Not trying to take over...
Thank you sir!

OK, so I was going back through the Gameplay thread to compose TT's upcoming oration to the citizens of Orlane about the party's awesome exploits in slaying the naga and saving their village, and...I decided to compile an actual treasure list while doing so. I'll post it below. I marked down treasures that went to a specific character (mostly mine!); if someone claimed an item, let me know.
There are some items that we never fully checked out (a black mace and a naga's kiss spell come to mind), so we'll need to ID those things and get names/values from the GM. For now, though, here's the list I compiled and the gp value if we sell them.
GEAR
3 saps (3 / 2 = 1.5 gp)
4 clubs (n/a)
1 light wooden shield (3 / 2 = 1.5 gp)
Scrolls (Cure Light Wounds (Sea Ranger), Spiritual Weapon, and Kiss of the Naga)
Black magical mace (Chestman)
+2 sap (8,301 gp - TT)
2 masterwork daggers (604 / 2 = 302 gp)
manual of gainful exercise (+1?) (27,500 / 2 = 13,750 gp)
3 short swords (30 gp / 2 = 15 gp)
+1 flaming short sword (8,310 gp - TT)
+1 frost short sword [8,310 / 2 = 4,155]
GOLD & COINS
9 gp
4 gp
80 sp
40 cp
50 gp (painting)
15 gp
20 sp
200 gp
175 sp
29 cp
20 gp (silverware)
100 gp (2 silver bars)
20 gp
5 sp
5,000 gp
2,000 sp
Naga skin (TT)
5,373 gp
2,280 sp
69 cp
170 gp (stuff)
Once we ID the unknown magic, I'll add their values and we can all work toward an equitable split.

Me too. It's wrapped up in a blanket or some other cloth because we were 99.9% sure it's EVIL and we didn't want to touch it.
| Sea Ranger |
LOL! I always laughed at those crazy names, they had a definite'70s feel to them! I'll claim the +1 Frost Brand short sword, if that's okay with everyone? I'll get my level up posted in the next few days as well.

Not sure if we're waiting on the GM for the Orlane Wrap-Up post or if he's waiting on me. I've got TT's tale of the defeat of the Reptile God ready to post, if it's time.

Sea Ranger - Level 4 Update
Class: 2nd level of Druid
hp: +7 (5 + 1 Con +1 FC)
BAB: +1
Saves: +1 Fort, +1 Will
Ability Score Increase: +1 Strength
Druid Skill Ranks Taken: 6 (+4 class, +0 Int, +2 Background)
+1 Climb
+1 Handle Animal (Background)
+1 Knowledge [Geography] (Background)
+1 Perception
+1 Stealth
+1 Survival
Druid Class Feature:
Woodland Stride
New Druid Spells Per Day: 1 0-level; 1 1st-level
Additional Notes:
Using the Beast Master archetype for his Ranger class, adding a wolf companion instead of leveling up Scout. So Sea Ranger now has two animal companions, each of 1st level. He'll always have Scout with him, but on land he'll have his wolf as well, and it at sea he'll dismiss the wolf and summon his manta ray companion.
Purchasing masterwork lamellar (leather) armor (Ultimate Equipment), a heavy darkwood shield and a throwing axe, selling leather armor and scimitar. Added the +1 'Frost' shortsword to character sheet also.
Might purchase a few more odds and ends as well, but they won't be worth mentioning. Wanted to make sure that lamellar armor was okay with you, as Sea Ranger is limited to non-metal armors for protection.

Alright. The grand total once we sell off stuff is: 14,660.07 gp.
This total DOES NOT include the swords claimed by Vesica and Sea Ranger (each worth 8,310 gp), nor does it include selling off the manual of gainful exercise +1 (I figure someone in the group might want that +1 boost to Strength).
If we're going to split equally among 5 and letting folks claim items of use as we go (and not counting it against their share of treasure, that works out to 2,932 gp & 1 cp each. Also, add 100 gp each from the 500 gp reward the mayor offered to eliminate the naga and her cult.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
If we choose to count treasure claimed against each PC's share of treasure, the easiest way might just be to cut Vesica, Sea Ranger, and whoever claims the manual of gainful exercise out of their treasure shares and divide the 14,660 gp among the other two PCs, resulting in 7,330 gp shares for both of them.
I still suggest that each PC keep their share of the mayor's reward (100 gp each) just so everyone will have at least a little spending money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally, I'm in the "Let PCs claim useful items as we go" camp, hoping that things even out gear-wise over time as the campaign plays out, with each player character getting an equal share of the gold split each time we sell off things.
What are other folks' preference?

I agree with you, TT. If someone can use an item... great! It seems harsh to penalize them just because they are the only ones able to use an item! As for the book...I will claim it if no one else does... I can always use a little more Strength!
As for the money, Gothia come from a wealthy family, and so other than keeping a few hundred gp for 'incidentals', the rest can sit in 'party' funds to be used as needed. Maybe once everyone goes their own way, it can be split up; otherwise, all is good.
| Sea Ranger |
I like the idea of sharing powerful magic items based on ability/usefulness to a particular character. Gothia getting the STR tome makes sense to me. I'm fine with splitting gold evenly in the meantime. Having a party/slush fund sounds good in theory, but once we start getting enough gold to upgrade weapons/armor or purchase magical items it could get problematic.
If a PC gets left out of the powerful magic item pool for an extended period of time, the others could pay out a share of their personal funds, perhaps? Though that's something that could be hammered out at a later time. Chestman needs a good axe! Or a Decanter of Endless Ale or something... :D
And thank you for doing the math, TT!

I'm planning on having TT pick up masterwork items--studded leather armor, buckler, and thieves' tools--at some point while the party travels between Orlane and the Wild Coast.
If anyone needs a loan to purchase new gear, let me know and TT will be willing to oblige.
