Really GM, what are we waiting her doing, sorry of I slowed the game
Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |
Humm she does not sleep so I think the dreaming is out, but she still has to rest to get her day abilities. She made a will save, so visions?
But then is it illusions as they still affect her
GM Hansj |
The blue mist is a mind-affecting effect, an enchantment with some illusion aspects.
Those who make their will save get confused visions that they push away. Rollo is getting a clear vision of the "other side" of the spell because he's consciously opening his mind to it (I'm using my ad-hoc magic manipulation house rule, note such manipulations can also be dangerous but he's doing OK so far but he'll likely have to do another spell craft to ultimately close the mental/dispel the magic, so it's not a easy, more effective alternative to dispel).

Cool way to go Rollo
Cool GM, Will roll another will save, If I used the robot template 0CR she would have more weaknesses but also it adds to much, I want her to be affected. But she will 100% push anything illogical away, so she will close her mind to it.

I was torned between: Become a scribe researcher (Any knowledge 14 + diplomacy 14) and Become an upper class dandy ( Diplomacy 14, Bluff 14, 200 currency/week)....although I may invent something using: Linguistics (Int)+18(8 bg), Perform (Cha)+13(8 bg)?

Just to recap,
Current Cover Occupations (as I remember them):
Lady Lyra: Newspaper owner/editor ... (and movie mogul now)
Moira: Aid/salesperson for a trader (but Anzarra's ex-crew want her to run the trading operation the vanished Anzarra previously ran).
Arlo: Club Bouncer
Paritosh: Book seller/Used book store owner
Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |
is this something like?
Lady L, will place one of the films as her own project.
Will PM you GM.

Did we ever fully decide where that loot we got a while back would go?
Slippers of speed and spider climbing(combined effect) - I don't think this went to anyone
Bracers of archery+2/+2 damage - I think this went to Anzarra and would be gone now
A Blue Jewel on a chain that allows the wearer to reduce up to three size categories one time per day for up to 5 minutes (super reduce person, limit to the "fine" category, throat/amulet slot) - I don't think this went to anyone
small, silver flintlock pistol (+2 frost, 3 bullet capacity, can misfire but will not explode). - Lyra
The shield is a +4 light Mithral shield. - Did this go to Arlo?
The amulet could potentially come in handy, but it's pretty situational. I could see the slippers being useful for Arlo. Is there anything worth selling?
Arlo Brighthammer |
Arlo already claimed the shield. The rest was to be divided between the cell members.

There is a lot of information there. There seems to be lots of ifs...lol. I shall do some pondering at work. Post after.
Also, Rollo will happily take those items. They solve some mobility issues!

I'm English so we have a "Lamenting the loss of a rebellious colony" meal.
Otherwise known as fish and chips and paint down the pub, while watching the news about the weather.
GM Hansj |
I'm quarantining as usual with no particular plans tomorrow. Other years, I'd fly to see my family the week before this to save money so I haven't real thanksgiving for a while.
I'll post if we get enough posts on the adventure thread. Otherwise, I can answer questions on the history of Between Earth And Sky document if people are curious.

You should do that in July, not Thanksgiving! We were still reasonably loyal colonists (from a variety of European nations) when the first Thanksgiving(s) happened.
As an aside, one of my favorite scenes rom "The Great Escape" is when the American POWs have cornered the market on potatoes in the Stalag, and have brewed up some hooch/moonshine (low grade but potent alcohol). Three of them (including Garner and McQueen), dress up like the pipe, drummer, and flag bearer usually associated with 4th of July things, and they proceed to lead the American contingent to the British contingent with some occasional cries of "down the British" and some good hearted merriment is had by all. Well, all except their German captors. A fun little event in the movie.
And then, for some reason, people seem to associate the first Thanksgiving as a Massachussetts thing, but I beg to differ.

I am surmising that these relics (Soulwell, Toer of Ergon) are left overs from the Immortals machinery?
Seems quite reckless of them...lol!
Leftover from the First Empire(s). The era of the immortals was careless and free. Ordinary humans and humanoid were more like hunter gathers dependent on the immense power of the immortals. The First Empires were theocracies that appeared once the immortals were bound or exiled.
This machinery allowed the First Empires to guide the spiritual progression of their subjects to a remarkable degree. So their reign was very ... peaceful.
But no empire really plans to fall. The Soul Well was only "provisionally halted" when the priests in the area of Ovium thought they had to temporarily retreat. Few people imagine permanent defeat.

Let me know if you're confused by anything.
Basically, the party can set up a "kill zone" for the thing that will be released by dispelling the magic. Fire could harm it.
Or you can wait on dispelling the magic and go on to the tower. If you need more resources against the creature, it would be possible to return to Ovium to pick scrolls or various things. Several scrolls of magic weapon and ghost touch might well be available.
And other approaches are possible.
Moira Monday |
Magic and "kill zones" aren't Paritosh's area of expertise.
I hear you, Paritosh. What say we head to the Winchester for a pint and wait for this all to blow over?
Sort of kidding. I guess Moira can try to help with crowd control.
Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |
Ok everyone A bit of fun, if we are going to wake this town up from its slumber, we need to banging beats, the game is simple
Everyone gets to pick one steampunk-esk track of music that would wake the dead.
Post link next time you post in-game what the track is.
GM of course gets a pick
:)
Paritosh Jumbal |
I wouldn't begin to know where to start to find "steampunk-ask" music.
Can I run with this one?
Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
That will most def wake up a town, as they scream in the horror of it.
But any track you think would wake a town.
Rollo Qantas |
I shall never get that out of my head now...lol.
Rollo wouldn't mind a Theme Band for this occasion.
