The last hope of Falcons Hollow

Hello everyone! I was a pretty popular DM back in the day but I've gotten busy with real life and have been inactive or about 5 or so years. I've decided to dust off my account and get a few games started up. First off I thought I would run an oldie but a goody in Hollows last HOpe. Character creation details are as follow:

Stats-I am going to be generous and let you do 2d6+6 for stats, roll two sets and take your favorite.

Races-All core + Advanced Races playtest races are available to play. I'm limiting RP to 22 if you do an advanced race.

Books-Any PF1 material is allowed but I'm not a huge fan of the psionic adaptaitons.

HP-Max HP at first level, roll after that

Gold-Average starting gold

Traits- 2 traits

Hero Points- I will be using hero points for this game. You all start
out with 1 hero point.

Any questions can be asked here

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18

Probably gonna roll with the second one. Will see what I can come up with. Probably a ranger or something martial in that regard.

What can I say...I'm a sucker for rolling...lol

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13

Well, it looks like it will be the first set!!

Hello!

By "any PF1 material" you mean Paizo material, or 3PP as well?

Meanwhile, let's give it a try:

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13

Time to give the dice a toss, see what can come up.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 13
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15

No 3PP will be allowed, sorry should have said that in my intro post. I figure with everything that paizo published for 1e there should be enough material.

A few things I forgot to mention yesterday while I was at work and threw this up:

-This is a first edition game. I do not have enough experience with the second edition to try gming it yet and this is a VERY old module(pre pathfinder) and I don't have time to convert it.

-NO 3PP MATERIALS, please. Everything pazio published in 1e should give you more than enough to work with.

-The game will be run here on the site.

-Not that it matters because the game is run here but I am in the EST(GMT-5).

-I will be posting from work 99% of the time and as far as I know(could change at any time) those will range from 1-9PM EST.

I'll dot for interest. I've actually never played Hollow's Last Hope, so this will be a fun one for me.

Set 1:

Stat 1: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
Stat 2: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
Stat 3: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
Stat 4: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
Stat 5: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
Stat 6: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13

Set 2:

Stat 1: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3) + 6 = 15
Stat 2: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
Stat 3: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
Stat 4: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
Stat 5: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
Stat 6: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17

Hmmm...I think I'll go with the second set. The first one has an 18, but the second is more well-rounded and gives me more options.

EDIT: Do we ever level up during this adventure, or is it pretty much all at level 1?

I'll double check when I get to work but I'm 99% sure it's all level 1. It is part of a story arch that I might run.

Okay. I was debating about possibly doing a character that would eventually become an Eldritch Knight, but if the adventure stays at level 1, I think I'll make a magus, instead.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 = 13

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13

Giving it a roll.

Glad to see you around still @Archlich

Not that its needed right now but I've typed up a tracking sheet of people who have rolled stats for this as well as what jobs people are leaning towards. It will be much more helpful later if this gets beyond the first page before I close it but figured since I had time at work I'd get it started.

Casters:

Non-Casters:

Please check the spoilers and make sure I got you. I'm 99% sure I didn't miss anyone.

Not very impressive, but I could work with set 2.

For those of you who are having trouble rolling stats(there have been a few) go ahead and use a 20 point build if you want, nothing below 10 or above 18 including racial bonuses.

Hi, sorry, I'm going to withdraw interest here.

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12

Hmm, not too bad, I'm planing on adding a Magus to the ring, Though in interest of full disclosure, I've been involved in two previous groups that has ATEMPTED to run the Falcon's Hollow series of adventures.
None got too far, but it does leave me with some out of character knowledge.
So if that's not acceptable I'll understand.

I don't have a problem with you having previous knowledge as long as you don't meta game

Hmm...This could be interesting. Let's see how the dice roll and what inspiration strikes:

Set One:

Roll 1: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13
Roll 2: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Roll 3: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
Roll 4: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Roll 5: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14

Roll 2: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Roll 3: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13

Roll 5: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
Roll 6: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12

Like set #2, I have a couple of ideas, let me work on this tonight and hopefully tomorrow I can have a good character idea worked out. I work a 13 hour day tomorrow so if not then by Friday at the latest.

