Excellent, excellent! I will probably begin the review process in a day or two for those who have already finished and give everyone else maybe a week to finish everything up out of fairness. This way I can be more efficient with everyone's time and not end up repeating the mistake I made with my Coliseum Morpheuon game's review process. For context, I waited until everyone was finished before starting reviews, which lengthened the recruitment by about a week or so longer than it probably needed to be. I don't want to make that mistake again, which is why I will be tackling those initial reviews soon.
Sounds like an excellent plan to me. My character's mechanics are easy to complete, but I need to review the setting a bit more to lock down the flavour, so having the extra week/till the weekend is good to have!
Arcantos Asari
And here we go. One Character Sheet with all the completed mechanics! And, heh, finishing off the mechanics took a bit longer than anticipated. So, I'll be glad to get started on their flavour tomorrow and over the weekend.
Also, gotta figure out what to do with my Gold, as I really have no idea what to do with such a small amount of gold... and I really don't think Arc would have enchanted armour. He's not exactly a big fighter? So, yeah. Need to figure out what to do there...
Gearmaster of the Turning Age
@Arcantos: If you're REALLY hard-up for something to spend gold on and still ruminating on armor, there's an armor enchantment from 3.5 called Clothborn that basically removes all the penalties and makes it clothing. Can't really remember what it cost though, just that it was a great enchantment that I'd be willing to allow. I think it came from one of the Scarred Lands books since Baron Mirth from the Blood Bayou wore a set of clothborn fullplate.

That’s awesome.
The closest I could see in Pathfinder was a combo I gave a character at lvl 15.
Plate Armor (-6 ACP)
Mithral (-3 ACP, half weight)
Steelbone Frame (6k gold, -1 ACP)
Comfort (5k gold, Armor of comfort sheds dirt and sweat as they accumulate, and remains as comfortable as weather-appropriate clothing regardless of environmental conditions.
A suit of armor with this enhancement always looks immaculately clean, can be slept in as though it were light armor, and does not cause a penalty to the wearer’s saving throws to resist the effects of extreme heat. In cold weather, it counts as cold-weather clothing. In addition, the armor’s armor check penalty is reduced by 1, -0 ACP)
Glamered (2.7k gold Upon command, a suit of glamered armor changes shape and appearance to assume the form of a normal set of clothing. The armor retains all its properties (including weight) when it is so disguised. Only a true seeing spell or similar magic reveals the true nature of the armor when it is disguised.)
Put together? -0 ACP, +9 AC, +4 max dex, always clean, can sleep in it, can change appearance to look like clothes)
The issue is that it’s just so very, very expensive. If Glamered and Comfort could be combined to just make it clothing? Instant purchase.
Gearmaster of the Turning Age
@Grumbaki: Oh yes, it was an awesome enchantment for sure! I know it was used a LOT in power-gaming threads back in the 3.5 era as a way to optimize casters and dexterity-focused characters. No surprise there really, considering that it allowed casters to finally benefit from armor without cost and allowed dex characters to finally have a decent touch AC courtesy of being allowed to realistically wear something above leather/studded leather. I am pretty impressed you decided to try and emulate it with Pathfinder-only enchantments, materials, and modifications.
eriktd
Also, for characters with Unarmored Training looking for armor that isn't armor, there's leather armor made from stable shadowstuff, which may be slightly cheaper than clothborn. And, unlike clothborn or leatherborn plate armor, you don't have to have heavy armor proficiency to wear it! (Though granted, there's no penalty for wearing armor without proficiency if the ACP is 0.)
I wonder if a steamsuit (see the Steamsuit Pilot PrC) can be enchanted with clothborn? Might make it more useful for Dex-heavy Technologists if so. :)
Grumbaki
@Gearmaster:
:)
@eriktd
A fun build could be that with this:
“Force Redirection Technique [Youxia HB]
Prerequisite: Equipment sphere.
You may use your Strength modifier in place of your Dexterity modifier to AC, up to a maximum of 3 + half of your base attack bonus. Characters who gain Climb or Swim as a class skill may instead choose to have the cap increase by +1 for every 2 ranks in the listed class skill they possess. Your bonus to AC is still affected by anything that would limit or remove your Dexterity modifier to AC such as wearing armor or being flat-footed. You may disable or enable Force Redirection Technique as a free action at the start of your turn, once per turn.”
I believe that the steam armor can add to strength. That would make a very thematic build.
eriktd
@eriktd
I believe that the steam armor can add to strength. That would make a very thematic build.
I agree! Also the Muscle Reflexes feat, to get Str-based attacks of opportunity. The problem is that both Technologist characters submitted so far are primarily Dex-based gun- or finesse weapon-wielders, so boosted Strength really does nothing for them. Wearing the steamsuit also limits their max Dex to +0, so it feels like it is somewhat suboptimal, even with an ACP of 0! (Neither of them are wearing it, it looks like.)
Grumbaki
Just thinking out loud…
“Improved Joints
The armor’s maximum Dexterity bonus is increased by 1, and the armor’s armor check penalty is reduced by 1. This improvement may be taken multiple times, increasing these bonuses by the number of times this improvement is taken.
Note: If the technician possesses mechanical insight, this improvement increases the armor’s maximum Dexterity bonus and decreases the armor’s armor check penalty by 2 instead of 1.”
“Nimble
Price +1,000 gp; Weight +5 lbs.
DESCRIPTION
Nimble armor is designed for flexibility and ease of use, although this compromises its protective qualities. Nimble armor’s maximum Dexterity bonus is increased by 2, and its armor check penalty is reduced by 1 (minimum 0).
DRAWBACK
Nimble armor’s armor bonus is reduced by 1.”
Make it mithral as well. So +0 Max Dex becomes +6. Improved joints can be taken multiple times, so the max Dex can go as high as needed.

