Targets any number of creatures, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart

DESCRIPTION

This spell functions like phantasmal killer, except it can affect more than one creature. Only the affected creatures see the phantasmal creatures attacking them, though you see the attackers as shadowy shapes.

If a subject’s Fortitude save succeeds, it still takes 3d6 points of damage and is stunned for 1 round. The subject also takes 1d4 points
of Strength damage.

You create a phantasmal image of the most fearsome creature imaginable to the subject simply by forming the fears of the subject’s subconscious mind into something that its conscious mind can visualize: this most horrible beast. Only the spell’s subject can see the phantasmal killer. You see only a vague shape. The target first gets a Will save to recognize the image as unreal. If that save fails, the phantasm touches the subject, and the subject must succeed on a Fortitude save or die from fear. Even if the Fortitude save is successful, the subject takes 3d6 points of damage.

If the subject of a phantasmal killer attack succeeds in disbelieving and possesses telepathy or is wearing a helm of telepathy, the beast can be turned upon you. You must then disbelieve it or become subject to its deadly fear attack.

You can also just link to the PRD (Weird Spell) instead of copy-pasting, but that is a very nasty spell at such a high level used against us lower level characters.

I don't want to meta-game, but this is kind of relevant. One detail you left out of the trap which would make several people immune to the Weird spell,

Quote:
"an individual creature can be affected by a spell from this trap only once per day."

Which would mean that Trokkus, Jack, and Piggle were all immune to the second spell and thus shouldn't be taking any damage.

Also we're playing up (high tier), the pearl of power should be for 3rd level and I wouldn't have been able to identify it with that horrible role. But that doesn't stop Piggle from swiping it.


You're right the pearl is lvl 3 I didn't realize and the spell that only affects a creature is the phantasmal killer, weird is the expanded version of that same and behaves the same.

you couldn't detect the trap for very little as it demanded a 34 dc. So you detected magic in it.

GM, I had moved to the left and down. I'm not sure why I got moved back. I'd move myself, but then the monster would have to be moved as well in order to attack me like it did.

1) If you are delaying us to after the dimension door add +3 to hit and damage to every attack. And change the debilitating injury to Hampered: All of the target’s speeds are reduced by half (to a minimum of 5 feet). In addition, the target cannot take a 5-foot step.
2) Can you elaborate on not doing full damage. Did his flesh ooze around the blows like some abomination or was it like hitting a stone wall?
3) How many hits hit?

Everyone who touched the strange stone ioun won an extra feat (you must tell me which one to add to the chronicle) but instead you suffer a penalty and you gain a level in your alignment that makes you a little more evil, but for 1000g you can use a atonement and stay as you are.
