There are 2 items in two different bags by the foot of the bunk beds. Then the logbook that Mary Kay was carrying also detected as magic.

Mary Kay nods at the presence of magic. Turning on her own Third Eye, she gathers the items on one of the bunks to examine.

Mary Kay will look through the book and on the inside of the back cover you see two words that were not there before and they are "plum tree."

Rhysfar finds the two items that Eustice was pointing out. One is a wand that has an inscription of "U. H." on it and the other is some kind of talisman. Mary Kay focuses on the items but just can't pinpoint exactly what they are. Rhysfar is also able to find 421sp and 127gp among the contents of the bags.

You also find a small tunnel in the floor in the corner of the room.

"And some tasty plums."


In the Center of the town is a public well for all to use. Just southwest of the well is a wooden scaffold with a set of steps. It looks suitable for use as a platform to address a large crowd. North of the scaffold is the remnant of a well-used community fire pit surrounded by stones, large enough for a reasonably sized bonfire. Most of the ashes in the central fire pit have been rained on repeatedly and are now mixed in with the soil. It is clear that no fire has been lit here for weeks.

This rectangular building is constructed of mud brick walls. The building has a simple door facing east, but unlike all other buildings in the colony, it lacks any windows. A heady smell of dried plants, herbs, and dried meat lingers in the air.

You approach the door and don't hear anything so Fang opens the door. Inside, the building lacks interior walls except for a few short partitions, and four stout posts support the roof. The temperature is cool and the smell of rotted vegetables and meat is strong. Strings of garlic hang suspended from ceiling crossbeams alongside chunks of salted meat and bone. Debris and refuse is strewn across the floor between stacks of crates, boxes, and barrels against the walls.

Eustice gets a ping of magic from a shelf on the other side of the room, be it before you can start to head that way. Maslow, Fang and Eustice see bugs that start to come together to form a large group of bugs that seem agitated.

The cockroaches scurry towards Rhysfar trying to get out of the range of the light from the doorway. Swarming around Rhysfar they start to bite him all over.

Fang unfortunately is unsuccessful with his blast, Rhysfar gets out of the way of the cockroaches but can't seem to connect as well as he wanted to.

Mary tries to look through her bag for anything of use and Maslow pulls a torch. The cockroaches start to scurry towards Eustice but he swiftly gets out of the way so then they scurry towards Maslow.

Eustice fumbles around in his pack, drawing forth a torch. He moves adjacent to Rhys and holds his torch out to get a light from the hunter.


Rhysfar pulls out tindertwig and torch while Eustice walks up holding out an unlit torch looking for a light. Maslow gets out of range of the bugs and Fang continues to struggle with getting a direct hit on the bugs.
