Hey Everyone,
I have some unfortunate news. I regret to inform you all that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.
This would place our new dates for Gameday at: 09 Sept 2019 - 17 Nov 2019
WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
As most of you are aware, the majority of the GM’s have not received their scenario support for the Convention to include a good portion of the Specials. With Tonya occupied by other duties this weekend, we realized as a team that we are very unlikely to see the remainder of scenario support drop by Monday the 26th. Multiple avenues were discussed and what seems to be the best solution is to push Gameday back by two weeks. This will allow enough time for the GM’s to receive their scenarios and prep them.
BUT WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE OUR SCENARIOS, CAN WE START THEM?
Please hold off until the new start date to be able to eligible for your boon rewards. I understand this is a large inconvenience, we are doing everything we can to make this work. Part of that is to have everyone one the same start / end times rather than scattered.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but we want all our GMs to have a chance to shine.
HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?
Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well as the Gameday VIII Announcement page.
I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.
If you have any other questions please don’t be afraid to ask.

To be honest, I don't remember CHOOSING Sovereign Court. One season my faction vanished, and I ended up with Giovanni tagged as SC. I just never bothered to change it! The character was designed as an enforcer thug, who didn't need to break bones. SC just strikes me as funny, given that, ya know?

i have one reward from honor echo quest that give a visbarony but only give me bonus to diplomacy with taldans

I'm not quite sure how this should play out. I can be dim like Gurkagh! So we need two things: proof of Vernisant's negotiations with foreign dignitaries, and proof of his involvement in the assassination conspiracy. Is our idea to trick the Chamberlain to give us documents to prove the first one, and then later sneak around to try to find the second thing?

Did anything of value come from the speak with dead?

I will give you a brief bit on what you learned...
1. They were hired by Calhadioun to kill any intruders while he was gone.
2. If anyone entering the abode appeared to be suspicious, they were to be killed in the most discrete way possible I.E; Poison.
3. If the Chamberlain worked outside of the interest of Calhadioun, she was to be killed.
4. If the Chamberlain was suspected to not be working in the interest of Calhadioun, she was to be killed.
5. The poison they used was called Shadow's Essence.
6. These assassins work with a group called The Brotherhood of Silence.
If you have any further questions beyond that, let me know :)

These are cannon-fodder guards who are positioned outside to blockade the doors and prevent anyone from fleeing during the slaughter. :3

oh, okay. Thought he went down too easy.
Well then, they may have bought them a round. Maybe two.

The October chill made the backpacking experience bearable, I think. I'm in South Texas, so our version of chilly isn't like what a lot of people think of as chilly. The closest town to our campsite reported a range of 50 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit for the Saturday where we did most of the walking. Sunday was 51 to 78, but we had finished our walk by 9 AM, so it was still on the lower end of that scale when we stopped.
We were in the Texas Hill Country. Here's some quick Google-fu about what the area looked like. Yeah, it was pretty. Yeah, I enjoyed the walk. Yeah, several of the youth had a miserable time because they carried way too much, or they were using packs that don't fit. No, we didn't really walk very far, because the primary purpose of doing a backpacking trip this time was to help them understand and better prepare for next month's trip, where we will have to carry all of the water we need . . ..
I'll miss next month's trip to Enchanted Rock because I'll be recovering from hernia surgery (not a big deal, but 6 weeks with no serious exertion means no real backpacking). The main feature at Enchanted Rock state park is a natural rock dome. I have NEVER seen that park as green as the pictures show it.

Hey. I have surgery in the morning. Pretty minor, but it IS surgery. Outpatient, with a normal "don't work" period of 2 days, and a "no exertion" period of like 6 weeks.
I should be giving all my games another pass this evening, but I make no promises for the next day or two.
What is it? An umbilical hernia repair. Surgeon says I have multiple hernias right there together. All I know for sure is the general practitioner who referred em to the surgeon had it right when he said it looks like I'm going to give birth to a Titleist.

Apparently Gurkagh can't tell the difference between a horse and a lion . . . or I can't read very well. Ha! I think I just assumed a Taldan noble would have a horse for a mount, and didn't pay close enough attention to what it actually was.

Was at the hospital from about 0730 till about 1615. Home. reasonably awake, and medicated. The entire area over the hernia and belly button is under s bandage I'm not supposed to touch until Saturday, so all I know is I have some ugly looking injuries from where the laparoscopic entry points were on my left side. Not as limited in my movements this morning as I thought I would be, which is good. Abdominal muscles are a little tight, though. Don't think I can blame them. I figured they would be a LOT more mad than they seem to be.

1 bite, 2 claws, a rake, and 3 sword swings vs Giovanni. All misses.
While life with the medical stuff is not as fun right now, at least you have this story to tell people how an Outflanking Cavalier and his pet couldn't even touch you.
Here's hoping your recovery process is a smooth one! :D
GM Worg

Eventually. I'll be keeping you in mind when I have recovered enough to do it and finish up several other projects.
Probably Spring 2020 or so.

That was great we wrapped when we did, as I was just about to post tomorrow that I'm heading on a trip for a few weeks and wouldn't be able to post reliably. GM, do you need anything special for Chronicles?

Survival: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
@GM Do not forget the boons. 19 or 20 gets one and then a d3 determines what you get.
boon: 1d20 ⇒ 7

I count 3 people ready to spend Prestige Points on the Raise Dead and the parent's debt. I think that question's all but over. Now it is more Is there anyone who refuses to contribute or who will contribute less?
I was prepared to pay the 16 by myself, so, I do think it is just about how much each covers.

Milo will want to scribe some spells from that spellbook, which will need to be noted on the chronicle.
1) (none)
2) acid arrow, bull's strength (40gp x 2 = 80 gp)
3) ray of exhaustion, vampiric touch (90gp x 2 = 180 gp)
4) fire shield, wall of ice (160gp x 2 = 320 gp)
So 580gp in scribing costs.
(He can't fail the spellcraft roll)
Eramos

Sorry, I forgot to put that survival is my day job roll via the hunting lodge vanity. So I should get 50gp out of it.

No worries GM. Thanks
