Sorry for leaving some feeling abandoned.
I did look in each day and while things were racing ahead a little faster than I had planned, I also knew that you were in good hands with logsig and Hmm providing guidance.I am going to take a look at where each of you is with your character sheets and then decide if we split the group now or stay together for a couple more lessons.
If anyone is using Hero Lab Online as their character generation tool, please let me know here. I will then provide instructions on how to easily transfer all that information directly into your character sheet.
I am! It would be awesome to have an easy way to do it, their bbcode printout is just not as nice as the stand-alone herolab is. Do you need any info from me?
And then I read past the first post of yours and saw that there were slides :D

GM Hmm |

Okay, I think I've finished my sheet for now. If someone could double-check it?
It looks pretty good. BTW, if you are not planning to cast spells, you might be able to cut out the parts that deal with spells. But don't worry about that if editing your sheet's a pain because you're on your phone. It's something that can be cleaned up later.

I'm not on my phone, I'm just terrible with computers! I was going to delete that part, but I wanted to make sure it was okay. Thanks for the help!

I have reviewed everyone's character profiles and sent each a PM with feedback.
This review brought forward a couple of topics.
The first is gender and pronouns. My personal recommendation is that if pronouns are important to you, include them in your header either immediately after gender identification or instead of. That way everyone can find them easily each and every time they look. This is where I look first and I don't always have time to open a character's profile (let alone multiple profiles) when typing my response or moving the story forward as a GM.
I had planned to discuss a useful tool for all players and GMs to be aware of and that is Archives of Nethys. AoN or aonprd.com has an official relationship with Paizo and is a searchable website for the three campaigns (PF1, PF2, SF). You can find it here. Once on the main page, make sure to click on the correct campaign as the default is PF1. You could also go straight to PF2 by using 2e.aonprd.com.
One of the profiles I reviewed made great use of links to AoN. This is very useful for some spells or feats so the GM or others may quickly find the relevant information and better understand your character or how to apply your botting instructions. It is also a great personal backup so that you can quickly remind yourself of the details.
As there are still a few of you working on the basics for your character profiles, I am going to pause here and stay open to further questions.
Next up: Probably a quick look at some of the standard practices for posting in and out of character. Plus, I should probably review some of the PFS2 specific basics.

Added botting spoiler for Redd. Please let me know if it's too little or too much.

I didn't see dice expressions for your attacks, so I am going to say too little! Make sure that it can save you typing time!

Hmm
Regarding dice expressions saving typing time, I really don't think they do. Not for everyone, anyway. I put them in my "Botting" section to help the GM, but, for me anyway, highlighting one specific section, then copying and pasting it, would take me nearly as long as just typing it out when I need to. Just food for thought.

Same here. I don't have a computer. I'm only using my smartphone.

I have my character on my phone, but I'm doing this part on the computer. I'm just not very dextrous when it comes to the highlighting and what have you.

Another couple of slides starting to discuss the specifics of Pathfinder Society, starting with slide 25.
I started to expand on boons and have plans for more but I am currently too tired to keep writing.
Homework: look at the sections of the Guide to play and read up on the schools and factions

Very nice clarification on the one boon picked from your schools not one per school. I'd allocated two to swords and one to spells to get two boons. I'm off to fix that and put all three into swords.
Keep up the great work! This is so valuable.

As far as Outpost III goes, it occurred to me later that it is strictly an open, first-come-first-seated, convention. We would need to ask for special dispensation to add already formed tables. It may still be possible but do not expect it.
As a PFS2 game, each of us would still have a chance to win a gift certificate. Instead of "rolling for boons" or rather a chance to win a boon, PFS2 tables earn AcP, achievement points. The display of AcP is currently broken but being worked on. Scenarios earn more than quests, GMs earn more than players, supported cons provide bonus AcP. You can then spend your AcP on boons of your choice, you just need to save for them.
I will cover that in the next set of slides as I discuss different types of boons, how to gain them, how to use them.
Hopefully tonight but off to have dinner first.