That, huh. I didn't know that existed. That's, actually incredibly powerful, isn't it? The AC bonus wouldn't stack by itself, but it would be a powerful way for a Monk or similar to get extra AC, and even if it doesn't give you any further AC bonus, you can still use it to get armour enhancementslike Fortification, can't you? Though honestly, 3.5 has far superior armour enhancements. Soulfire is damn strong.
And I admit, I couldn't find how much Clothborn actually costs.

She was crouching behind a wall, as spells and shells flow past, She looked at the constable next to her.
"You do know I am not a fighter right, I'm more your desculation type of officer."
The constable stood and fired off a shot then decked back down again.
"Well that was the plan, then the second gang boss showed up and all hell broke loose. They seem to be fighting us and each other"
She snuck a peek around the wall. Yes he was right, the docs ware house now seemed to have a group of gang members behind bales, shooting at a group up on a higher deck. While both shot there way. She ducked back into safty. And took out Shotgun and checked it, then fired a shot around the wall, more for effect than use.
"Is it always like this down here?"
The custible nodded firing his own gun.
"More or less"
She steelled herself this was no way for a lady to make a living, but someone had to do it. Standing back up she fired once more.

Of course the cost of stable shadowstuff makes it infeasible for me at the moment.
I think Clothborn was a 3pp enchantment.
Arcantos Asari
Okay, a day later than I had hoped. But Arcantos' backstory is now complete! It can be found on his profile, on his sheet under 'Notes', and I'll drop it down here as well:
There are not many slaves left in Ber, not after Vairday Bruse took the throne and created the Executores dola Liberta. Few does not mean none, however, and Arcantos was born to a pleasure slave of a distant household far from the main cities of Ber. Not so distant that they would be considered in another country, but enough that it was hard for a new government to express their influence here, especially when the master of the house had no desire to give up his most prized slaves. Releasing most of their slaves, yet keeping a precious view, including Arcantos’ mother, Aimizu, hidden, was an easy choice to make.
With his mother being a favoured slave, yet shockingly not forced to abort Arcantos, the young Kitsune did not get to spend much time with his mother, given to an old nursemaid to look after him when necessary, and then quickly abandoned to a life of solitude and utter boredom when a nursemaid was no longer needed. Wielding the Kitsune’s natural magic, Arcantos swiftly turned to the world of imagination to keep himself occupied and entertained. Sharpening his magical illusions through trial, error and instinct, until he could craft a companion or two to play with. With a small black dragoness, inspired by the few stories and songs that his mother had shared with him, became his favourite companion. Named ‘Cynder’, she was his primary companion during these years. Aimizu did her best to be there for Arcantos, singing to him and teaching him what she could about their magic, but a life as a slave was one with little free time.
At the age of four, it was noted that Arcantos had inherited his mother’s singing voice, and so his previously lonely life was quickly filled with strict lessons to ensure that he could be a proper singer and entertainer for the house master. This proved to be their undoing, however, as one of the hired tutors was displeased by the slavery of the house. They tipped off the Executors to this deception. So before Arcantos reached five years of age, he witnessed the master of the house - a shadowy tyrant who had controlled his and his mother’s actions with an iron fist - was dragged out of their home and beaten within an inch of their life by powerful women. It was a moment that was ingrained in Arcantos’ young mind. After a childhood of oppressive rules, Arcantos realised that law and rules can be used for freedom and justice as much as oppression and greed.
