Jhaeman, I believe that with 6 players that we will need a less focus on filling all the roles and everyone playing what they’d like.
Supreveio has a human brawler
Coffee Dragon is cleric or Wizard if someone wants to play a cleric
Trawets71 is leaning Halfling or gnome sorcerer
Phillip maybe an investigator. There is a lot of room in there
So then it's now -
Human Brawler
Dwarf Cleric
Halfling Sorcerer
Human Investigator
??? Occultist

Given that the tone is quite serious, I will have to drop the Goose... I don't think it would survive very long :D (I still think it's hilarious.)
I'm therefore going with a character who is still not very serious, but actually has a decent chance of survival AND will contribute to the party's needs.
Reworking my Gunslinger. We could use another heavy hitter besides the Brawler. Do you allow for archetypes?

Once you are finished building your character please post it in here so I can look over it before we start.
Tolbold Cotton - Halfling Sorcerer
Trevor Culexis - Human Investigator
Carolynn Croyle - Human Brawler
Ghrael Kraghorn - Dwarf Cleric (I did not see a build)
Jhaeman - Occultist inbound
Ythiel - Gunslinger inbound
As I am refreshing myself on this I will be sharing known info with you this week. But, go ahead and roll me a Knowledge Local check in here.
No matter if you have been here your entire life, you have lived here the last 10 years and one major piece is that you have a relative that was on an infamous jury of a trial from 10 years ago. Each of which have passed since then.
EDIT: One last thing while reading. This module is very graphic with violence and there are hints at sexual assault. I saw a warning posted in other play by post games and thought that was a good idea. If that changes anyone's thought on playing the module I would understand. I will not be playing up the assault aspect but when it comes to violence... it is in the theme of an 80's horror movie.

My occultist will be a human, and I'm thinking I'll go with the Curator archetype to represent a collector/merchant in rare and occult objects. Physically and personality-wise, the character will be a bit like Nero Wolfe, but one whose Archie Goodwin died recently and so he has to (grudgingly!) go out into the field to source precious artifacts himself.

HUGE Nero Wolfe fan. I've read all the Stout books and most of the Goldsborough ones.
And no, GM. No build posted yet. Working on it.

Ythiel, I apologize for missing your question. Yes Pathfinder Official archetypes are allowed. Please just link the archetype in your profile from the SRD. I don't have everything and I do like to read over things so I have a good understanding of what to expect.
This goes to everyone who does an archetype in class or race.

That's great! I have to confess I've never actually read any of the books or stories--I got into Nero Wolfe through a podcast that features radio plays from the 1940s-1960s. I love the character and concept though, so I'll have to buy myself some of the books.

I don't particularly mind violence and/or body horror.
As long as the SA elements are hinted at, but not detailed (and the PCs are not at risk of being SA'd), it should be OK.
It was in the attic of her house that she found her first firearm - an old souvenir that her father had brought back from the battlefield, though he never managed to make it work. It took her months of tinkering before she could fire her first bullet, but as soon as she had her first whiff of black powder, she knew she had found her calling.
Zinli has been travelling Avistan for quite some time now, sometimes visiting, sometimes offering her services as a blacksmith or a mercenary when an opportunity arose, or her funds ran particularly low. Absalom has been offering plenty of both, and in the past decade, she's been perfectly content exploring the nooks and crannies of the Jewel of the Inner Sea, going from one activity to the next. Absalom is big and cosmopolitan enough of a city to allow her to meet some actual gunsmiths, and she dreams of opening her own firearm shop one day.
It would require much, much money than what she currently makes, though, and lately she's been longing for a mission big enough to
Optimistic, enthusiastic and prompt to smile, Zinli is quickly thrilled by something she hasn't experienced before - especially if it involves doing pretty cool things with her gun. Very curious and light-minded by nature, she shows patience and diligence only when something interests her greatly, to the point of getting hyper-focused on a project: she can easily spend hours glued to a smithy or an alchemist’s lab to get something right. When not working, Zinli is highly sociable, and her love for games and a good drink has earned her many a friend – mostly in taverns. It helps that she rarely forgets a face or a name, even if she hasn't seen the person in months, or even years.
Few things can frighten her, and Zinli is astonishingly nonplussed by her daily dealings with highly unstable, potentially explosive weapons. She carries enough black powder on her person to blow up herself -and, potentially, others- to smithereens at the slightest mistake -something that seems to delight rather than worry her. A risk-taker to the core, Zinli is impulsive enough to alarm most non-gnomes with her highly dangerous lifestyle. Amazingly, she has occasionally proven capable of making even gnomes feel uncomfortably unsafe around her.

Ten years ago, her father Akagi was chosen to be part of a jury for what would become a quite infamous trial. Being the lawful sort, he never brought up the events of the trial to anyone, but seemed wracked with guilt at times and tried to bury himself in work. This eventually led to him becoming ill and eventually passing away.
Carrie was always fascinated with the Irorium and the fights that took place there as well as the adventurers coming to and from the Great Lodge, eventually begging her parents to teach her how to fight and adventure. Her mother, Taepung, attempted to train her in the ways of the monk like herself, but Carrie's lack of patience and discipline prevented her from grasping anything other than unarmed combat. And now with her combat capabilities, it's only a matter of time before she can indulge her wanderlust and become an adventurer herself.

Jhaeman, not a problem. In the original recruitment post I said I would like to start on January 3rd so you have a few days. Because of New Year's Eve/Day I might not be able to go through everyone's character sheet before we start but I will be doing that and if I have questions about something that will be fine if we are already started.
I am looking forward to this game, as I continue to read through it I remembered that we played by candlelight and had the Silent Hill soundtrack playing in the background. It added to the atmosphere of what we were going for.