Okay, now I'm confused again. Where does it talk about schools and boons? I have 2 points in Swords and 1 in Scrolls. Is this wrong?

The benefits you gain from each school depends on the number of networking points you invest in it, and the benefits are cumulative.
1 Point: When selecting your free consumable item at the beginning of the adventure, you can choose one of the items on the school’s list of options.
2 Points: You become trained in one of the Lore skills associated with that school, listed below. At 5th level, you gain a bonus skill feat selected from the list below.
Scrolls: For the Lore skill, choose from Accounting Lore, Library Lore, or Scribing Lore. For the bonus skill feat, choose from Assurance, Automatic Knowledge, Multilingual, or Streetwise.
Spells: For the Lore skill, choose from Academia Lore, Architecture Lore, or Herbalism Lore. For the bonus skill feat, choose from Arcane Sense, Assurance, Quick Identification, or Recognize Spell.
Swords: For the Lore skill, choose from Gladiatorial Lore, Scouting Lore, or Warfare Lore. For the bonus skill feat, choose from Cat Fall, Experienced Smuggler, Forager, or Hefty Hauler.
3 Points: When selecting your free consumable item at the beginning of the adventure, you may also choose a second item from the options available whose item level is no greater than half your level (minimum 1) in addition to your regular item.
It's not wrong to put points in 2 different schools, just as long as you are cool with what happens when you do that.
If you put 2 points into a single school, you get one free item at the beginning of each adventure, one Lore skill, and a bonus skill feat at 5th level. Putting your remaining 3rd point into a different school does not get you another free item from the second school - you just get to choose your one free item from either school.
However, if instead you put all 3 points into a single school, you get two free items at the beginning of each adventure - one at your level and one at half your level (minimum 1). You also still get the one Lore skill, and a bonus skill feat at 5th level.
Note: Regardless of which school(s) you distribute your points in, you can always choose the free item(s) you're entitled to from the All-Schools list instead.
(If you're field-commissioned, you get no free items at level 1 and can only take 1 free item from the All-Schools list at half your level.)

Yeah, I knew all of that, but thanks. The word "boon" was throwing me. I think Serane meant to say "consumables".
Putting one point into Scrolls fits my character concept, which is why I did it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake.

Here is a bonus for you, though I still recommend saving frequently when making your character sheets and copy before review and post, there is also a tool you can add as a chrome extension:
I have not yet used it. One of the other VOs recommended it and I am about to give it a try.

Next set of slides will be on how to sign up for games, what to expect, and conventions of posting and formatting for games.
I will try to have those up sometime tomorrow but definitely before the during the weekend.
I have confirmed a third GM so hopefully, we will have three tables of four players each.
I have yet to ask about joining Outpost III. I will try to do that very soon.

Players:
Tyranius said that we could be part of OutPost III. Welcome to the convention, everyone! How many people are we short still to have 3 tables of 4 each? I could recruit Bret if we need another player? Does anyone have the current player count?
Does everyone have a character sheet and headers ready?
★ --- ★ --- ★ --- ★
GMs
Another question, and this one is about organizing. Do we all want each of our gameplays tied to this discussion thread? It will make navigating tabs a bit messier, but we could all share a discussion. Or do we want to have three separate campaigns, but all come back here for discussion?
Hugs
Hmm

According to 'the Hammer's' count above, we have 12, unless someone has bowed out since then. I think most people are ready with their headers and sheets.

yes we currently have 12. with 3 more applicants having popped into the recruitment thread but not posting here yet.

if a player can weigh in. I think having separate games with their own 'game discussion' thread...and coming back here for game mechanics discussions would be best. we can have links put up for fast branching.

I'm hoping we can get some directions/lessons & slides on how to make gameplay posts. Game has started and I've been asked to introduce myself "in character" in logsig's gameplay thread.
Oh! Someone else posted first. I'll use that as a guide.
