I am working on getting the crunch posted. Khefu Amun is a Human ranger and native Osiriani, who has worked as a desert and ruins guide for foreigners.

Can we take 2 campaign traits? I have Devotee of the Old Gods, and Trap Finder in mind. If not, I am happy to work around that.

I had this character to play Mummy's Mask, but we played onky one session and my group turned to something else. I was hoping to dust her off to join this PbP campaign. I have played a couple of PFS scenarios (including a Special) in PbP, and have just finished GMing a campaign for the last 1½ year. So not super experienced, bur not a newbie.
I'm able to post at least once a day pretty much everyday, and there are a few days a week that I will be able to post more than once a day.

My background
I have decided to follow my family tradition of being a cleric of Pharasma, but being fifth in line, I don't expect to rise really high in the priesthood, so I turned to accompanying the patrols in the darker tunnels of the necropolis to help them if they come foul of those detestable undead. Once we were attacked by powerful ghouls and all my group fell to them. I died last and my last thoughts were terror, knowing that I would rise as ghoul myself, a danger to my family and my people. But when I woke, I was still alive, and even though my parents think that maybe I didn't really died and was hallucinating, a herald of Pharasma told me that the Lady of the Grave thought that I was meant for greater things than becoming undead so she ordered him to bring me back. Since then I have gained the power to prevent dying creature from expiring with a touch and I'm more resistant to the evil powers of undead. Pharasma has also turned my family's curse around in me, and I'm able to summon some of Pharasma's creatures to help me in case of danger.
Recently, news has come to the necropolis of the opening for exploration of the necropolis of Wakti. My family is concerned of the possible desecration of the dead by all those explorers, and of undead rising because of their meddling. But I'm also have a feeling that that is were I will be able to fulfill the greater destiny that Pharasma has predicted for me, so I've decided, with the blessing of my family, to joined one group in the exploration, to help with the undead and make sure they treat the actual dead with respect.
I, Dhakira menedres V of Erekrus, descendent of one of the great Pharaoh, cannot fail...
I really hope I can join this campaign!

Alright I have returned with my character essentially completed. I humbly present Atash Rahine, half-elf Eldritch Scoundrel Unchained Rogue for your consideration.
I found a great deal of inspiration when writing Atash, both for his background as well as his personality. I do have a couple of questions and/or important things I want to point out.
1) Would I be able to scribe some scrolls for character generation? It wouldn't be much, I'm already down to 27 gold.
2) I have not yet decided between the Foreign Opportunist or Inquisitive Archaeologist campaign traits. Both will work for his background, and I am fine with going either one to fit into the party.
3) If I am chosen for the party, I plan to detail out (and potentially update) the interaction with the priests of Sarenrae in his background. I want the priests that saved him to worship the same god as somebody in the party, preferably a divine caster, which will help him to be a little more talkative.
4) I know a common issue with the "silent types" is that they are often hard to engage with and can end up being pretty boring when it comes to roleplaying. I assure you that I have no intent of my character being a boring and silent type, and you can see from my character Marcus the Dog that I know how to play the quiet low charisma types in an interesting way (I must also give credit to my GM who is doing a very good job in that campaign).

Scroll creation - that's okay as long as you stick to the scroll creation rules here.
Not a problem if you cant decide on a trait, just please note it on the alias so I remember.

Thanks for the quick response!
Gotcha. I'll wait to see if I get selected before making some scrolls so that I can review the other chosen party members.
Already noted on the traits line, right next to feats!
Best of luck all!
FYI I will be traveling this weekend and likely will be completely unavailable until Monday, although I may be able to check the boards very briefly late at night.

I am currently at GMT-3.
I am running 2 games of Rise of the Runelords and check/post multiple times per day during the week. I am not so stable on weekends, varying a lot.
Note also, that I will probably be moving to Europe in the next 2~3 months, so I will have some trouble posting during this time and my timezone will change.
Canetor is a very focused and capable man. He relies on his skill and knowledge to get by. He wants to do good by his parents and his little sister, but he also means to find his own path. He is a guide to the tombs and through the desert. However, that's not to say he is always serious, as he very much enjoys the occasional bad joke to lighten the mood.
Mechanically, he can dash out damage and will focus on the trip combat maneuver. He can get trapfinding if the party needs a trap disarmer, but also focus more on combat. He has some highly valued skills.
Canetor's parents are a woman from Wati and a kelish half-orc. His mother, Kara, is part of a cult to the old god Osiris in the city, while his father Kyron ran away from his family in search for a purpose in life. He found purpose with Kara and her cult.
Their son was born and had a happy childhood learning about the cult. The harsh life of the desert proved to be good for him growing up, and he learned the facts of life very quickly, especially by being an uncommon race in the city. He frequently ventured the desert and learned some survival skills, but he always managed to be home for history and religion lessons.
When he found out that he was to have a little sister, he was not very happy at first, but immediately changed his mind when he saw her being born. She was fully human and was name Neko. In few days, she received the holy mark of Pharasma and their parents were mortified. But this only served to make Canetor feel more protective of her.
By hiding her mark, the family of four lived by their ways as best as they could. After talking to their spiritual leader, the family learned that they would need to participate more actively in their faith, namely give bigger donations. That is when Canetor started serving as a guide for tomb raiders. The new money was helpful to them, but they also had hopes of finding relics of Osiris that they could use to appease their leader and gain the forgiveness for Neko's accidental sin.
Then came Pharaoh Khemet III's offer and work started to seem more and more promising...