Working with set two, I am thinking a Suli Unchained Monk / Scaled Fist specializing in unarmed combat in the Dragon style.

Let me know what other information you might like to have on background, etc.

Set #1:
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 6 = 10

Set #2:
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10

Ah greetings, I would like to throw my hat into the ring as it were. I have played in a Falcon's hollow adventure once before, so I am familiar with the setting here.

I would like to settle on set #2. As far as character concept, a Lawful Good Aasimar cleric of Sarenrae, with the Glory and Sun domains.

Originally was thinking oracle, but think I will come up with something different. I will go with my bottom set of stats I rolled above.

Lets see my luck.

Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8

or

Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 13
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
Stats: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10

I think I can work with the second set.
Will get something fleshed up in a day or so.

Liberty's Edge

Set 1
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 18
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 10
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 6 = 12
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9

Set 2
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 6 = 11
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
Perception: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4) + 6 = 11

Id take the first and go with a Dwarven Cleric

What brings you to Falcons Hollow, are you a resident or did you come there for some other reason?

So I figured this little blurb about the module might be helpful

The town of Falcon's Hollow needs a miracle. The plague has come to the town of Falcon's Hollow, and not even the town's priest can abate its wretched course. With the coughs of the sick and the wails of the dying echoing through town, the local herbalist uncovers a cure, but she needs some brave heroes to retrieve the ingredients. Finding the cure means risking the dangerous Darkmoon Vale, infiltrating a witch's haunted hut, and delving the ruins of an abandoned dwarven monastery.

Liberty's Edge

Ok, going to pull back from this one...have fun all!!

heres my dwarf. Id adjust the build to match your stats. and rework the background a little

he was originally created for Reign of Winter..but it fell through.

itd be easy to adjust him..and hes fun for me to play.

I'm going to have to withdraw from this as well. Just not happening for me. Be good!

Here's Phntm888's magus, Kerak Fellspar, who's come to Falcon's Hollow looking to enter the dangerous Darkmoon Vale and prove everyone who said he'd never amount to anything wrong.

What brings you to Falcons Hollow, are you a resident or did you come there for some other reason?

Thanks for the background on the adventure setting. Listen, if you will, to the tale of Uriel the Fist:

His mother had been travelling through the Hollow, heavy with child, when her time came. She spoke few words, and was even more circumspect about the baby's father, but when he came out a fiery red-headed child, she gasped with astonishment and gave him the name "Uriel", which means Flame of the Gods. Yet the birth was difficult for her, and those words became her last, as the Gods called her back to their bosom, and the child was orphaned.

Uriel grew rapidly in strength and speed, but something of that difficult birth stayed with him, and his mental capacities never grew beyond that of a 12 year old. Still, he had a good sense for people and could easily make them laugh despite his limited intellect. The day it happened was like any other. A careless word spoken in haste by the town bully who fancied himself much cleverer than the stupid redhead...yet the redhead had good hearing, and suddenly the flaming of his hair became the flaming of a fist and the bully found himself a fetched up against a wall ten feet away, bruised and burned.

His life changed that day, as Uriel found a strict regimen of duties thrust upon him in service to the local church--that bully was the son of a prominent townsperson, so it was either the church or the jail. Uriel flourished under the scheduled discipline of the monastic life, adding control and skill to the raw strength his heritage granted him. Yet fate is often fickle, and so it was that plague came to Falcon's hollow, and the town priest Uriel had come to revere so could not stop the spread of disease. Desperate to help the priest, Uriel is ready to assist anyone who will aid in curing the disease--if they can put up with his strange combination of childlike mentality and warrior's physique.

Here is my Half-Orc Barbarian

Kilain, 3rd born in House Gravendak, of Clan Quarrymaster of the Hammer Halls, in The Five Kings Mountains. As is normal, The First born carries the Family Name as heir, 2nd goes in the military and 3rd goes to the church. Kilain went to the church. He has been training in his prayers to The Soul Forger and follows the tenants of the Dwarven Faith as close as possible. He is eager to serve the church and awaits their first assignment.
The Church Elders determined that Kilain was to travel to the area near Falcons Hollow and explore the old dwarven ruins in the vicinity for any relics or heirlooms to be brought back

I'll double check when I get to work but I'm 99% sure it's all level 1. It is part of a story arch that I might run.

