I ran a 2-part series too, thinking both parts would be in the Gameday. But they really only had time for 1 session. So only part-1 is eligible and part-2 will be a normal game.


I feel a little bit like the monkey in the middle here trying to manage the personalities and egos of this diverse party. It is a fun dynamic. :)

That’s cool, Nothing is my usual result on these things.


Has anyone ever implanted Ioun stones? My understanding is that no rolls are required (not even a take 20) as per Mike Brock's past ruling. Any ideas about this?

It is probably useless but are the Eagles under attack can they fight back?

Does Rokgurn know where the creature is roughly or only that it is within 30'?

He just knows something is there. If he wants, he can wait for Bombshell to call out more specifics on her turn.


So I can assume that the creature is invisible and not incorporeal or ethereal as I am able to sense it with my regular perception. Correct?

It seemed like such a cool idea at the time. Now that the power might actually be useful there is an extra-dimensional lock down.

I thought we would be good with the Eagle guard but no. Sigh. Some days you get the bear and some days the bear gets you.

No, I mean the eagles stopped the surprise round in this combat. Also, I will see if I can edit the slides to show enemy position, have to use the iPad for now. Good time to roll a twenty!

Actually no, I realized they had a better strategy to ensure it worked. Having to double-move means the first one was the one to fly out over the edge.


Thanks to Bombshell for getting rid of those soul eaters. I have no idea what their special attack was but I am sure that it was scary. Regular assassins with sneak attack, bleed, possibly poison and low static damage is right up my elemental alley.

We were you casting defensively in the first place? Your Invisibility Purge was doing the trick.

@ Mage - There are a few ways to bypass Invisibility Purge. And I took a chance that the assassins who defend the temple of the assassin god might have those.


@Hamish - The other one is invisible. He must be under Greater Invisibility like effect and not revealed by invisibility purge. As we know that he flanked to sneak attack Crazy we know which square he is in.


@Kasimir - Understandable. Perhaps it makes the fight more fun anyways without the summons. More goons for Yuri and Omrax to kill.

Apologies, I don’t get to use this spell enough. The second mantis should be visible now.


It is not as flashy as Glitterdust but my high level Cleric swears by it. Huge area and decent duration. What is not to love.

I will say that it broke when he attacked, not when he moved in. ;)

I have had the worst luck with invisibility purge, as every time my cleric had it prepared, the enemy was naturally invisible and unrevealed.


Sure. It is plot blood. :)

You have to keep the GM happy so he will GM again and try to kill your character the next time. It is a sick circle. ;)

A scratch to keep the party going is a worthwhile sacrifice.

Admittedly, Yuri is very happy to give me opportunities to attack him, they just haven't been able to take advantage of them much.

Better them then us. I have to say that these eagles have really pulled their weight. What a surprise for a slot that I originally thought only good enough to burn to power Divine Intervention.

8 hardness doesn't seem that hard to overcome.

@Hamish - if they’re built around weapon finesse and sneak attack, then they’re really struggling against hardness. At least, that was my experience when I played a rogue/ranger.

You should be sorry because you are a seeker level character that has only cast Wall of Stone once in your career and you get it as an early entry too. It is one of the best spells in the game as it works all the time with no saving throw and SR NO. You should have been spamming it like crazy. Shame. ;)

Wall of Thorns is admittedly better at trapping people but Wall of Stone is just amazing overall.

Edit - Tactically it seemed the smart move. In fact I was going to Wall of Thorns the entrance and these two goons but you beat me to it.


@Grandmaster TOZ - Were the Soul Eaters ever visible due to the Invisibility Purge or after they were attacked by Crazy? Also can we make knowledge checks in regards to the mantis creatures on our turn?

The mantis are not creatures. Only Bombshell saw the soul eater before it evaporated.

All you see are animate stone carvings. They appear to be a hazard of some kind.
