It's basically superstition at this point. In the past, I've submitted both male and female characters, but only females were accepted, and of the one male that made it into a game...well, he died a spectacularly quick and grisly death. Generally, the characters I think up are gender-neutral anyways, so given the odds, I prefer to tick the F box.
