Absolutely not. It is far better to use a wand then hope to hit with acid splash. You just have to realize that this type of wand is not going to make or break your game but provide consistent damage until you hit mid-levels.

While I would like to believe that my wizards stop the battlefield with every spell that they cast this is sadly not always the case. Having a reliable means of doing basically unstoppable (force) damage is always good.

I am heading to a local con over the weekend. I suspect that I won't be able to update the game until late Sunday night or, perhaps, Monday morning.

Druellandast - A bit of an academic point as the Gorilla was already blind and stunned when your spell was cast but typically you can not summon creatures directly into another creature's square.

Sure you can copy up to 9th level spells if your spellcraft is high enough and you have the cash to pay for the inks to scribe the spells.
Check out chapter 9 in the CRB.
