Kasimir calls on the power of the Lord of Hell to strip away the glamors of the enemy Decemvirate. Suddenly visible, Vahlo is struck by rapid explosions from Bombshell, before the Gull strikes a heavy blow. Not as heavy as it could have been, nor does it manage to pull Vahlo in range of further bombardment. Up close and with his invisibility gone, you notice a ragged wound in his side, glowing with green energy. Omrax rides up to the daemon and levels a nasty slash into the fiend, a pained sneer ruining the cold beauty of her face.

"Such a shame." the daemon murmurs, dancing past Omrax towards the rest of the party. "What inconvenient winds."

It is my understanding that if the eagles do not attack then the spell will stay up for hours/level. The eagle will need a 20 to hit so he will not attack.

"That's not going to earn you extra Captain time, woman!" Hamish yells, as she opens up another bloody wound... this time one that seems to want to keep bleeding!

"Well..." he concedes a moment later. "I might... had this one lass in Katheer who kept trying to stick a knife in me too... at least til I got her too distracted by uh... other things! Har!"

I take the bleed damage at the beginning of my turn, right? So another 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2?

He tries to apply pressure to stop the bleeding, but is having no luck... so pulls out a wand with one bloody hand, and attempts to use some magical healing instead! All the while, casually putting Rokgurn between him and the daemon lady.

5' step, Move, draw wand, standard attempt to UMD it...

UMD to activate wand: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

But it keeps slipping in his blood-covered hands, and he fails to activate it properly.

The blood continues to flow.

The Seaward Gull, under literally temporary Captain Yuri, sails off after the last remaining target.

It works its way around the side, as the crew hastily reload the harpoons, and fire once more, attempting to real her in, and anchor her down, before she can blow away even farther.

Maintaining his inspiration, Kasimir urges his mount toward the vacant helm. The Eagle proves a skilled flyer, and wings close enough that Kasimir can grab the floating helmet as they swoop by.

At that point, Kasimir attempts to let go of the Eagle with his other hand.

Wobbling a bit, he immediately grabs ahold of some feathers again.

@Kasimir - At worst you only have to hold on to your mount with one hand. Unless you have a heavy shield you should be fine.

Rokgurn notices Hamish continue to bleed but remembers the difficulty with casting curative spells around the helmet. He quickly rips part of Hamish's undershirt revealing a manly chest for Bombshell to gawk at. He uses the material to fashion a make-shift tourniquet to attempt to stop the bleeding.

Heal check, First Aid to stop Bleed: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24

Satisfied with the result he moves further away from the evil helmet.

@ Rokgurn. Right. One hand for Eagle, one hand for the helmet I just grabbed. I’m not worried about falling to my doom, but I’m unable to cast spells or attack until I free up a hand.

In any case, I’m also air walking, and wearing a ring of feather falling.

In my opinion, no cleric should -ever- purchase a heavy shield, it really forces you to fight OR cast, and limits your versatility.


On Hiatus

The daemon is rocked left and right by the Pathfinders attacks, but still remains standing. A wicked grin spreads across her face as an uncomfortable buzzing sound rises. Red lightning leaps from the blade still locked in Vahlo's gauntlet, to the triple-spired helm, out to every creature in the area. Your ears pop as there is a drastic drop in pressure all around. The red disc over the tower of Skyreach takes the red lightning bolts and grows even larger still.

Whisper realizes that the ritual Vahlo was enacting has become unstable without a lead to direct it. It could very well blast out in a chaotic disorganized disaster if not reigned in. Any action that would dissipate spells, form a solid barricade, manipulate energy, or understand the play of magical force could be used to influence the ritual before it goes wild.

Yuri cannot believe how this daemon is harassing his friend Hamish who, it is well known, has never harmed a soul! Too close to chastise her with his dorn-dergar, Yuri resorts to the ancient dwarven ritual of head-butting.

Omrax strikes the daemon's head from her shoulders in a heroic charge! As her body falls, the iron form crumbles, turning into almost sand-like powder. It swirls in the wind before arcing against it, seemingly sucked into the deep red disc. It grows even larger as the red lightning continues to arc wildly around the heights of Skyreach.

Kasimir shoves the helmet into his haversack, and withdraws a scroll. To the Eagle, he simply says ”Away, the ritual looks unstable.”

The Eagle agrees, and flaps away. (30 feet farther off the map)


Giant Eagle(#3) flies wing to wing with Omrax's mount. He waits to see if his companion eagle will falter. If he does he will scoop up Omrax with a mighty claw.

Bombshell directs his eagle to slow (5' fly forward) against the heavy winds.

The diminutive alchemist turns her attention to the problem at hand.

"Tricky problem this is. Clearly an inverted warping of arcane energy. But how to control it?"