Hadn't seen this comment until today.

So as you have guessed by my question in your "Crypt of the Everflame" recruitment thread I'm interested in the possibility of a longer story arch. So I would like to apply to this game as well.

character idea:

Thinking Ranger (trapper), slayer or unchained rogue. A skill character with teeth.

I like the idea of a tengu from the shackles that needed a quick escape. So boarding a ship to Andoran agreeing to be an 'indentured servant.' His indenturement being purchased by the Consortium he ends up in Falcon's Hollow. I would base the personality on a 'pathfinder' character I played Named Ting.

Or may go with a half elf who lives on the fringe of the Darkmoon Vale and found his way to town. Not sure yet. Going to crunch some numbers, I will have something before Tuesday.

Assuming that Featured Races' are approved. This is RH's Tengu unchained rogue, Taicho. Ended up going with the first set of numbers. If 'Featured Races' are not ok, I will put together a half elf slayer.

Backstory:
Taicho Maous was born in the Tengu slums of Port Peril. As a hatchling he was raised by His mother, Kankai Maous, Who ran her "curiosity shop" there in the slums; where she sold the goods Taicho’s father would deliver. His absentee father Ting Ting "I know a guy" Maous was usually out to sea, working for different ships, both pirate and smugglers, as a ‘Jinx eater.’ Ting would bring the items he collected while on ship to his wife to sell in the store. When father was home he regaled Taicho with stories of the sea and the different countries he had seen.

The young Taicho ran with other Juvenile delinquent Tengu there in Port Peril. For a long time Taicho was undersized, and the others would pick on him, so he learned to react quickly and avoid being bullied. As he grew older and larger, he was accepted into one of the local juvenile gang called the 'blackfeathers.' The 'Blackfeathers' taught Taicho the tools of the trade, eventually becoming a competent thief; specializing in picking locks and second story work.

The juvenile Taicho’s life took an unforeseen turn when he ran afoul of a local Pirate captain in Port Peril. He and some friends were playing a game of ‘pocket pinch,’ seeing who could get the most coins cutting purses. Sadly Taicho tried to cut the purse of a well known pirate named Captain Lock. One of Lock’s sailors noticed Taicho trying to cut the captain's purse and pointed it out. A chase ensued. Taicho lost the sailor in the slums, but Captain Lock had enough influence to learn who Taicho was. He had to leave Port Peril.

Approaching a ship that was loaded and ready to leave. Taicho offered to serve the ship as a ‘Jinx Eater,’ as his father did. The Andoran captain informed Taicho that he had no need for a ‘Jinx Eater’ but that he would provide transportation to Andoran if Taicho signed a ‘letter of indenturement.’ The Contract meant that Taicho would serve as an indentured servant for seven years. Not having any other options Taicho signed the letter, using the alias ‘Blackfeather’ to protect his family in Port Peril.

When Taicho landed in Andoran his ‘letter of indenturement’ was quickly sold to a rich merchant family, where Taicho would serve as a cook assistance. When the families fancy silverware came up missing, Taicho’s letter was sold to another. This happened again and again, until Taicho found his letter in possession of the Lumber Consortium. He was sent to Falcon’s Hollow to finish his indenturement harvesting the region's rich supplies of darkwood.

His indentured servitude now over, Taicho, though no longer working for the Lumber Consortium, has not raised enough money to leave.

Paizo services to make a new profile or modify one has been down for me. I looked into the forums and looks like I am not the only one. When it is restored I will attempt to create a character.

Recruitment will be closing Tomorrow. Those of you who still have outstanding characters should be getting a PM from me sometime today as a reminder to finish your submission. I need to update my list of submitted characters first so I don't PM the wrong people. Should have the updated list up by midafternoon today depending on how busy work is for me.

** spoiler omitted **...

Tengu are fine

Looks like we still need characters from Grandlounge, Zyfarion(waiting for paizo updates), Oblivion's Scion, The Archlich, Capt Mutt, and Mokshai. Although I'm seeing a balanced party possible with what we have but I'll be making my official selection tomorrow.

Thanks GM! I’ll withdraw here as I already applied on the other games.
