It's just that others have PC with skills she does not, and because I seem to be posting fast her. I don't want my PC hogging the info given out GM.
My PC is tech-based and knows little of magic or mind-controlling others Psionics etc. It would just feel off she she suddenly started acting like she does.
:)

GM Hansj |

OK,
Apologies if I didn't quite understand the way people were processing the situation. I am now guessing that people were hesitating to attack because they couldn't see what was happening with Paritosh.
Here's a solution when attack seems imminent BUT you don't want to make that decision for whatever reason (you're about to get some info that says "do it").
What you say is: "I attack when signal is given, here's my roll - [dice etc]"

Paritosh Jumbal |

No problem, My plan once inside was simply to jabber like a 7 year old, letting you all know everything I was seeing. And without knowing until the GM posted it, that way, if the GM posted, and you knew I was spouting it all, you could make new decisions without waiting for me to come back and throw down some text to redescribed it for you. All in the interest of keeping things moving.

Anzarra |

I think it's all well and good to push forward, but some caution was completely understandable and necessary... because we've been seen, our main mission of getting in and assessing what is inside may have been compromised. Paritosh can pass us information, but unless we can somehow talk the guards into letting us in, then we either have to kill someone or not let the specialists in to actually evaluate what is there.
I get the concern with slowing down the game... play by posts are notoriously slow moving when people aren't moving the action forward, but there has to be a balance where we can actually plan and converse as well.

Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |

We need Paritosh to tell us what he overheard.

GM Hansj |

Hopefully, for those uncertain but not that uncertain situations like shooting-or-not the crystal cat, the "If I get X signal, I do Y [plus roll]" would be a good solution solving the slow-down thing without forcing things. It's pretty much what Pathfinder calls "ready an action", so it's technically nothing new. But, sure, that applies only certain situations, other situations would rightfully require more discussion/delay, sure.
And having a back-and-forth discussion here about how fast the game is great. Just keep reminding me if things need to slow down - or speed up, or shift emphasis. GM Panic/Lady Lyra has done lots of that and I appreciate it. I love feedback - or I try to love feedback.
Remember, in Play by Post, no one is going to always get all of the feelings and tone of everyone else's comments. If things feel a bit awkward for you, just push back. Eventually we'll get it - I think we're getting more "in harmony" already.

Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |

Not saying anyone did anything wrong, bad or incorrect [not like I have any right too.] it's just, the key here is the info of the 3 new devices. I am trying not to metagame and have Lady L act like she knows this, until told. :)

Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |

So, gang, we shall see what's out there\\
anyone seen 'attack on present 13'?

GM Hansj |

I would like start using a house rule I have used in my IRL game.
Basically, the "aid another" action gives a variable bonus (outside of combat). If you roll greater than than 10 in your aid effort, the bonus is 2 + 1 per 5 points above 10.
1-10: 0, 11-15: 2, 16-20: 3, 21-25: 4...
The kind of action done would determines how many people could aid, of course. And naturally those aiding should remember to add a bit of narration about how they're aiding.

Arlo Brighthammer |

Nice! A way to making aiding someone more valuable!

May we use our own money to supplement the amount?
If so, I think this might be useful:
If not, I'll just get a headband of alluring charisma.

Two races the Elaron and the Kimtar. The Kimtar, an insectoid race, living on vast have ships and worlds. The Elaron a blue-skinned humanoid race who populated star systems by Tarrafarming.
As a new agent, she had been with a peace talks protection detail working for the Galactic Concordia. She was there when the explosive went off blasting the space station the talks were on wide open to the vacuum of space. There were millions on the station, she came too floating about 400m from the main concourse. Her left arm was missing and left foot. Other than that she was still intact. She was not spinning which was good. Bit she without a thrust belt she was helpless. From her position, she could see the superstructure of the station, the rip from top to bottom, floor after floor, open to space. Some seem to have intact forcefields holding the Amos in. But with such a massive breach the internal doors would have locked off internal spaces. But that still left walkways and rooms. As she looked about her, she could see a mass of bodies. Some still moving. That seemed odd as she must have been out for a while. And then she saw the horror of it. The power on the station was failing. She looked as a walkway force-field failed and its occupants were thrown into space. Thrashing and jerking as their bodily fluids boiled then froze. The now still forms now flow slowly past her. Young and old, and any number of genders and sexes. Then another and another. She closed her eyes, but then once in a while, a body hit her, sending her away with the frozen dead. She was there for a week. It was only when they came to get the bodies that they found her. By then the whole space station's power had failed. With life support gone, it was a mass grave tomb.

Anzarra |

... I'll just take the headband.
Anzarra's first knowledge of the Dark Traders was one night when she was supposed to be on a date, but her date, Zade, had stood her up. She waited and waited, not sure whether to be angry or worried, so she ended up with a little of both. Eventually, she changed clothes and settled in with a good book. A little later there was a knock on the door.
Assuming it was Zade, delayed and come to apologize, she took her time getting to the door, and there was Zade--apparently freshly killed on her doorstep, still bleeding everywhere, but with no blood trail. From the large and obvious wounds, she knew instantly that he was already gone, but in her anguish, she sunk down and clutched him to her anyway, casting a healing spell, wanting for it not to be true, and wishing there were a way to save him.
Of course the healing was in vain, the damage already done, and though she contacted her father and a cleric was sent over, she was told that Zade's soul had passed over and did not wish to return.
Hearing that, she was able to come back to herself a little. Zade was in a better place, or he would certainly want to return. She could at least trust that he was okay, even though hearing that he wouldn't come back also caused her a lot of pain and a sense of rejection. She went into fixer mode, cleaning up the blood and the mess, calling someone to take care of the body and get it to his parents, and arranging a new place to live, which was accomplished overnight.
It was late that night, a few hours before dawn, as she was clearing out Zade's apartment, that she came across his hidden research into the Dark Traders. That was a night that changed her life in many ways, for better and for worse.