Been looking for this one for quite a while.
As far as races go, are you ok with the Duskwalker?
I'd be going with the Resurrected trait for it, though the resurrection took place a little longer ago as befits the race, though it's more like a rebirth anyway.
The idea here is that in it's previous life the character was a robber and desecrator of tombs and it also died because of that behaviour(death by mummy as opposed to a curse). The psychopomps of the boneyard have given it a second chance though, seeing great potential for good(from their perspective) in the former criminal.
The character though knows only it's been given a second chance to do something with it's life and there will be no third chances.

Khefu Amun Al'Qwadi |

@Say'ri Al Bashere I was looking at a divine influenced ranger: a human (garundi) native of Wati who is a follower of Horus. After reading your character profile, this seems like it might go either of two ways...
It could be that we would have a great connection, and opportunity to roleplay i.e. the local guy with whom you could explore more about your shared ancestral faith etc. (perhaps even distantly related?)
Or, it could just be that these two characters might have too much overlap in both story and mechanics. (I was leaning an Archery centric, but melee capable build, some knowledges and the trap trait).
I wanted to get your feedback, because I am extreeeeemely interested in this campaign and would like to put my best foot forward for selection.
Would it be prudent to switch to a slightly different concept?
@GM Inara any feedback on your perception of this?

Rastaf's been visiting a small shrine to Sarenrae in Midwife, tidying it up and using it for morning prayers. You might spot him there. He's always happy to talk to fellow worshipers of the Dawn Flower.
He's also got a history with a priestess of Sarenrae who mentored him.

Layla Kheper |

Hi GM Inara, Brainiac and Nikolas!
Here's Archlich with my submission: Layla is a Swarm Shifter, a strong girl which shapeshifts into a swarm of scarabs, with a debt to settle with a undead horde of ancient evil. Thanks for running it! I hope her profile is complete, but if you have questions of need more details, please feel free to let me know.
Cheerio!

Going to go with occultist
Trait- Trap finder
his hair is salt and peppery, however he is not even 30 years of age yet. Which often makes him appear older than he is.
He wears colors of red and white or black and gold most often. His blue eyes seem fierce and piercing in conjunction with his platinum hair color, a trait from his father. His primary weapon is a black steel elven curved blade he found while surveying with his professor. Most of its magic had fading long ago, however he Alaros caught glimpses of the warrior that wielded it from ages past and so took a liking to it. He is normally attired in long, loose fitting clothing that is easy to put over leather or metal armor. However, in a professional environment he wears a professors academy attire (as seen in the image linked) He prioritizes comfort and utility over style, but will try to get both when possible. Some say he is wise beyond his years, others, rash for one his age.
working on the full background now, but I think this is enough to get a good grasp for the character. Crunch is coming as well, Likely will be a two-handed fighter gish type with a variety of utility thrown in.

