Welcome. After recruitment closes and a team is decided we will begin discussions here.
This is not planned as a particularly fast game but rather an introduction to Play-by-Post (PbP), PFS2, and our online Organized Play community.
I would still like to aim for a minimum on one post per day if possible.

Slides 6-12 discuss finding your campaigns page, adding campaigns, and organizing your campaigns page.
Once you have read the slides, feel free to "ninja dot" into the gameplay thread of this campaign to try it out.
I will now wait a bit for everyone to move over and find us and catch up. If I haven't heard from someone by Monday, then I will try to PM them.

Read and ninja dotted :3
Also you can sort campaigns?!?! Is that a desktop option?
It may be a desktop-only option. I may also be an option from a third party add on that I haven't discussed yet but intend to. I have discovered since posting the directions that it currently isn't sticking. It reorders fine and then the next time I visit or refresh it reverts. I will investigate later.

GM Numbat |

What is "ninja dot"?
"Ninja dot" is just another and fun term for "dotting in". I believe the term "dotting in" comes from the fact that in the list of forums, a dot appears next to any thread into which you have posted. For campaigns, this only applies to Gameplay threads. People use it to mark threads to be able to find them later.
Any post will do this but "dot and delete" or "ninja dot" refers to the practice of deleting the post immediately, intentionally to generate the dot or place a game in your campaigns.

This is the first time I have run a specific teaching group (rather than one-on-one mentoring) so while I always value feedback this is even more important this time. I will be making my slides and feedback available to others who are willing/interested in doing something similar.
Please let me know if anything is unclear, if you have any specific questions, or any suggestions for improvement.

Reading the slides looks spot on.
I just never heard of ninja dot. It has always been dotting in, or dot and delete. And I thought it came from that juse need to put a "." And then post it. Then when you delete the post the game shows up on your main page to see any new post.

Checking in. (This is hsider, or Hugh). By default I'll take in this character, a level 1 fighter with one scenario run.
If we need a higher level character for one of the tables, I also have a level 3 cleric that hasn't done this scenario yet, and could bring him. If we're all lvl1, I'd rather stick with the crowd.

One of the players suggested I provide a link for Flaxseed Lodge, given that I had recommended adding it to your campaigns.
Flaxseed was the original PFS PbP lodge. It still hosts PFS1 and PFS1-Core campaigns.
Cottonseed Lodge was originally established for the PF2 Playtest and now hosts the PFS2 campaign.
We also have lodges for Starfinder Society and Pathfinder Adventure Cardgame Society. Plus there is a "lounge" for GMs to go for support.
I know we have new to Society players in this group. Please let me know if you want more information on the structure of Organized Play, such as what/who are Venture Officers; how do lodges work, etc. I do plan to cover things like the players guide, chronicle sheets, and some of the terms you will likely hear, but do not want to overwhelm anyone with too much information.

Yes, I'd like to know all of those things.
Also, I'm having some technical difficulties. I'm trying to sort them in the "Website" forum, but if you can direct to some kind of guide, it would be appreciated.
So, should we link to the Cottonseed Lodge and Flaxseed or just Cottonseed since we'll be in PFS2?

Looks like you got your avatar issue sorted out there?
Whether you dot into Flaxseed, the PFS1 lodge, is totally up to you - if you don't intend to play PF1 you can ignore it most of the time, but as Numbat said in the slides, the Flaxseed page has links to Events (online conventions) which include PF2 games. It may be convenient to have it in your campaign list so you can easily find it.

I think so. I'll test it here.

I added both to my "Campaign" list. Is there a way to organize them in a different way? I'm not seeing the "Custom" button from the slide presentation, and I'd prefer a horizontal sorting like in the slide over the vertical sorting it has now.

Numbat will probably go over that here soon, but short answer is you can do that with a browser extension called Paizo Campaign Tools written by Oladon.

So... If I understand correctly we take a look at flaxseed to look for New 1e games and cottonseed for 2e.
A little and maybe off topic question, to play pfs 1e we Just register a New pc and jump into recruitment? Or we should look for an introductorio game like this one?

Make your PFS1 character, introduce yourself in the Flaxseed discussion thread and make it know that you are new and wanting to try PFS1 PbP.
As far as I know, this is the first specific introductory session for players we have run. We have run a few GM schools to help players learn to transition to PbP GMing.

This is the PC I will be using.
(Roll4initiative)

Is it possible to change factions once you've begun using a character?
roll4initiative is correct. PFS2 characters can, and likely will, gain reputation with multiple factions so you keep the reputation you have earned. You also have to consider any consumables you have spent but other than that, before playing a character at level2 (or above) you may change anything about them, including the free Faction Champion Boon. It is possible to purchase or earn another Faction Champion Boon later if you wish to be able to slot that to earn reputation normally with an additional faction, though you can only have one slotted at any given time.
We will discuss slotting boons a little later.

I think I am now only waiting on one player to make their way into this discussion. Unless I missed GreatGraySkwid making an appearance.
Time to ask, does anyone need basic character generation assistance?
I will cover PFS2 specifics and PbP formatting, I am asking about the basics of making your Bard or Rogue or whoever.

![]() |

I would like some help at formatting a sheet/stat block for a 2e pc, it's kinda different to 1e x.x
And I want to make a half elf, undead bloodline sorcerer, mostly an healer/harmer debuffer and eventually blaster when I get some nice necromantic spells n.n

I think you can spend Prestige Points to change factions later on.
Prestige is a term used in PFS 1E. In PFS2 2E, there are instead Reputation and Fame. Reputation is faction-specific: it determines your standing with each faction, while Fame is a non-faction-specific currency that you can use to buy boons.
PFS2 characters can, and likely will, gain reputation with multiple factions so you keep the reputation you have earned.
To emphasize this, note that bonus reputation for faction missions is awarded to characters regardless of their currently slotted faction. So, for example, if you've chosen to represent Grand Archive when playing a scenario that has a Vigilant Seal faction tag (not all scenarios have faction tags), then you will get the normal scenario reputation for Grand Archive, AND the bonus faction reputation for Vigilant Seal... assuming you accomplish that mission, of course.
[Earlier on there was a scenario published (PFS2 #1-04) where the bonus rep seemed like it was supposed to only be awarded to characters that were currently representing the specific faction, but it was clarified that this was not intended.]