Rokgurn flies head to head with Bombshell so they can all discuss how best to control this magical phenomenon. Whisper pokes his head out of the bag but remains mostly in Rokgurn's backpack seeking shelter against the heavy wind.

when my turn comes up:

Kasimir wheels around to come within range (medium), and uses his scroll of windwall to encase the ritual in a cylinder of fast moving wind.

As the spell completes, the scroll bursts into flame and is destroyed.


On Hiatus

Whisper helps Rokgurn and Bombshell work to speak arcane procedures against the blossoming ritual energy, as Kasimir prepares to enact a barrier. Omrax struggles to reach the ailing eagle as its lifeblood slips away.

Hamish pulls off a sash from around his waist and wraps it around the wound, furthering bolstering the emergency first aid from Rokgurn, as he glances back towards where the erstwhile ritual appears to be going amok.

"We got a maelstrom forming off to port, lads!" He cries. "Batten down hatches! Secure the lines! This is like to get worse, before it gets better!"

He flies off to the side, away from the creepy deathknight armor, and prepares an arcane spell of his own.

Hopefully am out of the negative healing aura now, anyway.

"Reminds me o' the time that fire mephit got loose in the powder storage room!" He exclaims, clearly enjoying all the mayhem. "This sort a thing, you need to direct it, not contain it... allow it to dissipate somewhere. Blew a hole in the side of the Gull five paces across, but she stayed afloat!"

An odd recounting indeed, considering the Seaward Gull is not even five paces long, normally.

Will wait til Yuri decides what to do, then will add a Wall of Stone of his own to the mix, encasing the entire ritual area, building off of the stone tower, in a cylinder as thick as he can make it, but open at the top, hoping to direct whatever blast comes upwards, rather than outwards.

Yuri's temper begins to fade as he gazes up at the ritual taking shape. He would love to simply smash it to bits, but he wonders if that would actually be effective.

With his jovial good fortune restored, Yuri returns to his usual brainy self and begins to direct the others in the (nearly) lost ritual techniques of the sand dwarves, and how they can be applied to the current situation, taking care to correct any sloppy hand gestures or intonations of the others, especially the casters, who one can never be too careful about.

As the party works to take the reigns of the ritual, Hamish places down a stone barricade to direct the energy skyward. Before Omrax can reach the summoned mount, the red disc contracts sharply. Loose tiles, pieces of the wall of stone, and every creature in the vicinity is drawn rapidly towards the pinpoint of red over Skyreach. Vahlo's armor and the blade locked to it are pulled in as well.

You all feel yourselves broken down, your bodies discorporated by the singularity of the ritual, before the energy explodes outward, hurling your rapidly reconstituting forms across the length of the grand lodge towards the northwest wall. The impact leaves you disoriented and prone, staring up at the length of black glass inscribed with the names of Pathfinders.

Bludgeoning Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3) = 11
Electricity Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2) = 6 Fort save to half both damages for everyone in the blast.

Vahlo's helm strikes the wall with a dull clang, the sound an indignity in the hushed seclusion. Red lightning arcs over it and the graveknights armor, desiccated skin rapidly growing over reforming bones.

Yuri and Omrax did not get to take their actions and so did not use their boons/lay on hands respectively. I gave Hamish the wall of stone despite Yuri not getting to act. DC38 for the Spellcraft/Arcana checks, so only one success there. Whisper will recognize once they can see him that Vahlo is rapidly regenerating thanks to the energies of the ritual, but cannot be harmed yet.

Kasimir stands himself up, brushing the dust from his vestments as he does so. He sees the graveknight reforming, and decides to ask his patron for help. Alecto, Megaera, Tisiphone, in His name I summon thee forth from the depths of hell. Come, and wreak your vengeance!

Kasimir then shouts Strike down our enemies in his name! Great is Asmodeus! renewing his inspiration of his comrades, including the recently summoned ones.

An Erinyes appears! She takes to the air and readies to throw a rope made of her own hair at the graveknight.


The poor eagles struggle against the power of the ritual with Omrax's former mount exploding in a giant fountain of blood and feathers.

Bombshell has Stoneskin so no damage for her. Also the eagles should be going on my initiative if they are not mounted as they are technically a summon and not an AC. I can roll it if you disagree.

As Rokgurn and Crazy ready attacks, the artifact in Vahlo's gauntlet launches red lightning to the wall. Names begin to glow red, the letters lifting off the glass to leave a smooth, unblemished surface where names once displayed. The red glow coalesces into a figure, face shifting forms as it raises clenched fists and glides towards Kasimir. Vahlo's armor continues to regenerate, taking no action.

Let me know if you are okay with running your dead character and make the attack on Kasimir. :)

Activating his bracers, Kasimir will attempt to defensively cast heal, and touch the undead whatever it was. He then backpedals away from this creature and to the south, using his air walk spell to not sink into the water.
