I have already posted for this round, before Dawnfriend. Usually in Play by post, in the interest of keeping things flowing - usually all the players go when it is not the Bad Guys turn then the GM can just make one post updating it ^^ rather than us all going separately which can stretch things out ^^.

Good job everyone, glad we finally put that beast to rest.
I don't know about you guys, but personally I had another scenario lined up in the not-too-far future for Helios-4 because I did not expect we'd get caught up so long on this assignment.
Far be it from me to accuse anybody of delaying the game; if anyone, I've missed a couple of posts myself, and it's really not a big deal that we've taken some time to complete those assignments. But what would you all say if we put in that extra effort and try to go through the rest of the scenario in a timely manner? I think it'd definitely help keep the momentum going forward.

Can we have a rundown of how the race is gonna go? I'm not sure I follow 100%

As far as piloting goes I don't really mind; Helios has a +8 against 5ym0n's +9, but 5ym0n has one of our best weapons rolls (if not the best?) so I feel like he'd be better off as a gunner

Each round every racer has 2 phases
1st racers get the chance to fire on other racers. you have remote piloting and multiple weapons so up to two PCs can fire a weapon. You have one kinetic and one Energy weapon.
2nd Each racer makes a piloting check to see how well they race. There is a set DC. Anyone who hits it (taking into account penalties from hits taken that round) moves their full speed (base speed*10), anyone who fails moves half speed (base speed*5).
The track is 3000ft the first racer to cross wins.

If people want 5ym0n to be a gunner I'm up for that, I know 5ym0n has the better Piloting bonus, but Helios is an Ace Pilot theme so I feel like he should get that chance. I didn't want to be a spotlight hog, but if people want 5ym0n to be a Gunner I am cool with that. Assuming I see no objection to that I will make a roll with the ballistic weapon later today.
I think Taerem has the second-best bonus at gunner. So he should probably be the other gunner.
Side note, 5ym0n's pronouns are they/them. No big deal, I keep screwing it up too, but just a note.

Alright, si if we use the boost right now it would get us 1200 ft, meaning we finish the race in one round and don't have to worry about the half speed. But if Helios doesn't pass the check (which is a slim chance, even with the -4 from the hit), we only get 600 ft and maybe have our speed halved, which could potentially lose us the race. What do y'all suggest?