The mountain city of Ursaliña became his and Aimizu’s new home, allowing them to slowly become a proper family, with Aimizu’s music finding a steady income, and Arcantos? Arcantos was a smart young lad, and Aimizu could only do so much alone. Hence, she enrolled Arcantos in one of the new schools of the Panoply, allowing Arcantos to receive a stronger education than he would have done otherwise. And Arcantos, whilst no genius, flourished in the schools, learning much in terms of academics, science and magic. Not only did he deepen his magical capabilities, Arcantos also explored other schools of magic. Until he could finally turn Cynder from an illusory companion whom he shared with few, to a real companion of flesh and blood. She did not have the same memories Arcantos did, yet this new Cynder became a firm friend and companion of Arcantos for over a decade.
Aimizu eventually became employed by one of Ber’s newer nobles, and during one of their parties, Arcantos first encountered the technological wonders of Flint, and Arcantos was fascinated by these wonders and constructions. At 15 years of age, Arcantos was considered an adult in the eyes of the law, and after holding a lengthy discussion with some of the artists and inventors from Flint, Arcantos found himself yearning to see more of this city. A place where technology and artistry stand side by side, evolving and growing in fascinating and awe-inspiring ways. A few more discussions later, Arcantos was heading to Flint, eager to learn more of this fascinating place.
Falling in with the infamous Dockers of Flint, Arcantos spent some time employed in Heward Sechim's Alkahest Factory, until his sharp mind, quick learning, and mix of aritstry and magic managed to find him a less-polluted place to work. From there, Arcantos began to make a name for himself, combining his technological knowledge, illusionary abilities and gifted tongue to put on spectacular shows and concerts. His multi-lingual abilities helped him learning songs from several difficult cultures to help further his repertoire. But what quickly caught the eyes of the police was that, unlike many of the Dockers, the workers, engineers and artists of Flint’s docks, Arcantos was often someone who desescalated confrontations and situations, rather than causing them more of a headache. His memories of the Executores dola Liberta shining bright even now, and Arcantos understood that many of the police had good intentions, even if there were still tensions between the workers and the law.
Having a draconic companion that would viciously defend Arcantos and spit acid on those who tried to cause too much trouble likely helped further. As did Arcantos' impressive control of his magical abilities, allowing him to safely disable and knock out others without the danger of killing them.
Still, it wasn’t until Arcantos ended up in a devastating mix-up with Kell’s Boys that put Arcantos in the hospital for weeks that Arcantos was formally approached and recruited into the R.H.C. Arcantos still tinkers and performs alongside other Dockers, but now he works alongside the Risur Homeland Constabulary to help keep the nation, and especially the city of Flint, safe from those who would do it harm. In particular, Arcantos hopes to one day finally, finally bring Kell’s Boys down.

I think Captain Aetherlock is more or less finished. I'm not sure what to spend the gold on; between ABP, Armorist, Gizmos, and his combat power coming from his Mechanoid, he doesn't need much gear. I think I'll spend some of his gold on the Downtime building rules to represent his engineering firm, and it could, I think, handle some crafting if we needs that.

