You found the purple worm on The Day Of Fire, then emerges from the tunnels early on the Day of Stones and Marella, Terex and Minna initiated into the Tribe that same day. You fought Quizzel and the other Gnomes on the Day Of The Wind. Then rest and prepared on the Day Of Rain, Day of The Father, Day of The Father and Day of the Child. So You are starting on The Day Of Fire. It will take 2-3 days to reach the forge. And if you wish, you could have waited day further day or longer.

You had the whole party go with the Decoy Group, then we split Arlo and co setting up an ambush while myself, Terex seeking to capture on of the things following us then heading to join the others setting up the ambush.

The whole dragon thing is before this,

So you said I had a shot at one of the things that were following us 200' away well within the range of her pistols, she took the shot.

But now you have her shooting at an undead thing with the troops with it, not the flying thing and we lost the ambush!

can we do this one thing at a time.

Yeah, jumping around so much in time is getting a bit difficult to follow.

I know I'd said Terex was with the 'bait' group, so he'd be at the ambush.

I think what I am saying is Lyra would not blow the Ambush like that,

Arlo and others I think would like to have a chance of a surprise attack as well. Well before the troops hit dirt and start shooting back.

Also, Liya would have used her grenades on the group over just shooting pistols

So, hopefully my latest post places everyone in groups (Arlo & Rollo with "Hunting", Lyra and Marella with the decoy group, Terex with the decoy group or up in the sky). It's Late afternoon, soldiers can lead forward or avoided as you will and the process of finding the underground entrance in the forest, as well as preparing a plan for thousands of people to reach and enter the underground entrance.

Assuming Marella shares her good Perception results, I'd vote we wait and try to ambush these soldiers, trying to take out the undead one and then seeing if we can get the rest to surrender/turn back.

I'm going to be having a bit of a real-life adventure this month, so my posting may be more spotty than usual. I should still be able to get online most days, but it may be less often or at strange times.

Just note, it has been established (by Lyra and my narratives') that the group fell back from original ambush and now it's late afternoon of the first day that the two groups have been out of Oomsatta territory.

So another ambush is fine but we gotta say when you'll ambush them - that afternoon, at night, the next day or etc.

Would a trap-stealer's rod or a rod of flame extinguishing be appropriate? The trap-stealer's rod could be fun, but I feel like the rod of flame extinguishing is probably more thematic for the situation.

I just realized her ring and shield are both Deflection bonuses.
So Dropping the ring of defense +2 for Armor +4 is 4k to 16k so under the 15k limit per object.

Yes, she is not affected by the water or Vacuum when it comes to breathing, but gas attacks still affect her.


So just the clarify the simplified initiative/action (house rule) system I'm using (since someone asked me privately).

The melee round alternates between the players and the monsters acting. The monsters act when I do my main post, usually in the evening (~9-12 pm pacific time). The monsters/NPCs/etc acting should normally be pretty clear - having whatever action they get for a round (if a monster is parallyzed; "stays paralyzed, glares menacingly").

Until then, when we're in combat, any character can do one melee round of action (and you can act in any order but the order you post is generally the order you act in though a bit of retconing is fine). During that time, I might make some clarifying posts but these aren't the monsters actions. (and that means I expect each character to post each day of combat, though we officially more lax on weekends and it depends how crucial you are to the combat).

So basically, the only way initiative matters is during a potential surprise round, otherwise, just alternate. This makes having a high initiative bonus not as useful but it speeds things up and simplifies them a lot. Hopefully it's clear how this works.

The way I did the last week of play accidentally wound-up with a situation where sometimes just one player per day had something to do. I apologize and I want to change this ASAP, 'cause I value all of your input. Which is to say I will try to avoid making this a habit and you will too.

Especially, with the enchantment broken, all you can come out and talk to the two ex-spies.

That *is* tough to avoid sometimes, especiallly with the spread of abilities the party has.

I am willing to say that Terexaltherin will always serve as a 'relay' if people want to communicate silently with anyone within 60' of him.

For clarification, would the main entrance to the Forge be big enough to fit the dragons? We might consider a, ah, less stealthy approach for them after we've dealt with the forces pursuing the Oomsata.

...or we could see how many dragons might be willing to take out some anger on said forces before going to the Forge.

The main entrance would be big enough for the dragons, with a bit of a squeeze.

The dragons would be a fearsome force. The challenge is getting them not to fight each other before they arrived.

Your persuasion is good. This is also going take a bit putting old grudges and anger on hold and motivation for the future.

A further piece of information - there are not that many dragons in total in the mountains and only some further number spread out around the world. Most of the younger dragons don't make to adulthood cause they must compete with already grown dragons. The new, desert world could involve a change to this.

Well the dice don't like this plan. XD


So we don't want to fight two groups at the same time, be flanked and the rest. So its Key Arlo brings the cave down, which slows the Cave group and gives is time to take out the mimicks outside, then we can sort the cave group.
