I am fine with it. Foxy just found a way to move us forward. Personally, I would have just given the information on how this works with a K. arcana or engineering check to help us interpret the cryptic Terran message. The alternative was a days diversion to find some legend lore or similar magic to find out how to continue the adventure rails but our GM fortunately spared us the pain.

Also notice that you only have negative consequences on UMD if you get a natural 1 AND you fail the check. So, once you do not fail with a 1 you can retry without risks until success.

I'm not sure how far Hashan is restored. Omari's care doubles the healing. Which is then 2 points in 8h. But Resting a whole day only doubles that which would be 4 points out of 6, if I'm not mistaken.

Roryx, incorporeals use touch attacks, so the shield spell will not help you here I think. Just in case you want to reconsider your action at the light of the knowledge insight! ;)

So I will stick with his modus operandi - not like I have many alternatives anyway. Would rather not spend Mirror Image just yet...

EDIT: I just remembered that Roryx can now fly, up to 5 minutes per day. He could carry some of us without touching the stepping stones, but not Khedron I believe.

Yes. In the area of the fireball. Which isn't much in comparison to the size of the cave. But if your plan was to kill the slime in sight now, then go for it.

Friendly reminder: There was a call for a Fort save for most of the party (including familiars). Of course you don't need to save and can accept the 2 Con damage instead.

Holy s#%@! It made 8 attacks with grab! :O

Now, I guess it is too late to follow Ohrmizd advise and seal the beast back.

I will wait to see if that beast is grabbing with just one tentacle (with the -20) or fully grappling with all its body and thus grappled himself and unable to take AoOs.

Thanks to Omari's explanation of the difference between grapple and grab, the beast can now grab with all tentacles. Also, I just noticed, that I only used 8 of ten tentacles. Happy Day of the Tentacle!

@ foxy : Ok, I have put a red box on the map where I think the beasts main body is considered to be, please confirm this. It has demonstrated 15' of reach, as it has not attacked Ohrmizd in his initial position... This is important as I need to figure out my position so as not to eat an AoO for every shot I take... Finally, after your comments above, I assume you plan on rolling the 2 more tentacle attacks, and all the grab attempts?

Only next round will the remaining tentacles come into action. I'll search for an appropriate monster representation.

Until then we can go with the square. It is indeed 10ft in size, but as I told it can reach everywhere in the room with the tentacles. It's ultimate reach you can try out by retreating. I also centered it, position is set.

If you just pulled up Roryx in the initiative, then it has not been yet the second round of the Kraken and he should have not taken any attack, isn't it? :)

As the Kraken took a round, I understood we were back to us. But I might be confused and missing something else.

About pasting the grabs and damage with all the attacks, totally understandable, and I think it is a common practice in the boards for GMs. It would be useful to have some adjudication on what are the results of the attacks though (not everyone is as skillful in understanding what is happening to his PC from just a dice roll, and most players are bad at keeping track of their character status), despite I know that is a tone of effort (gathering and checking ACs and other defensive effects from PCs, etc.). Most GMs wrap up with some descriptive text, others write a line telling how much damage takes whom in a given round, others keep a status track with the current HP of the PCs, and some others even Bold the dice results that are successful for a visual cue.

When I posted the 20 was on the Grab and the Bite was the 2. I think she edited to add the Reflex save on top or something.

And something went wrong with the Initiative order too. Either Heshan and Roryx previous turn was skipped or the Kraken had a free extra turn of attacks.

Not to blame you Omari, but Foxy rarely gives us any more information than "is magic", "is evil" etc. and I start to think she enjoys the most the more blindly we take decisions even if they endanger derailing the AP main plot.

Ok, take the chainmail then, the ability to cast without failure is important for Roryx and ranger gives him the required medium armor proficiency, I do not think we will find similar armors.
