Rokgurn |
Rokgurn protects the party from possible lightning from the storm (Resist Energy (Electricity), Communal (30), CL 14). He then casts a few helpful spells on himself (Fly CL 14, Deathward CL 13 and Bull Strength CL 13).
"Everyone Ready? We should go as soon as possible."
Omrax the Bold |
Omrax nods I. Agreement
”If we are ready then let us proceed to the site of the source of evil. If the eagles will not carry us, I shall call my flying hound to carry me.“
if needed he summons spectral hound from helm to carry him aloft

Rokgurn |
Rokgurn motions to a giant eagle to carry the Paladin.
"By all means good knight ride an eagle. That is what they are here for."
The remaining three giant eagles look at the party with a human-like intelligence. They seem eager to assist the party.
Yuri Twobeards |
Yuri eyes the eagles warily before taking a long draught of egg nog to fortify himself for the flight.
Kasimir vonVang |
Kasimir rolls up his carpet, and stashes it into his haversack. Improbably, it somehow fits.
He then casts Resist Fire:30 on the group. He loads the new-found scroll of Death Ward into his wrist sheath, then boards an Eagle.

Yuri Twobeards |
Yuri scowls up at the red disc. "That sun ain't red! It's chicken!" Then he furrows his brow in puzzlement, not quite sure what he's talking about. Ok, Yuri, maybe time to lay off the egg nog...
Hamish Carmody O'Toole |
As a reminder, we all get a +2 bonus on init, from Rokgurn's urban thing... not sure if it effects anything, but always good to mention, just in case.
"No sign of the scalliwags... but they's as like to be laying low, waitin' to ambush us, as anything." Hamish mutters, seeing no sign of anyone.
He says a quick spell, immediately hastening everyone's movements.
Casting haste, hitting everyone, including the familiar and the eagles (heh, 12 targets, nice!)... and for once getting Yuri before he goes all bonkers =)
The Seaward Gull, under the de facto temporary command of acting Captain Yuri Twobeards, sails forward, its sails blowing quite contrary to the prevailing wind conditions, as it tacks eastward and upwards, the lookouts keeping their eyes peeled for trouble!
Gull, Perception, wind penalty: 1d20 + 20 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 20 - 4 = 32
The Gull also has see invisible running (which I believe has a 60' range)
Unsure what height we started at, but consider the Gull ascending as it moves
"Where to, cap'n? Will be quite to task keepin' our bow to the wind in this." Mr. Phips calls up to Yuri, his diminutive form almost lost beneath the large sized dwarf.
Have only moved part of the Gull's movements, in case something makes itself apparent... will adjust if anything gets spotted.
If needed: Fly: 1d20 + 11 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 12 = 25
Rokgurn |
Rokgurn calls upon the divine inspiration of the Azata Sulianna.
Suddenly he is able to see the invisible. He flies close to the Gull and remains aloft scanning the area with his eagle eyes and bat ears.
Both See Invisibility and Echolocation (Transmutation) are active.

Grandmaster TOZ |
As Rokgurn searches for enemies, a figure appears on the central tower above, a feminine form of iron with wrists pierced by chains that end in curved blades. She stares at the party, clearly focusing arcane energy.
The Gull will need a Will save please.

Kasimir makes a reactive Spellcraft check.

(His turn will still include the Eagle’s movement to the roof and his casting of True Seeing. He’ll add a copycat and bardic performance: inspire courage, now that there’s something to see)
Omrax the Bold |
Unless the Gull does something strange, Omrax will urge the Eagle closely aside Kasimir's track upward to gain altitude.
I dare not risk your eagle, but this creature needs desperately to be dispatched to the pits from whence it crawled.
Was not sure if his buffs were cast yet since he said 'upon reaching/entering the tower', so assuming he is doing that now...divine bond and swift action smite evil vs chain woman.
Grandmaster TOZ |
If any buffs were being held until entering the tower, they would not be up before initiative.
Omrax the Bold |
Updated sheet as Omrax would use divine bond and cast blade of bright Victory as we enter.
So we never made it to the tower - he would not have activated it that far from the tower...so it is up now. But not spell
Kasimir vonVang |
I was specifically offering to cast spells before we got on the Eagles. Shield of faith does last that long, which is why I cast it on Yuri. The real question in my mind is will you accept help from Asmodeus? Players have told me ‘no thanks’ in the past.
Rokgurn |
Omrax has accepted your spells in the past and he knew that you were casting it when he offered to use his pearl. Clearly Shield of Faith is up on him.
Rokgurn |
Well as long as it is part of the plan. :-J
@Grandmaster TOZ - We don't need to retcon if you don't want to but Red should be acting before my character. My initiative total is only 23 according to the INIT spoiler. My character is all in with an Init of +18.
Omrax the Bold |
Yes, the spells from Kasimir he accepted as before.
I was only speaking of the divine bond and his personal spell - blade of bright victory were not yet cast. The buff sheet is updated correctly.
Omrax eyes the rooftop woman with disdain.
Yuri Twobeards |
Yuri's first action, when he receives temporary command of the Gull, is to issue a tot of grog to each sailor. It never hurts to have the loyalty of one's crew, and given their size, this is probably a lifetime supply.
Now that the Gull has finished moving, is Yuri within 20' of the strange lady? I assume I can't full attack even if so, since I was riding on the Gull, but Yuri hasn't acted yet so I could at least do a single attack. Also, Hamish, please remind me what the benefits are of being in the Gull's aura (+2 to AC? And to saves?)
Edit: also, did we ever get any idea of what sort of a creature she is? Aside from the strange blades, is she carrying anything else of interest? Armored?

@Grandmaster TOZ - In your game do characters with good knowledge skills know the bog standard characteristics of creature types and subtypes? Example - The creature subtype for Demons has immunity to poison. The creature type of Undead has immunity to Mind-affecting.
I have noticed that the way that GM handle knowledge checks varies tremendously with some GMs allowing questions, other GMs providing answers etc. So any answer you feel comfortable with I will abide with.

Whisper recalls that graveknights are bound to their armor, which acts as an altar of sorts for the constant desecrate effect they emanate. Anyone attempting to summon positive energy within 30ft of a grave knight, be it channel energy or cure spells, must make a concentration check or expend the attempt to no benefit. The armor is also like a lich’s phylactery by restoring the grave knight should they be destroyed. To lay a grave knight fully to rest one must find a way to destroy or purify the armor. Judging by the flaming halo around his sword, Vahlo might have a ruinious ability based on flames, powering several other fell abilities.

Rokgurn lets electricity fly at the Decemvirate member, only to see the orbs wash harmlessly off of his armor. ”How thankless, Rokgurn. AoO? I don't think I've ever used my cutlass offensively... Hell, can I even get through its DR? Its not even magic!
As the daemon moves past, blowing him a kiss, Hamish swats at her backside with his flaming blade, not really trying to hit her.
"Maybe once we're done with this scallywag..." He promises, with a salty grin, as she floats away.
But even his libido has a limit, as he turns his attention back to the invisible threat stabbing him nearby. He cautiously says a few quick arcane phrases, then suddenly disappears from sight! (Or at least the sight of everyone but Kasimir, Rokgurn, and his ship)
And hopefully the bad guy! =P