Ratel Dier |

This is Robert Henry's Ranger; Ratel Dier, a melee frontliner who uses a little help from Anubis.
"He's a local boy who's not satisfied with just serving as a guard. He believes Anubis has more in store for him. When he heard that the Pharaoh had opened the necropolis to explorers he realized it was his opportunity to serve Anubis in a more tangible manner; slaying the undead that must reside there."
Obed Dier is an average sized man of mixed Garundi and Keleshite descent. With a strong intellect and a talent for magic, as a follower of Anubis, he became an acolyte of Anubis and trained in the rituals of mummification. Obed was originally from Sothis, but moved to Wati as a young acolyte to assist with the rituals there at the temple. It was at the temple of Anubis he met his future wife Sari, the tall beautiful daughter of Ehud Bey, the Garundi captain of the guard at the temple. Though several years younger than her husband, they were a happy couple having seven children; Ratel being the next to the youngest.
Ratel was born in the couple's fifteenth year of marriage. By that time his father was the priest of the temple of Anubis and his mother was a successful ceramicist, specializing in canopic jars. His oldest brother Malteir, fourteen was already serving as an acolyte in the temple and Emon, eleven, was deep in religious studies. Manut at seven could speak five languages including Ancient Osirion and had his own spell book while Nalta at four was learning to write and do mathematical equations. His only sister Mariam was three and already singing entire songs she had memorized. Ratel did not prove to be the mental prodigy that his siblings were.
Big for his age physically Ratel, no matter how he tried, learned things slower than children his age. Because of which, he was often teased or bullied by his brothers and other older children around the temple. Maltier's snide comments were hurtful but not as bad as Emon's outright physical abuse. Manut simply seemed to ignore his existence and Nalta, depending on his mood, flipped from mentor to tormentor from day to day. Mariam, however, was always kind and patiently helped him with his studies and his younger sister by two years, Dori, thought the world of him. Fortunately, though Ratel was slow to learn facts and figures, he was quick to keep an eye out for his brother's moods and temperaments learning to avoid them when needed.
It was his mother Sari, when she noticed the quality of his muscle memory, who convinced her husband to relax the push for mental acumen and let him spend some time with her father learning more physical skills. So he began spending more time everyday learning from Ehud and the other guards who served at the temple.
It was the summer Ratel turned thirteen that the torturing, teasing and name calling stopped. Emon had returned from the university in Sothis and was in his usual foul mood. Dori had gone out to the garden to pick flowers to take to their mothers studio and had been stung by a bee. When she came into the house crying she went directly to Mariam to pull out the stinger, unintentionally interrupting one of Emon's tirades. Ratel, hearing his sister crying entered the room behind Emon just as his older brother said something along the lines of "I'll give you something to cry about." and slapped Dori's face. Ratel, who had grown considerably that year, let out a snarl and punched the university student in his right kidney, just above the hip. Emon's dropped like a sack of potatoes. After he recovered from the ruptured kidney, Emons returned to Sothis and never came back to Wati.
After that event Ratel's training continued to be more and more physically oriented. Because he still wanted to serve Anubis He did convince his father to let him continue to learn the process of mummification, but Obed did not teach him any of the spells. the temple guards not only provided security for the temple, they were also sent to deal with undead; so Ehud began to teach him how to hunt the undead. Both father and grandfather patiently helped him learn to hear Anubis’ voice more clearly.
As they got older each of the children settled into their own lives. Malteir had moved to Ipeq to serve in Anubis’ temple there. Emon never returned from Sothis; it was rumored that he had become a servant of Set. Manut had gone to Absalom to learn more about magic and possibly join the Pathfinder Society. Natla was still in Wati but he had become a cleric of Pharasma and moved closer to her temple to serve her better. Mariam had moved to Sothis to perform in the larger venues. Dori was the only one still living at home when Ratel moved in with his grandfather after becoming a full fledged member of the temple guards, so he could continue his training as a Corpse Hunter.
Ratel is not satisfied with just serving as a guard. He believes Anubis has more in store for him. When he heard that the Pharaoh had opened the necropolis to explorers Ratel realized it was his opportunity to serve Anubis in a more tangible manner; slaying the undead that must reside there.
Ratel, like most Garundi warriors, is tall, broad shouldered and dark skinned. He wears the black lamellar leather armor of the Anubis temple guards, with its distinctive black jackal mask, double lined to provide some protection for his head. The black cotton kilt, black leather gauntlets and greaves with iron shod sandals. He carries similar weapons to most guards: shield and spear with a shortsword on his belt. He also carries a flail to honor his god Anubis.
His face, though not handsome, is well formed; sharp cheekbones, an aquiline nose, a strong chin and thin lips. His eyes are so dark they almost look black. He keeps his head and face meticulously shaved and his body clean; wanting his features to be immaculate, so when he dies he meets his god looking presentable.
Ratel is consciences, kind and humble, desiring close friends who are honest with him. He places a high value on education and intelligent choices, often listening to several ideas before making a decision. His personal habits are orderly, bordering on being anal retentive, but it helps him stay focused on helping and caring for others.
On the Myers Briggs scale Ratel has an Advocate Personality (INFJ, -A/-T)
As I put in my original dot, I'm in GMT -4 (EST) I'm able to post multiple times a day and I'm comfortable playing at a very brisk pace. If I can answer any questions about the character or my playing style please ask.
Again thank you running the game GM Inara, you've got a tough decision ahead of you. Good luck and good gaming all.

Sahba al-Xemestra |

Character construction still underway, but this will be my Half Elven Bladebound Spire Defender Magus who weilds a black bladed khopesh which has been drawing her towards the necropolis, and awakens once it is "home".
It's likely that she would have signed on as a bodyguard/muscle for one of the more studious, librarian types (though she's no slouch in the academic world herself)

I'm submitting Teseh Mebret a Metamagic Urban Bloodrager with Destined Bloodline and the Wati native trait.

