The matron attacks Hawthorne, as the easiest target
great club: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 PA
damage: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (2, 6) + 19 = 27
great club: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 Pa
damage: 2d8 + 19 ⇒ (4, 7) + 19 = 30
Hawthorne easily dodges the powerful but misaimed blows from the Matron
Stop moving ratling
In the room, Therbin has the attention of two giants. He is still under the table, and so gets cover
First giant
greatclub: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 PA
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (5, 5) + 16 = 26
great club: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (5, 1) + 16 = 22
Second giant
greatclub: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 PA
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (1, 8) + 16 = 25
great club: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (5, 5) + 16 = 26
Therbin used the table to his advantage, avoiding the savage blows.
The Party can now act

Vakmu Blackhorse |

Vakmu back off another 10 feet, leaving Rommin with a clear line of fire, and with a whispered prayer "Spirit of the Stars shine on me!" focuses his will on the matron again, trying to force her unconscious!
Move action -back down the hallway, out of Rommin's Line of Fire
Free action - whispered prayer
Standard Action: Slumber Hex on the Matron, Will DC 19

Therbin Warrack |

With the help of the table and his training against giants, Therbin is able to avoid the attacks. He cringes a few times as the powerful swings of the great clubs almost break the table. "Good thing that wasn't me," he thinks as he tries to finish off the first giant he attacked to even the odds.
PA Attack 1 on orange: 1d20 + 15 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 15 - 2 = 28
PA Damage (S) 1: 1d10 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 10 + 6 = 25
Seeing the first one drop, he grins at the other giant as he reverses direction of his swing and attack it with the other side of his axe.
PA Attack 2 on red: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 - 2 = 27
PA Damage (S) 1: 1d10 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 6 = 17

Rommin Hawkridge |
It looks like things have progressed some since I posted the withdraw, so I'll go ahead and keep that action the same and trust Brother Hawthorne to keep the matron from the squishiest of our team.
Rommin watches the matron as he sheathes his sword. He raises his bow and looses an arrow at her.
Prescience 1d20 ⇒ 12
Longbow to hit 1d20 + 9 - 2 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 9 - 2 - 2 + 1 = 14
Longbow damage 1d8 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 18
Edit: He'll substitute in that 12 for his to hit roll, giving him a 16 total, if that makes a difference.

Ungor the Dire |

presuming we combat chat / coordinate our round...if Vakmu's slumber hex goes off before my attacks, then just double the first damage as the coup de grace action
bite attack + BS/SJ (no power attack due to cover): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
bite damage + BS/SJ (no power attack due to cover): 4d6 + 7 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 4) + 7 = 19
claw1 attack + BS/SJ (no power attack due to cover): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
claw1 damage + BS/SJ (no power attack due to cover): 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (5, 4, 6) + 7 = 22
claw2 attack + BS/SJ (no power attack due to cover): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
claw2 damage + BS/SJ (no power attack due to cover): 3d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 5, 4) + 7 = 22
claw1 grapple: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20 oh well no grapple

Vakmu Blackhorse |

So no coup needed from me? I can coup while Ungor whoops someone else!
1) Matron gets a save, so there may be no coup 2) Ungor is squeezing if he gets into the corridor, so he's slowed down. Thus, 3) you could boogie through her squares ( using acrobatics if she's conscious ) and give Therbin a hand with red...or if the matron's conscious, could you get a flank with Ungor? Not sure if the door corner cover would interfere...

chillblame |

matron will save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
missed by one!
The Matron crumbles to the floor. Ungor the savagely attacks the matron and grapples the sleeping giant, waking her. but she is both prone and grappled.
Rommin's arrow misses, skittering up the corridor.
Therbin lashes out, ending one of his foes. With a backhand blow, his axe lashes at the last giant

agree. just double the first damage as a coup de grace with the fort save

Fenla Welci |

Feeling safe in the presence of the large hairy bear, Fenla waited for the fighting outside the door to end. She communicated with Twilight telling her to fly back and go down the hall in pursuit of the Giantess that fled through the yellow door.
Moved Twilight full round charge 2x movement.

chillblame |

If the matron was put to sleep, it was Ungor's intent to coup her, not just attack and grapple, I believe.
fair enough, I missed that. Not that I think it would matter, as being prone and vulnerable like that, her life expectancy is not high. :)
fort save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
The Matron expires.

Vakmu Blackhorse |

Giant red just acted - unless your planning on not acting , see Here, yours. Then Hawthorne, then Therbin.
On a tactical scale, I suspect that Hawthorne, Therbin, and Rommin between them should be able to put down giants 1 (red) and giant 4 (orange). We need to properly finish off #2, and IMO, pursue the giant who fled at speed, in attempt to contain the alarm she will raise... So I propose that we do not search the rooms here, but go directly to pursuit.

Ungor the Dire |

Fenla, twilight catches a view of the last juvenile giant fleeing towards the front door with Wilrin and his spider in hot pursuit. That is the last you see of the weren't gnome as he chases the giant out into the night, and likely gets distracted. And so departs our tale.
I was tracking that the 1 that got away really just got chased by Wilrin off screen to its demise. So no need to chase it?

