I would say if you are adjacent to the person with the torch you can just light it, I think it's dumb to have you spend an action to do that unless you are using a tindertwig to initially light it.
The bugs move away in the other corner of the room trying to get away from the torches.

Fang takes a deep breath and then last a big hit on the cockroaches and kill them all. With that hit the scurrying sounds of the cockroaches stop and the building falls silent.
With the cockroaches dead you are able to locate the source of magic in the building and find a teakwood box that could be sold for 30gp. When you open the box you find a wand sitting nicely inside.

You guys take a few to catch your breaths after the annoyance of the cockroaches. After you find yourselves approaching the last building in the middle of this settlement.
This mud wall building has a door facing east and one shuttered window. Above the door is a plain wooden sign that reads, “Tool House.”

Rhys nods and pockets the wand.
"Agreed. Depending on how quick the new run of settlers can get the farming up and running, it may be lean winter."
Rhys pulls out a potion of cure light wounds and downs it, replacing it with one of the ones still in party treasure.

When you open the door you see an assortment of tools all over the walls, hammers, handsaws, hatchets, machetes, trowels, and similar tools. Various other implements, such as makeshift ladders, barrels of tar, and shovels are stacked or otherwise arrayed about the room.
Rhysfar realizes that there is no way the original colonists could relocate successfully without taking these tools. These tools are also going to be pivotal to the group of colonists you came with to survive.
You also find a wooden box with the words "Emergency Only" carved on the lid. There is a lock on the box and you are unable to find a key.

After you guys are done healing up
You pass by neglected garden patches and walk towards a tree you saw in the distance.
Standing near an evergreen tree is a fruit-bearing tree with spiny branches and reddish-purple, apple-shaped plums. A few plums have fallen to the ground to spoil in the heat and birds have pecked at others. Nevertheless, there are still many fruits still fit to pick and eat.
