Will be interesting to see who gets selected. We could end up with two witches.

Or 2 fighters named Anton, lol

Okay, sorry that took so long... backstory is finished. With that, I think Livia is complete?

Livia Taviskin
Female Chaotic Good Human (Varisian & Chelish ancestry) Cleric
Level 1, Init 1, HP 10/10, Speed 30
AC 15, Touch 11, Flat-footed 14, CMD 12, Fort +4, Ref +2, Will +5, CMB +2, Base Attack Bonus 0
Glaive +2 (1d10+3, x3, Reach)
Chain Shirt (+4 Armor, +1 Dex)
Abilities Str 14, Dex 12, Con 13, Int 12, Wis 15, Cha 14
Feats Extra Channeling, Selective Channeling
Skills Diplomacy +6, Heal +9, Perform (Singing) +7, Spellcraft +4

Appearance:
Livia is slightly taller than the average Varisian woman. She possesses shoulder length raven black hair, deep blue eyes and fairly pale skin, a sign of her Chelish ancestry. She is quite lovely, and carries herself with a quiet dignity and grace that is common among many of Shelyn's followers.

Livia typically wears light and airy clothing, the kind found commonly among Varisians. Most often she favors a bright sky blue blouse, simple form fitting leather pants and an elaborate scarf. In colder weather, she has a warm fur fringed cloak.

Physical Traits
Height: 5'8
Weight: 125 lbs
Hair: Raven
Eyes: Blue

Appearance

Personality:
Livia is an extroverted personality, and a person who speaks freely and easily with all manner of folks. She loves to entertain and singing, and seems to draw great energy from the praise and cheer of the crowds. While singing is her passion, it is also her calling in the worship of Shelyn.

Like many Varisians, Livia is passionate and more than a little hot blooded. She sometimes loses her temper, though she possesses more wisdom than most folks her age, and knows when to step back from an argument or a bad situation.

While outwardly Livia appears very confident in herself, inwardly she does harbor some self doubt and insecurity.

Background:
Livia was originally born in the city of Magnimar, and grew up in the city living something of a double life. Her father was a well known opera singer by the name of Gaius Alba, a man of chelish decent and someone of some means. Her mother was a varisian gypsy of some beauty and fame, known also for her rare talent in singing. Her parents were something of star-crossed lovers, from two different worlds and social classes, but sharing a love of music that brought them together in the unlikeliest of ways. The union was something of scandal, but one that was generally forgiven given the great talent both her parents possessed.

Livia grew up as their only child, and quickly adopted her parents love of singing. From an early age, she sang with various children’s choirs, and began to make a name for herself. It was during one such concert that tragic accident nearly taking her life, as an overhead beam came down on top of Livia as she auditioned for a role. Strangely, the beam came crashing down all around her, but miraculously left Livia unscathed. Soon thereafter, Livia a beautiful dove with a rainbow colored tail visited Livia in her sleep, and told her that she had been spared, and to turn her gift towards the faith of Shelyn.

From that point on, Livia dedicated her life to the worship of Shelyn, though it brought some sadness to her parents to see their daughter take on a more monastic way of life. Livia trained at the temple of Shelyn in Magnimar, but kept her vocal training in respect of both of Shelyn and her parents. For the past several years, Livia has spent some time travelling, and brining her talent to outside the borders of Magnimar. Such travels have brought her to Sandpoint, where she eagerly awaits to see the unveiling of the new temple there, and sing at the dedication ceremony.

@M'ara: Aren't you missing a skill rank? You still have 79 Gold Coins, right? Don't forget to change her story, we start at Magnimar, and proceed to Sandpoint on foot. Shivi has 3 HP, AC 16/15/13. Will ST +4. Int 6.

@Anton Chauvelle: By the way, the rapier makes 1d6 damage. And you have a short bow, but no arrows :P

@Anton Ionescu: The offhand damage has only half your STR bonus, so is +1 instead of +3

@Delin Chiri: The "Without a past" trait is not valid. Can you change it? As Varisian is your Mother's language, you can get another one. You also know the level 0 spell arcane mark. I think you should have a Spell Component Pouch. Please don't give me details, but she is carrying a Shaving Kit?

@Giant Halfling: Lief looks great. Just take into account he is medium encumbered, and that (and the armor) affects the skills. He is ready for consideration.

@Livia Taviskin: Looking good. As you have Varisian as mother's language, you can pick another one. Other than that, she looks great. Remember, we start on the travel from Magnimar to Sandpoint. She is ready for consideration.

Appearance:

Lythe for a dwarf Dolgrin Is bald, bearded, and hard as a rock.

