To clarify the cult of Nysos is quite different from the cult of Nylarthotep. Still you wouldn't be surprised if the venn diagram of the cultists had some crossover.

Edwin doesn't have high enough skills to the pass multiple checks needed to actually learn anything.

Fear not, you can learn the important bit (about assassins) by asking around. The inner workings of the cult of Nysos isn't well known.

Metagame point, Red is dangerous but there's only one of her... If you can arrange a fair fight, odds are likely on your side.

It's still interesting to me, though I kind of wish we could just wipe out the bad guys faster... but as I am sure we have all realized, I am a little impatient. :)

I'm cool with continuing, but honestly also cool with starting something new if everyone is bored with this. I could definitely be done... I just would need to assume that we eventually triumphed over the evil darkness. :)

I think you're making some solid progress in that direction the book you just stole is fairly important.

More research is needed to crack the books secrets. With time you think you might be able to find out the names of some high ranking cultists in other towns.

Speaking of shooting the enemy in the eye, my bard (bards!) in a washed up S&S game, killed an enemy with his violin. Used it and its bow as an improvised crossbow to the eye. Because, well, if an enemy swears lifelong hunting you....

GM, about the spoiler of reanimating her corpse, i am wondering about something.

Assuming they reanimate her, as a zombie lord, wouldn't that imply they put a soul into that body?

A low level module had the spirit of a bandit reanimate his skeleton.
But if Jack prevents them from drawing back her soul for a spell, they'd have to draw forth a different soul for such a purpose? Would the zombie lord assassin still possess all her qualities?

I could be overthinking this, of course. :)

Yeah interesting question Xindrya, Jack's got a good hold on her soul but maybe a hypothetical ritual to reanimate her tears a fragment of her soul off and the rest is filled with pure evil.

Hmm player engagement has really fallen off over the past eighteen months and I guess it's my fault. It's not easy trying to run homebrew on PbP. I do have the outline of a plot that would draw the campaign to a (hopefully) satisfactory end. Depending on the pace, it's six months to a year (or more if we go slow).

Or we could say this isn't working and stop here. Thought

This busybody's one of the most enjoyable PCs i've had the fun to run in quite some time. I can't speak for the others, of course.

I'm having a lot of difficulty keeping track of the plot myself.

I'd rather continue and be able to finish the story... destroy the darkness and the cultists that worship it, bring back hope to the universe, etc. ... But really not sure if that is where we're going.

I get that it is hard, for DM and players, in play by post sometimes, and if the vote is to stop, I'm okay with that... but if that is the decision, could you maybe still write something up that tells us in general what happened to the heroes, and the rest of the world?

Yes if we end up stopping yes I will.

Zen, do you GM games, per chance?

I have a couple of times with my family, and tried once on a group call once, but I wasn't all that great at it. I love the story, but I kept forgetting things, and unsure how to balance so everyone is having fun, etc. Why do you ask? Was I asking something unreasonable? :)