@Crisischild: I think I see a small error regarding gestalt rules.
You have 5 levels of a gestalt (Armorist | Conscript) class which is a low Caster, so you have no "non-caster" level, and Advanced Magic Training does nothing for you.
So you have CL 2 from Armorist, MSB 5, MSD 16 and I think your Concentration is wrong but I didn't check all the bonuses you may have from various sources. Your base concentration is CL + Int = +7
Also note that Brutal Strike and Spell Attack are both special attack actions, so you can't use both at the same time.
Fury of the Tempest
@Saashaa: how familiar are you with Spheres? The casting stat is chosen as part of your casting tradition, it can be Int, Wis or Cha as you wish.
There is an option for Constituion as well, though you need to take the Draining Casting tradition, making your Spell Points act in a similar fashion to Kineticist Burn (though the HP burn you suffer is far, far less than the Kineticist's burn)

I'm not gonna lie I just copied that bit from Hero Lab without knowing what that stuff was or should be lol. I did feel like it was wrong. Thanks buddy =)
Also note that Brutal Strike and Spell Attack are both special attack actions, so you can't use both at the same time.
So the plan with Spell Attack is to use it with Vital Strike! At some point I decided I wanted cap to do big single hits. Berserker and Guardian spheres are mostly to add tankiness. Delayed Damage, Defiant Boar, Temp HP, Executioner, and Savage seems like a really fun and effective combo.
Violant
I do havw a question, since I've gotten to theorycrafting pointlessly (converting my polymath disaster alchemist to Spheres): how much non-Spheres content is allowed? Are we allowed to have, say, portions of the build be non-spheres? At least for the non-casters?
I doubt I'll submit them but... Rogue and Swashbuckler specifically would be the sphereless portions of that multiclass abomination. I just feel like building a Swashbuckler-Arcanist//Rogue-Investigator-Alchemist to these specifications.
namo
@crisichild: Given your low CL, the Spell Attack damage is pretty low. I'd recommend either focusing on Brutal Strike (getting a way to recover your focus more easily, to get the extra damage every round) OR upping your Destruction CL (via the Gift for Magic trait and/or the Focused Blast Type Group feat - on the Destruction page) to make the Spell Attack worth it. Lucky for you I freed you a feat! ;)
Vital Strike is indeed a good choice with a big weapon like yours. As you may already know, it won't multiply bonus damage like the Spell Attack dice.
@Violant: Swashbuckler, Rogue, etc... are fine. Arcanist / Alchemist / Investigator cannot use their vancian extracts / spells and so must use Sphere archetypes or a core archetype that trades away the vancian stuff.

Hey DM, I know this has already been open for a while and you posted that you've started reviewing.
Is there still time to submit a character for review?
Oh! And you said all Spheres but I want to ask: Spheres of Guile add some interesting complexity. How familiar with it are you, and do you want or not want that in this game?
Thanks!

OK, I've started work on a charismatic halfling Rogue (Grifter, Cunning Brigand) | Bravo (whim: elegance). Tentatively named Autumn Longbriar. Reference Image
She'll lean heavily into the Performance (Dance, and maybe Acting) guile sphere, guardian (patrol), and scoundrel spheres, for plenty of buffing allies and debuffing foes. She'll have plenty of skills, but with a focus on CHA and DEX ones. A good mix of Guile and Might, but no Power.
Background-wise, she grew up on the streets and I suspect as she gell in with Kell's Boys when she was young, before something happened to make her repelled by them. Now, while she's got a somewhat complex relationship with authority (CG) she's fully committed to the RHC, in part to keep other kids from falling into gang involvement like she did when she was young.
Personality: wise cracking, plenty of bravado...and more TBD
Details to come ASAP! (Hopefully before cutoff, but I know I'm accepting a risk)

