I only find things that point to what you are saying, that attacking out of smoke concealment into a non concealed square does not need the flat check.
In this case, it is not a problem, since the wolf is blind, so does not care about smoke or other such things.
Just trying to figure out PF2 rules.

I've been looking further at the Tower Shield and discovered a little something:
It allows you to Take Cover as a single action (assuming you raised your shield), but it's not like PF1 where you have "hard cover" in one direction-- you just have Cover in, presumably, all directions.
A distinction that's good to know!

Hey @GM, 34 damage in one round done by 1 monster, damn! It is good that it happened to me. As some of our PC's would go down on that.
This amount of damage made me review my defense mechanisms and it turned out that I miscalculated my AC it should be 19 and not 18. (I wrote down wrong value for my armor breastplate which has +4 to AC).
Let us leave this round as it were but for future attacks please use the higher value of my AC ;)
Hoping to survive the 2nd fight with this PC

No inconvenience at all.
I would have retconned bit ac19 does not change, it is still a crit’, so nothing to change, but would have.

Hi all!
I will update this afternoon from my computer (at a Film Fest in Berlin: rain, grey skies, würst and curry... oh joy!).
• Sitril you actually get the acid damage at the end of the round, then roll to see if it persists (after getting the damage). So you will have 1 dan’ next round, then roll again...
• I am on my phone so cannot check much now. But you showed your basic rage stuff. What barbarian choice did you make (Not sure of the names: Spirit, Nature etc.)? That gives you a bonus to damage (or did you take the « neutral » one that gives the extra feat?).
Farol |
Yeah, I took Fury, the rest of the specs I didn't really feel like RP'ing. Anger management issues I can at least attempt to ;)
With regards to persistent damage, the delay says:
https://2e.aonprd.com/Actions.aspx?ID=77
'When you Delay, any persistent damage or other negative effects that normally occur at the start or end of your turn occur immediately when you use the Delay action. Any beneficial effects that would end at any point during your turn also end. The GM might determine that other effects end when you Delay as well. Essentially, you can’t Delay to avoid negative consequences that would happen on your turn or to extend beneficial effects that would end on your turn.'
So I assumed that by delaying I first get the acid damage and then gain temporary HP.
GM Wayfinder |
Okay! Was not sure re. Barb'.
Yes, I'd say you get it to your HP since you got the temp' ones when you took your delay.
GM Wayfinder |
I'm off to a some social stuff (cocktail, then dinner) won't be answering the suspense filled posts for a few hours (in 5 hours or so).
Roll high!
GM Wayfinder |
Hi all.
Just landed back in Paris bit must go straight from airport to a thing.
Must wait till late tonight or early tomorrow to post... what will the dice have in stock: a pair of misses, a duo of crits?!
GM Wayfinder |
You spend 10 minutes treating one injured living creature (targeting yourself, if you so choose). The target is then temporarily immune to Treat Wounds actions for 1 hour, but this interval overlaps with the time you spent treating (so a patient can be treated once per hour, not once per 70 minutes).
So 10 minutes plus 50 minute immunity.
GM Wayfinder |
There's a Feat that drops the time.
My feeling is that in PFS, if you go RAW, it drops the time so much you can re-heal as soon as you finish.
Since 1 hour becomes only 10 minutes, and the hour of immunity started when you started healing, not at the end (thus the 10 minutes + 50). So, 1 hour reduced to 10, seems, in RAW, as no immunity more than the 10 minutes itself.
I imagine RAI is different?
Anyhow, I only took this w. a character since Godless Healing was not legal yet.
GM Wayfinder |
BTW: when you crit' vs. a blind wolf, you pop a bunch of pustules, and the wound causes gore to spray. The triggering creature takes 3d6 acid damage (DC 19 basic Reflex save).
Fun times!
GM Wayfinder |
XP time!
2 Mutant Wolves: 120 XP
+
XP Award: Discovering the polluted pool is an important step toward uncovering what is going on in the forest; award the party 30 XP for its discovery.
BRAVO!
Total for now: 1440 XP

