Shohreh Kassar |
Despite herself, Shohreh snorts at Dahab's discomfort at the very idea of her. Dismissing his apology with an amused wave of her hand, she gives him an appraising look. "None taken. She asked us to find you, thinking you'd been kidnapped. Considering how Fazar tried to kill us at the very mention of your name, it certainly seems like that's what happened. And yet, you seem very, well, blasé about the whole thing. What happened?"

”Fazar did WHAT?! No no, that can’t be right! Lemme go talk to him…Oh right, the ropes. Uh…could one of you help me out here? Try not to cut it; good rope is kinda expensive. There should be a couple knots in the back that you can undo and it should come apart pretty easily.”
As one of the former-amnesiacs helps Dahab out of his bindings, he says ”I don’t even know where the princess got the idea that I was kidnapped. I was gone for, what, a week? That’s not that unusual.”
Jevar Shadowmantle |
Jevar is pretty sure they're all headed back to see the kholo princess soon, but he finds Dahab's oblivious demeanor interesting. He allows himself the liberty of scanning his mind...
Mind reading!
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Dahab Will: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
What you DO learn, however, is that he’s a bit…too enamored with Fazar. To the point where you can easily deduce that he’s under a charm-like effect.
Jevar Shadowmantle |
Jevar has arcane sense, so can he figure out what the effect is?
Jevar Shadowmantle |
Jevar sighs at Dahab.
Your current... infatuation may not be entirely natural.
He gives his teammates a knowing glance that he hopes clearly says "more on that later".
Are you ready to return, Dahab?
Kolgradd Thunderiron |
Kolgradd looked disgusting while they were talking with Dahab.
"It makes sense, they'd clearly charmed the shopkeeper too. We should just drop this poor fool back off with her slaving highness, get the information we need and be done with this whole affair"
Jevar Shadowmantle |
I think Fazar will find you again just fine. We have no indication that he's in danger. Didn't you just say that two week vacations are normal for you?
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Alright, in that case I’m gonna advance to the previous thing:
The former-amnesiacs escort Dahab out of the tannery, where Kisetz and Hakoor are waiting outside. Upon seeing their arrival, Kisetz smiles and speaks half-sardonically. ”Dahab! Glad to see you okay. The Princess has been worried about you.”
Kisetz's tone raises Shohreh's eyebrow, and she steps to place herself partly between Dahab and the pair of mercenaries.
"How was your wait?" she asks, keeping her own tone casual.
Kisetz is caught off-guard by Shohreh’s casual tone. ”Uh…fine…?” She looks over at Hakoor with a clear look of WTF is this woman doing?! on her face. Hakoor simply shrugs.
Shohreh Kassar |
Shohreh, having clearly misread the situation, tries to mask her embarrassment with an exaggerated sigh. "Your man has been magically charmed. I don't suppose either of you have something at hand to deal with this? Otherwise it is going to be a very tedious wait until the spell wears off."

Dahab chimes in ”I have??”
Hakoor steps forward and examines Dahab closely. ”Charm magic isn’t my specialty, but such things rarely last longer than a day. Unless we’re talking about rituals. Were you ever affected by a long-casting-time magic spell, Dahab?”
“Uh…no?”
“Then there you have it. Shouldn’t last longer than 24 hours in that case. Whoever cast it probably had to regularly reapply it, and Dahab was none the wiser about it, since charm spells are usually very inconspicuous.”
Jevar Shadowmantle |
With the subject having been broached, Jevar remarks to Dahab
Give it the time to wear off, and then perhaps re-assess your... entanglement with Fazar. Consider if you really would want to do all of the things that you've down without the influence of his spell.
Control is not love... The last part he keeps to himself, thinking on the obstinance and resistance of youth.
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
"Well then!" Hakoor proclaims. "Shall we be heading back to the Princess?"
Shohreh Kassar |
"Soon. I have a few questions first,"[b] Shohreh says, turning back to Kisetz. She regards the woman for a moment, faced with a reality of a person she never expected to see again. Just get it over with.
[b]"Do you remember me? I've thought about you every day since they took you, my sister."
GM Xavier Kahlvet |
Kisetz stops in her tracks. She slowly looks over at Shohreh. In a quick flash, Kisetz grabs Shohreh by the collar of her clothes and draws a scimitar! This sudden aggression catches even Hakoor off-guard.
”Who the f*ck do you think you are, saying that to me?! This some kind of ploy to get something outta me? I dunno who you think you are or how you knew, but you are NOT my sister! But if you’re so intent on being her, I could gouge out your eye to complete the disguise! As long as I bring Dahab back and tell the Princess you attacked first, she wouldn’t give two sh*ts!”
Kolgradd Thunderiron |
"You'll have a hard time bringing Dahab back when you're dead, which you will be if you try that"
Kolgradd isn't trying to intimidate, just let Shohreh know he's there and has her back.
