I think a large air elemental is limited to picking up 4 medium creatures GM.

Spoilsport alert. I read your post and thought you can't cast a CMW out oif a 1st level featherfall spell. So I checked if I'm mistaken about the 1st level of featherfall. Then I checked your stats and there it is as 2nd level domain spell. But you can't use spells in domain slots for spontaneous cure spells.

Really? I didn't know that. Oops. Subtract my remaining Burst of Radiance then. Also, I have a lot less spell slots available for healing... We definitely need to get out of here and rest. Not to mention it will very likely take us a full day off to get to healed up.
Manuun |
[ooc]We also have enough Wands of CLW to patch us up to go in tomorrow again[/b]
Ohrmizd |
In general it is better to use wands to heal out of combat and reserve channels for when multiple people is injured, leaving spells only for in combat emergency healing or for conversion before sleep.
Ohrmizd still had more than half his resources available before he started healing himself, but if Omari and Heshan are deprived of spells right now, we had to go sleep anyway.
I would say if after resting we are still injured, we patch up using the potions and wands.
Manuun |
@ Roryx I have tried to administer the loot sheet again and we have found about 9 CLW Potions today so feel free to use as much as you need.
@ Omari Do you want to share the arrows +1? Currently I have taken them for me as I have no magic weapon. but of course you ddeserve half of them.
Omari the Landless |
As a tactical Q, what say we try the spider's lair tower tomorrow first of all. Hopefully the fire is done...
WRT to healing, I have 1 CLW I can cast.
After mundane healing overnight, Omari is down 5 and Khedron is down 12...
I think we can redirect Ohrmizd spells to cover that (Khedron will be down 1). I think Roryx needs some more though, even after the treat deadly wounds...
How much more healing do you need Roryx (you got 19 from Long term care and treat deadly wounds)?

I think that part of the dungeon only leads back to the throne room, so we would still need to get through the choke point.
Ohrmizd |
I do not mind the occasional ooc text with clarification or a short question, but it is always unsettling when I read more blue text than black.
It would be great if we could keep discussion on the Discussion thread and leave Gameplay to the unfolding story and combat rolls.
Yeah, I am getting pickier, it is a side effect of getting older I am told xD
Ohrmizd |
They are mindless and they do not need to see in order to crawl over us, just move where we are, so I think that will not help Heshan.
What did you buy in the end with your coin before we left Kelmerane?
Finally, I hope you do not mind Ohrmizd talk about the fireball, it has become a kind of ongoing joke between our characters and I take it in a light way to try break the tension of the game :)
But let me know if it is not fun for you.

...
"On the bad side, that was all my remaining fire power" ...
Actually, RAW, you can swear it to death. You have Blistering Invective with affects an area and does fire damage on a successful intimidate check. Intimidate is a fear effect, which is not inherently mind-affecting... and thus being mindless does not protect the vermin. On the other hand, many GM's houserule this (that you can use intimidate on mindless vermin).

Blistering Invective
School evocation (fire, language-dependent)I don't think so.

I kept the money for the time being... which isn't really helping us right now.
Ohrmizd |
I thought about it. I mean, it is cool blistering invective works on as many individuals around, so it means you intimidate and put to fire all the little centipedes one by one :)
But I saw the language-dependent descriptor and so I did not even try.
Actually I like the bribing idea, have my vote sir xD
Ohrmizd |
Mmm... getting to think again on this...
GM, can I use blistering invective to self-intimidate myself and explode into flames, throwing myself as a bonzo flame on the centipedes?
Ohrmizd |
Have you seen Ohrmizd fall himself from the roof of the monastery? xD
I am sure rules-wise is problematic, but I do not see how else to contribute to this combat. Actually, unless someone has a bunch more alchemicals, we probably should consider leaving.
Omari the Landless |
It may well be time to run away. I have one more flask of alchemist fire... So I'll throw that and hope... but after that, yeah, it's time to try another approach. The real question is can we get out through 18, or is it still an oven?
Ohrmizd |
Fair enough. Do you want to start burning every time from now on, when you use the spell and manage to intimidate yourself?
Ohm... I think we better forget this idea xD
Please, consider Ohrmizd delaying for the time being, unless we decide to retreat.
Manuun |
Well hopefully thats solves that problem, but other wise I am out of options too. I will bring a few more to the next dungeon.
Omari the Landless |
How do you get +3 damage on a splash weapon attack?
Archeologists Luck ability and point blank shot
Manuun |
Actually Only Luck, I should get one more for PBS
Foxy Quickpaw |
Yes, you are on the opposite side of the centipedes entrance.
Gargantuan wasn't meant descriptive, but pathfinder size level, so yes, squeezing, but without rolling of escape artist checks.
I didn't put up a map for that and I didn't roll initiative yet on purpose. I'd quote Gandalf, but if you insist to fight, you should level up to 6 before the fight starts at least. Because it's due, and you are seriously lacking the high ground here.

The area counts as difficult terrain for large, and larger creatures. Everyone else needs to climb, which means a quarter of the movement. And probably being flat footed all the time.
Manuun |
You can also run and level up.
That sounds like a reasonable plan to me.
Omari the Landless |
Proposal : Parthian Tactics. Shoot up the Centipede and let it come to us. Lure it into the constricted space tunnel. See if we can kill it, and then run away with it as a plug...
Manuun |
Even if we won, wouldn't we have to flee anyway? I don't think we can climb up this bowl while fighting the gnoll king. So why waste or spells on the monster?
Omari the Landless |
On the theory that we'll have to fight the centipede anyways when we come back. If we can kill it now, without fighting carrion king and friend(s), we won't have to fight it with him, when come back for him...
Manuun |
I don't see why we need to fight it if we manage to get at the king from a different direction, and therefore xuggesting retreat, but I don't feel very strong about it.