Been looking for this one for quite a while.
As far as races go, are you ok with the Duskwalker?
...
Its core Paizo and not listed under types of race but it is very fitting for the adventure so please do feel free to go for it. I will consider it as a "featured" race in terms of player character slots though.

GM Inara |

@GM Inara any feedback on your perception of this?
I'll let Nik elaborate on the direction of Say'ri so you can make your mind up if they cross over too much. In terms of crossover, I will look at mechanics. I don't see a problem with backgrounds crossing over as its just more roleplay opportunities and ways to make connections either way.

With Nikolaus haven taken the Blood of the Pharaos, should we avoid this trait?
There were a lot of Pharaohs and presumably a lot of descendents! Say'ri is descended from the Falcon Pharaoh, but he is one of many! And as Inara said I am willing to change my trait, most likely to Trap Finder if we don't end up with a full scale rogue in the party (or someone else who already has the trait).
@Say'ri Al Bashere I was looking at a divine influenced ranger: a human (garundi) native of Wati who is a follower of Horus. After reading your character profile, this seems like it might go either of two ways...

Take a look at most of my games and you will see that I always come down on the side of more roleplaying, rather than less! So I would say Khefu would be an excellent person for Say'ri to get to know. As to overlap... Say'ri isn't going to be doing much at range for the first couple of levels because its too damn expensive! So having an archer will likely be really rather useful.
In short, always play what you want to play, I'm adaptable. :)

Sahba al-Xemestra |

Heh. I was pointing out on a PF Facebook forum that if you look at the spell Coinshot, it's literally cheaper to shoot gold pieces at people than it is to be a low-level gunslinger.

That definitely works. She's been feeling a pull towards Osirion anyway and been taking gigs that lead in that direction (it's really her black blade khopesh beginning to awaken, and prodding at her sub-conscious).

Hi everyone!
I've been looking through the current submissions this morning and there are some really fun ideas so far, I look forward to seeing more over the coming days.
Post rate clarification:
I just wanted to reiterate that both myself and the two other confirmed players want this game to be a fast paced game compared to many on these forums. We all post multiple times a day and don't tend to skip days that often. If you want an idea of what this looks like, please look at the game I recently started GM-ing. We started on Sep 29th and it now has over 400 posts between 6 people. Link here.
I understand this is not to everyone's taste or fits in with everyone's normal day, however it is the sort of game that I enjoy and want to run so I am clarifying this so everyone understands these expectations.
That definitely works. She's been feeling a pull towards Osirion anyway and been taking gigs that lead in that direction (it's really her black blade khopesh beginning to awaken, and prodding at her sub-conscious).
Sahba - Desert Born isn't for this particular campaign, most likely from another Campaign. Please have a look at the players guide linked in my first post, I'm sure you can find a great alternative there. Sphinx Riddler looks like it might suit your character well.

Jazadi Kimendyne |

Dragoncat here with a finished application. Here is Jazadi Kimendyne--an Inquisitive Archaeologist hailing from the Clockwork City of Alkenstar.
Timezone-wise, I'm in Atlantic Standard Time. Posting rate-wise, I'm no stranger to faster-moving games. If anything, they give me the push I need to pick up my own pace in the games I run.

As a response to posting rate:
Although most of my games tend to run on the 1/day basis, I am more than happy and capable to do a faster pace. I've done entire mini campaigns on the boards in one sitting, and I will set up RSS feeds if needed to get instant notifications for new posts.
And it would be very nice to have such a fast paced game right now because so many of my other games have either slowed down considerably or gone on indefinite hiatus due to Covid.

Khefu Amun Al'Qwadi |

I see that i neglected to ever post my timezone information.
I am in CST or GMT -6.
I have some evening commitments that wil take me away for a couple hoirs at a time, but i love a higher volume PbP. Ive been in a few before, but its been some time. I am also able to post while at work which should be a benefit for posting rate.
I will be submitting Khefu as a divine tracker ranger. Crunch is in his profile, backstory is mostly written and should be uploafed later today.

Lots of interest in this ap! Always good to see.
I seem to be missing from the dotted section. I've worked out the character concept a bit further: It will probably be a Life oracle with the spirit guide archetype.
For his goal, he is essentially someone out to find and reclaim the lost spirit animals of the old Osirion gods, and will use them in battle when he eventually finds them. Role will be main healer/caster though I'm looking into giving him a bit of melee ability such as by having a decent strength and a longspear.
I'll go through the player's guide tonight and try to flesh it all out more and pick a campaign trait.