Autumn Longbriar
OK, gyrfalcon here, introducing Autumn Longbriar.
She's a charismatic halfling Rogue (Grifter, Cunning Brigand) | Bravo (whim: elegance).
Mechanics / Party Roles
In combat, she's highly maneuverable, and will often be using a Dance (SoG) + a Patrol (SoM) to make the battlefield complicated for foes and/or to buff her allies. She leans mostly into the Performance, Scoundrel, Guardian, and Athletics spheres (with a bit of Body Control and Scout thrown in). In an odd way, she'll actually play a bit of a tanking/battlefield control role (despite that not being where most Rogues/Scoundrels shine.)
Out of combat, she's got great face skills, can disarm magic traps or fascinate crowds with her dancing, and is quite stealthy. No Knowledge skills or Survival, but just about everything else one might want.
She’s also a gifted craftswoman and artist, and through the RHC she’s had the opportunity to buy some rare materials (a hunk or adamantine that she crafted into a fauchard, and some darkwood that she’s crafted into a shield).
Background
Autumn's dad Roux Longbriar has a small reputation as a singer and lute player in the bars around the Docks...but what coins he takes in tends to be spent on drink and drugs before he makes it home. Still, as a child, Autumn idealized him. She would follow him to the taverns whenever she could, and would dance her heart out to the music.
For a time her more practical mother, Lessa, brought in enough money working the docks to support the family, but when Autumn was in her early teens Lessa died in a workplace accident when a rope snapped and buried her in a pile of mecha components.
After Lessa died, her dad sunk deeper into drink and the money dried up quickly. Before long, Autumn and her big brother Filver (nicknamed “Fibber” by their friends) took to petty crime to keep food on the table: some pickpocketing, fixing card games, and the like. Within a year of their antics, they attracted the notice of Kell’s Boys. The Boys strongarmed them into joining them, and upped the ante to include burglary and violent crimes. Autumn went along with it, uneasily, until a few months in when they were ordered to kill a well-to-do family and their kids in order to rob them. Autumn grabbed Fibber’s hand and whispered, ”Run!”
They managed to get away from the Boys, but not without making some dangerous enemies. Filver grew increasingly anxious and Autumn finally convinced him to leave town. Meanwhile, for herself, a help wanted poster for the RHC caught her eye. With a charming earnestness that few could manage, Autumn came clean about the trouble she’d fallen into and managed to persuade the recruiter (truthfully) that she wanted out. She trained with them for six months, but when they were ready to send her on her first big job, it was a raid of the local branch of Kell’s Boys that she’d run afoul of. Once she and her new partners had managed to capture several of them, and send the rest scurrying, Autumn finally felt like she knew who she was again, for the first time since her mom had died.
As much as she is proud to help protect Flint, her greatest love is still dancing. Many of her moves she learned on the street, but since getting a paying job she’s studied in every studio in town, and has learned to combine the fancy footwork she learned with Kell’s Boys together with her own choreography, creating a dance that can throw any foe off their game.
Personality
Despite (or because of) the hard knocks she’s lived through, Autumn has a pretty irrepressible disposition. She has a rep as a wise cracker, and for facing any fight with bravado and style.
Dance is the #1 way she diffuses stress, and the way she celebrates victories. It infuses everything she does, and she’s always working her allies into her rhythms on the battlefield..until they’ve done their duty and she can drag them to a concert hall or tavern to really let loose.

DM Gearmaster, I hope this submission isn't too late to be considered. As I put her together, I think she'll be a lot of fun to RP, as well as to explore mechanically. (This'll give me a chance to try the Bravo for the first time, as well as a bunch of Performance and Scoundrel talents I've not yet gotten to play with.)
NOTE, I tend to like to proofread my character sheet a bit longer before submission, but I want to get it to you on the sooner side. I did just give it a reread and think it's complete and correct enough for a reasonable review. I've added an Advancement Choices spoiler at the top of her profile, since I know it can be hard to piece together how a complex build like this was made. The main gaps right now are that I'd like to paste in more rules text for her class abilities and talents, and I'll fill those in in the coming days.
Thanks for your consideration!

Howdy, DM,
With one of the other contenders also doing the Astrology tradition in hedgewitch, I was thinking of switching mine to Fortune. Is that still okay at this point? It suits the fortune-teller vibe that I am looking to project.
I'm okay with doubling up on Astrology. the characters are different enough that this still works, and it gives a built-in link between the characters.

I'm getting worried about our GM.
What's more, I'm having flashbacks to a game that died mysteriously when the GM disappeared. I found out what happened a couple years later. She had been in a car crash and had severe brain injuries. Extensive enough that she was a significantly different person after recovery. She didn't even remember our game.
I seriously hope that our GM is going through less than that.
