dealna and Archlich, that makes 8 complete submissions. 27 total have posted, yikes. Luckily, I have decided and am able to run several separate parties.
Having said that, I should close recruitment. All those who have posted and are still working on characters still have till the end of the year but no more new interest posts. If everyone completes their characters, 30 submission is already so many to choose from.

From psychic lich, you will get: not undead until the first time you die(use con until then), darkvision 60ft., +1 natural armour, DR 1/bludgeoning and magic, resist cold/electricity 5, Rejuvenation, touch attack, psychic lich class skills. Your book would be confiscated somewhere.
She is not a psychic lich yet. The Dance of Kilesa was someone else's memoir to anchor their astral legend, along with the rituals used to do so. However, the person was never able to complete the transformation, likely because they died before they could (the manner of death is, of course, unknown to Sarela).
The idea boiled out because I liked the flavor of the Cabalist Vigilante archetype for this AP, and because Vexing Daredevil seemed to fit with it so well.