She was 13, the age at which a citizen could choose to enter the VIRT. The Virtual reality that was boundless and infinite held in vast linked AIs. She was going to have a full upload of the mind and soul.
Full integration, as her new school was a full VIRT space.
She had talked with her parents, who had uploaded soon after she had been born. Old school birth, as they felt at the time it was more organic so better. They had split up soon after. Her father changing species and gender. Her Mother subliming into a gestalt commune mind. So had been alone most of her life so far. Yes, she had AI engrams left behind by them but she had grown bored of them as they never changed. Just the same thing over and over. It had been this feeling of being alone that had driven her to pick a VIRT school. There she would be with millions of students across thousands of star systems. But still, she was going to leave her body. Lose it forever and only her mind would be left.
Her name was called and she stood up. She had been waiting in the prosses center. A large white building close to the spaceport. She had been waiting alone in an office for an hour. Filling in the needed forms and showing her ID. The last question stopped her.
What do you wish to be done with your body?
There where options
Medical research
Organ donation
composting disposal.
Storage
She stopped, something deep down gripped her. Fear, she was going to die. Yes her mind would live on but her flesh the home she had known for years would be gone. It hit her that her body was the very last thing linking her to her parents. She started to cry she did not know why this was normal. Just about everyone entered to VIRT as some time. Flesh got old and stopped working. But in the VIRT you were immortal. So why was she so upset. A nurse came into the office.
"Hello there, How is it going?"
She turned her head away and whipped her tires away.
"Almost, just one last thing"
She clicked Storage and stood.
I'm ready

Moira Monday |

On the eve of her third decade, her world looked to the sky and found it burning. Moira Monday looked to her heart, and she found her green silk knot. Once more, it trailed a golden thread. At the other end, she once again found her Teachers, for the first time within her own world. One pulled golden threads from across her world, tarnished and twisted and wrong. One prepared the shears. One held Moira's golden fate and beckoned her onward. "Come, my child," they said. "Your world has doomed itself, that is fate. But you have not, not yet. As a child, I tought you to seek truth. I will teach you to seek fate, and you will make right what must be." Without looking back, the young Moira joined them.
The day that Moira went with the Norns, her world and everything, everyone she had known died. Collectively the people had brought it upon themselves, reaping the natural world to feed the engine of their sins. She watched as the norns worked dispassionately, mirroring their detachment. There were things and people within this soiled world that she liked and would miss, but there was nothing she truly loved. It didn't feel like her home, not like the first world did. She knew that not all in this world deserved to die, and the norns knew this as well. But precious few who die 'deserve' to, and the norns disabled her of the notion that anyone dies before their 'time.' There is only fate, of which death is ultimately a large part.

Planning for the future, if it ever comes up that Anzarra needs to use a non-inspire courage performance like countersong or fascinate, Moira gets a handful of rounds of low-level inspire courage per day from the Sensei. At 9th level, we could conceivably double up inspire courage and inspire greatness.

Anzarra |

Cool. :) Arrowsong minstrel takes away several of the other performances, but definitely good to keep in mind. :)

Sorry I'm so late. Weekends and all. Holiday weekend at that.
Ok, let's see here:

Just FYI, the "shields" that each of the characters were intended to provide a variable-bonus to your will saves to survive a number of the challenges of the Soul Well. But hey, you folks survived the test anyway, bloodied and beat up but still survive.
Still, I might have failed to communicate that you had this this floating bonus - either, those failing the will saves could have applied the shield-bonus after the fact to add to their saves. If people weren't aware of my intent here, I'm trying to think how I could communicate this better in the future.

This was a nice concise explanation. Still, its probably partly Potion Hoarding Syndrome.

You said we could use the shields to assist our saving throws; I got that.
However, you also said that it would drain the shields, and that the shields were also keeping the spirits away, so I took the damage so I didn't drain the shield and its other benefits.

Arlo Brighthammer |

Arlo is saving the bonuses from the shields against the Guardian, if needed.

Lady Lyra Anna Fitzroy |

Had a look over Lyra and I have removed her skills for things like detecting and reading magic, cus they just felt wrong. She just dose not get magic at all. Her thing is all body or force-based powers like magic.
So what to do with the sword?

GM Hansj |

But also, as you've seen, the world of Ovium involves a lot "magi-tech", mechanical devices. Lyra, Moira and Anzarra together have done work figuring one of them and there may well be more. I'll assume Lyra did the mechanical side. But I suppose Moira and Anzarra are going to have to step up as the experts.

GM Hansj |

Btw, we are nearly at the end of story arc #2 and when it ends you shall all level up. Also, you will get some appropriate amount of further magic/resources.
After that, we will go to "caper mode" where each character separately/alternatingly investigates various rumors and strange phenomena (and loose ends from the last arc). Eventually these investigations then come together to form a story arc. Plus here you can do a little more work on your backgrounds.
Just looking ahead to get you all thinking about this.