Personality:

Dolgrin is a Merry monk. He mostly likes to get drunk make jokes.

Character Backstory:

Dolgrin was born to a family of Dwarven Brewers who were exiled from the main family branch of the family, over wether to have two or three mushrooms in the family brew. They fled to a small dwarven settlement at the foot of the a The Fogscar Mountains, just above Sandpoint. Upon reaching this settlement they set up,a brewery of their own. Out from under the families thumb Dogrins father experimented wildly and openly boasting to all of his new brew and how three mushrooms is better than two.

One day members from the main branch ordered Dolgrind to stop sharing Dwarven brewing secrets. So angered and distraught was he that the letter he sent back written in his own blood only said “Three Mushrooms is better than Two.” It was not long until a similar opinion of Dolgrinds transgression appeared in the village. However ever being the stubborn Dwarves that they are Dolgrins parents persisted. This led to no small amount of bullying from the other local Dwarf children. As a result Dolgrin learned to adapt to dangerous situations quickly and fight with his fists. Learning the family trade Dolgrin excelled at his brewing. By the age of 30 he new and could brew every beer in the family catalog. Unfortunately by this time he had also been in first fights with almost half the male adolescent population. This earned him a bad reputation, only counter balanced by his skill and generosity in regards to libations.

It was assumed that one day Dolgrin would inherit the brewery and everything was going according to plan until Dolgrin’s 33 birthday when the village was attack and overrun by a horde of goblins. The brewery burn along with the village and everyone he knew was slaughtered to a man. The only reason Dolgrin himself did not die is because he went to look for exotic mushrooms for a new brew, got too drunk and passed out. When he awoke he smelled the smoke and saw the fire but heard no screams. Even as he ran toward his home he realized what the silence meant.

Bereft of his home, village, and future he set off. Wandering from village to village the last he came upon was Sandpoint. After wandering into the Red Dragon getting a few drink and spewing his misfortunes to Ameiko, he decided to seek out the main family branch. Setting off on his journey he joined the first Caravan heading is direction as a guard. When he finally reached the home of his fathers father he was met with a cold reception. It was not long until he was brought to the great hall, before the head of the clan. Upon noticing the three mushrooms pin on Dolgrins shirt he was given the ultimatum that he rejoin the clan if he discarded his father pin and swore that two mushrooms are better than three. Outright refusing Dolgrin was hence forth officially banished.

Setting out, he soon came upon a monastery. Joining the monastery as a cook Dolgrin study the martial arts with an intensity and fervor that delighted the masters. He soon became a favorite of the masters, and remained so until his drink became apparent. After being in the monastery for a decade Dolgrin was due to move up in rank. The masters noting his drinking told he could move up if he stopped drinking. To this he appeared to reluctantly agree while on he sly he set up a brewery in the woods outside of the monastery. Dolgrin succeeded in this deception for seven years before it got him ousted from the monastery.

Thus Dolgrin begins his wanderings again.

Lief has no armor check penalty from studded leather because of his armor expert trait. He was at light encumbrance with the masterwork backpack when I first did his gear but then I made some adjustments and forgot to recalculate... I’ll redo my math and then decide whether to switch back to his original gear or just plan to take off the backpack whenever scouting or in combat. Thanks.

Ok, skills updated to mirror what herolab tells me. Let me know if you still see an inconsistency.

I'll make a couple additions to gear I think.

Story changed.

I got Shivi's stats right from the SRD : Hawk Do you want me to use those stats and sub in the ones you've given me?

Thanks

@LetcherMan69: Welcome. Please check the submission guidelines and change your character accordingly.

@Giant Halfling: Fair enough.

@M'ara: Familiars get some bonuses. Shivi is quite a smart bird, you know? I'll check the rest later.

@ JohnnyBlack - Last time I looked at rapier stats, it was in 5e. Whoops. Fixed both of those for you.

Without a Past is what gives me linguistics as a class skill. Before I pick another, can you please tell me what criteria you are using for traits? I don't want to pick another invalid one.

Rather than a spell component pouch her Dilettante’s outfit is where I was planning to have her stash them. I can buy the component pouch as well.

Not sure about arcane mark, I just copy/pasted the list of cantrips from the sourcebook pdf for Witches.

I was sparing a description of her clothing and appearance for if selected, but her outfit shows some leg. Figured she would need a shaving kit.

edit: Looking at traits there are two different gnome traits that give linguistics as a class skill. Etymologist (Gnome) would give her the same bonus and class proficiency as well as another bonus language.