That is the assumption I am currently making. The one I would like to pursue immediately is giantess blue, the one the Matron beat on :
...
The Matron still affected by the Murderous impulse spell continues to attack giantess blue who, badly hurt, flees north through the yellow door and out of sight.
...

Therbin Warrack |

I finished off orange last round.
Therbin smiles at the giant as he attacks again. "You should be careful what you ask for," he says as he chops into the giant's legs on both his forehand and backhand attacks.
PA Attack 1 on red: 1d20 + 15 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 15 - 2 = 31
PA Damage (S) 1: 1d10 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 6 = 21
PA Attack 2 on red: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 10 - 2 = 24
PA Damage (S) 1: 1d10 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 6 = 22

Ungor the Dire |

Right then! It will take me 2 rounds of double moves squeezing through the hallway through the yellow door. I have 40’ single move. Let’s go get em. Who’s up in init, players?

Fenla Welci |

Yes I had moved my familiar on that turn (or this turn), just sitting tight for now.

Brother Hawthorne |

Having received his instructions, Brother Hawthorne moves up the corridor, into the room, and right up to the remaining giant (who probably gets an AOO).
I do have a 28 AC against him though, and I believe I have that image up.
Next!

Vakmu Blackhorse |

Vakmu speaks as he hustles his own butt "We need to catch the ones that ran away. Wilrin has the one who went that away," he points off to the left, "we need to get the one up ahead...before they spread an alarm. ".
Full Round Action, Double Move
Looking sideways into the "kitchen" (I think), he sees Therbin and the carnage he has wrought... "You fight giants too do you. Nice work. Come with us an we'll find lots of work for you to do..."

Ungor the Dire |

Full Round Action, Double Move squeezing
"I'll move as fast as I can but these damn giant hallways aren't really that giant. They couldn't splurge for oversized passage ways to accommodate a rampaging giant bear? .... make way. giant bear coming through."
technically I'm squeezing but in this square only 1 of my 9 squares are occupied by a wall...so I think there is plenty of room for my smaller companions in my squares

Ungor the Dire |

yeah if swing at the halfling again, this time he won't have mobility ;)

Ungor the Dire |

With friends like you...
who is spreading that rumor? that we are friends? ;)

Fenla Welci |

Fenla moves behind her companions trying to see past the bear occupying most of the hallway. [b]"Who is everyone talking too?"[/b} she wondered.
Twilight zipped past everyone down the hallway. Twilight double move 80'

chillblame |

Murder halfling!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just joking. The giant focuses on the dwarf
greatclub: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (6, 7) + 16 = 29
greatclub: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (2, 8) + 16 = 26
I'm going to assume that vakmu's spell does not cover Therbin
Therbin is struck hard by the giant.
The party can act

Vakmu Blackhorse |

No, Vakmu's spell would not cover Therbin - no necklace. Someone remind me to fix that at the first opportunity.
Given that I've already made Brother Hawthorne unhappy with me, I guess I have to be nasty to Therbin too; Chill missed that the giant rolled a nat 20, and thus a critical threat... In the interests of moving things along:
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Potential Crit Damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (1, 6) + 16 = 23
Vakmu calls encouragement to Brother Hawthorne and Therbin: "You've got her flanked, put the B*tch down."
If Brother H and Therbin do the honors for this giant, we have a tactical question : chase the one that got away or pause to heal. What does everyone think?
Also, as a quick review, am I right when I say that Therbin and Brother H are the only ones currently hurt?

Ungor the Dire |

Ungor is uninjured but that Therbin damage would have nearly taken me out in 1 round. yes I would say the healers need to heal him (and the halfling if he's bleeding), but for good or worse, I think Ungor needs to get into the room pursuing a fleeing giant or we call this the end of the raid/fight our way back out.

Brother Hawthorne |

Brother Hawthorne will attack the giant twice...
MW Sap Sneak Hit: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 = 22
MW Sap Sneak Damage: 1d4 + 6 + 4 + 4d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 4 + (1, 3, 1, 3) = 21 Nonlethal
MW Sap Sneak Hit: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 2 = 33
MW Sap Sneak Damage: 1d4 + 6 + 4 + 4d6 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 4 + (6, 1, 1, 2) = 22 Nonlethal

Vakmu Blackhorse |

Hawthorn did you include your flanking with Therbin in your to Hit #'s? I don't think you did...( I am trying to guess if red goes down here.)

Rommin Hawkridge |
Rommin watches the hit that Therbin takes and raises his bow. He hesitates a moment when he sees that the dwarf is still alive! He puts an arrow into the stubborn giant.
Longbow to hit 1d20 + 9 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 30 deadly aim, pbs, favored enemy
Damage 1d8 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 4 + 1 + 2 = 16
Edit: Possible crit.
Confirm 1d20 + 9 - 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 9 - 2 + 1 + 2 = 24
Bonus damage 2d8 + 6 + 8 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 + 8 + 2 + 4 = 23

Vakmu Blackhorse |

Rommin settles the matter... Ungor, I think you should press ahead to the yellow doorway, but we do need to have a discussion about your idea of breaking back out. I'm going to move to the discussion thread, so it's not all over the gameplay.