I need to be expert in medicine, but yes, that's a very good feat to have!
Yes, I like Rogues (have two) because you raise skills to expert, and get skill feats (now I'm taking Godless Healing before Continual Recovery, but the 2nd one can be nice when in scenarios with timers (and there are several like that).
See? I knew there was a reason I didn't crit one!
I was really afraid Sitril would crit, and then be dropped by the spray!
I don't think these wolves are on AoN:
MUTANT WOLVES (2) CREATURE 3
Perception +9; motion sense (precise) 30 feet Skills Acrobatics +9, Athletics +11, Stealth +9 Str +4, Dex +4, Con +2, Int –4, Wis +2, Cha –2 AC 19; Fort +9, Ref +11, Will +7
HP 45; Immunities acid, visual effects
Speed 35 feet
Melee [one-action] jaws +11, Damage 1d8+4 piercing plus 1d6 acid GoreSpray[reaction] (acid); Trigger A creature critically hits a mutant wolf while adjacent to it. Effect The wound causes gore to spray from a ruptured pustule. The triggering creature takes 3d6 acid damage (DC 19 basic Reflex save). This occurs even if the attack kills the wolf.
Tear [one-action] Trigger The wolf dealt damage to a creature with its jaws during the previous action. Effect The wolf tears at the creature’s flesh, dealing 1d6+2 slashing damage and 1 persistent acid damage.
The fact they hit @+11 and then can add damage + persistent for "free" w. their next action is pretty rough...

Having completed The Blighted Den, you are now doing Noala's Next Move, and shall be setting off for The Pen.
GM Wayfinder |
After the Journey to the Pen you are now facing the Forest Guardians.
The gas has the poison trait.

Because these cool fights are at least challenging and get the adrenaline pumping!
Thus, when you win, you feel even more victorious )))

Natsume picks the limp Tamerius up--
--Tamerius whose eyes open when he is Soothed by Giggett...
Is it me or Tamerius and Natsume are having a moment?
If only I was the DM...
Sitril Anvilbrand |
Would it make sense for giggett to use medicine to treat poison? That can give tam and Nat bonuses to their rolls. I can probably grab tamerius and try to immobilize him.
Also Elixir of life made by Dragh have +1 to Fortitude
GM Wayfinder |
From the CRB ---> Manacles: You can manacle someone who is willing or otherwise at your mercy as an exploration activity taking 10–30 seconds depending on the creature’s size and how many manacles you apply.
It is normally not used as an in Encounter move, but as an in Exploration activity.
(manacles in PF are most probably the old medieval ones, where you have to screw things closed, not handcuffs that "auto-close").
So, I can let you use it here, exceptionally, but since the minimum is 10 seconds, that is 2 actions.
Then--
Giggett takes her manacles,
--where are the manacles?
If the manacles are in her backpack that is 2 actions. Thus:
1 or 2 actions to get the manacles
1 move
2 actions to put them on
(if you want, you can do that it in 2 different rounds: 1 action to put them on one hand-- and then another action later to finish on the other hand).
GM Wayfinder |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Okay, I am taking it upon myself to speed things up a bit for next rounds, hoping it'll be all right with you--
--and got good rolls in doing so, thus I'll let you RP-narrate what you do as Tamerius "wakes up" and feels clear headed as Giggett tries to put the cuffs on... and Natsume tries to maintain her restraint?
While Sitril watches this scuffle in the grass.
Then the gas dissipates as you get up and gather your equipment and wits.
What now?
(Sitril - sorry, forgot to count your temp rage HP, you had 4 before the fight, so 5 of the 10 you just got were on the temp' = 9 damage (out of your 40)).
XP: 140 xp for these 7 x CR 0 things for a total of 1580 xp.
GM Wayfinder |
(Tamerius, you noted your Hero Point from before, right?)
I gave one Hero Point to Natsume now, for the nat' 20 on last roll to tackle Tamerius.