2nd edit: Through use of the adopted trait.

edit the third: Okay so apparently half elves can't even grow facial hair according to one of the creative developers. Huh. Saves me some effort. In that case I have other plans for the shaving kit. Don't make her angry.

@Anton Chauvelle: Thanks.

@Delin Chiri: No problem about the shaving kit, just wondering... About the traits, is like with everything else, valid sources are Core, Advanced Player's Guide and Rise of the Runelords Player's guide.

Alright... so, adjusting my gear had a bigger impact on weight than I had realized. I also completely forgot that in RAW Pathfinder the clothes you're wearing count towards encumbrance (in 3.X the one outfit you wore was effectively weightless and my home groups have always house-ruled that way in Pathfinder). Because of that, I'm going to switch back to the first set of gear I looked at and delay a few purchases (until I have saddlebags to stow some stuff in).

Here is my revised starting equipment.

So I spent some time looking for core traits and all I found was a traits web enhancement. Nothing for advanced. Picked up one that kind of fit. Added Gnome as a known language. She is less focused on exotic languages and more about practical ones for the region.

Should be good to go.

Giant, if you're having weight issues you can always drop things when a situation goes south. Weight penalties aren't too severe.

@Delin- there is no trait within our acceptable sources that gives linguistics as a class skill. Remember though, you can still put ranks in it (and gain the same number of languages known) you just won't get the +3 class skill bonus when you make checks to decipher unknown languages. If you want to look through the available traits, this link should take you to the right page and then you can click the "traits" link right above "Combat Maneuvers" or you can scroll to the bottom. The only traits available besides these ones are the ones from the Rise of the Runelords player's guide (which you can download for free through the store part of this website). Also, thanks- I have my backpack weight calculated separately so I can drop it if need be but with the weight of the clothes and revised gear I was pretty close to medium even without it.

@Giant Halfling: That is why my characters tend to go buck naked under the armor :P Thanks for the help with Delin.

@Delin: You are still in time to change the trait if you want. Ready to go!

Luke now lives near Magnimar and he worships Gorum.

@Luke Redwood: Excellent, thanks. Luke is on the running.

I changed the trait.

Character Idea:

A Drunken Dwarven monk. Caught in the middle between his jolly Drunken ways and the strict discipline usually required by monks. While most monks in this region can be found escorting others of their faith, Dolgrin worships Cayden Cailean unlike most monks.

Motivations:

After the harsh and devastating encounter with his kin Dolgrin wandered along the Yondabakari until he reached Magnimar. Having reached Magnimar, Dolgrin went to the most dwarven bar where he learned of the burning of the a cathedral and was immediately brought back to the night his village burned. That night he went out and signed up as a guard on a caravan headed towards Sandpoint.

Updated Etna's data,

Still working on an Updated 3D Render....

Updated Etna's Render(s)

It took longer then I wanted due to a program crash that wiped out a few hours work....

I think everything should be set to go in this alias... I'll double check it when I have a little more time. Almost everything is exactly as written in the submission post above except that I've integrated the change to his equipment (which brings him back within light encumbrance).

No pressure, but do you (GM) have any idea when you might make/announce a decision?

Maybe it's a stroke of Midnight announcement?

I just want to give some more time for anyone to finish his character. I would say tomorrow, and then a warm-up free roleplay until the 1st, when our adventure, and the voyage to Sandpoint, will begin.

I think this will be the last "update" about the submissions.

There is still some time for late submissions. In any case, tomorrow I'll let you know what adventurers start the voyage to Sandpoint and their destiny.

Good luck everyone!

First of all, thank you for submitting your characters for the adventure, and I am deeply sorry if your character didn't get selected. If I think I could have a good game with all of the submitted characters, I would accept them all without a doubt.

The following characters are selected, and I hope we can get a great game. Please post in the discussion thread to start.

- Anton Chauvelle
- Anton Ionescu
- Delin Chiri
- Etna Venus Van Ash
- Lief Stoutspear
- Livia Taviskin
- M'ara
- The Magician, Zomeraand

To the rest, sorry I couldn't select your character, and I really hope we can game together some other time.

I feel like this party could star in a double mint commercial. We're doubling up the fun! :3

Doubles in multiple suits are mighty portents, signalling boon companions and deeds both mighty and mundane!

Thanks for choosing me, JB...and Gratz to the others as well.

Good luck next time for those not chosen.

Lol:
2 fighters named Anton...
2 witches...
A wizard and a sorceress...
I guess that makes Lief and Livia the last pair?

Thanks for the pick and good luck next time to those who weren’t selected!
