Thinking of doing something a little ridiculous - specifically, stacking Bone Fists, Righteous Might, Aspect of the Wolf, and Divine Vessel on Sir Ambrose; only one of them has the Polymorph descriptor, so I believe they can - I just haven't tried it, because usually, a Gargantuan animal companion doesn't fit ;-)
I also plan to drop a Freedom of Movement on myself, and Sir Ambrose, to deal with the wind.

            You cannot have multiple size increasing effects on a target, polymorph or not. The wind doesnt affect either of you, you are too large and air walk doesnt require fly checks. I will also add that multiple round per level spell effects may well expire before anything actually happens. Skyreach itself is over 200' high.

            The group flies up to Skyreach, rounding the central tower and heading towards the glowing rift in the sky. As you reach the lip of the western tower the invisibility purge reveals the Triple Spired Decemvirate member lurking near the top. Only Gaius spots him. Gaius also spots on the top of the central tower a second, strange looking creature.
Gaius and Wynn can act in the surprise round. The map is updated, the towers and platforms are at different elevations. You are currently 150' in the air. Wynn is taking a -4 penalty to ranged attacks due to the wind.

            Gaius twists fate around Vahlo, he prevents the serious looking wound which was threatened but still the Decemvirate member connects on Shump.
Shump takes 45 slashing damage, 10 fire damage and 35 negative energy damage
Wynn casts his spell, preparing the kill off the member of the Decembirate, a rather bold move.
The creature on top of the tower raises one multicoloured hand and unleashes a beam of black energy at Valrar. Neither Wynn nor Alie recognise the spell (distance penalties apply). Valrar screams as his flesh begins to rot and decay before his very eyes.

            Wynn unleashes a flurry of attacks against Vahlo. As the first twinned arrows streak towards him his buckler snaps into place and deflects them harmlessly away. Of the remaining attacks only the third connects, lodging in Vahlos arms. The electrical energy crackles around him but seems to have no effect at all however he is burned by the weapons holy power.
Vahlo takes 30 damage. It is apparent that he is immune to electricity
From the tower above the strange, multicoloured, tentacled creature swoops down despite the lack of any apprent means of flight. As it approaches Wynn is able to take a shot at it but it flashes through empty air. The creatures huge jaws open wide as it snaps out at him.
The massive jaws clamp down on Wynns arm tearing flesh. However, perhaps worse the wound now seems to be rotting and necrotic.
Wynn takes 24 damage and gains a negative level. It fails to grab him. If anyone wants to try and identify the creature give me a planes check. It is also flying 5' above the group.

            The Ambassador recognises the creature as an Astradaemon. It requires good and silver weapons to harm it, it is immune to acid, death effects, disease and poison, it resists spells and other energy types and if it grapples you it can try and eat your soul. Doing so kills the victom although they can still be returned to life.
Valrar strikes repeatedly but only his first attack actually manages to connect.
Vahlo takes 31 damage
Sir Ambrose attacks the astradaemon but most of the blows strike empty air.
The astradaemon takes 64 damage after DR. All of the attacks hit but displacement negates most of them.

            Shump tries to channel the power of his God to heal his injuries but he feels some potent force blocking his divine connection. The energy he conjures simply fizzles away without effect.

He strikes repeatedly at Vahlo but every blow is countered. Vahlo calls out to him, Don't be a fool, you are being used by Torch, search your feelings, use your power to detect evil, trust in your God to show you the way...
Then, it begins to rain and lightning crackles across the sky. Looking up all of you are perhaps grateful you are not flying higher in the air. It is followed swiftly by a rolling boom of thunder.
I am going to pause here to see if anyone wants to do anything about those saves. The rain imposes a firther -2 penalty to ranged attacks for a total penalty of -6. This encounter hates archers.

As he strikes necrotic energy crawls down the blade engulfing Gaius but he manages to battle through the pain.
Gaius takes 129 damage is is very fortunate to have made that Fort save. The first three attacks all hit, the last misses by a hairs breadth. Gaius is also bleeding for 3 and needs to make me a will and fortitude save from the critical hit. It wont have any effect until next turn so go ahead and make your own.
Vahlo then takes a step away to try and avoid a full attack from Valrar.

            I also have Fire Resistance 10, so that is 10 less damage on each of those hits, I think?
If the Bleed is something that can be stopped by a DC 15 (or less) check, I am also immune to it, thanks to my Scabbard of Stanching.
Additionally, I have Light Fortification (increased to 50% by the 'Mantis Bane' boon)... which probably won't help, but it is worth checking!
That said...
Fort: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 +3 Vs. Death effects.
Will: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22 +4 Vs. Enchantment, +10 Vs. Mind-affecting (stacks).

Gaius is protected from fire and bleed but he remains badly injured. As Vahlo's blade rips into him he feels the sword trying to overwhelm his mind but he shrugs off the effect. However, the severe pain and shock of the blow leaves him reeling.

Hold Monster. Will DC 27, if I pass SR. Normally, DC is 26, but I am using Ritual fo Stardust 4715 AR boon to count one spell as heightened for +1 to DC, and I have crossed boon off my sheet. My robes of arcane heritage let me make two checks to pass SR and take the best roll.

            Wynn vanishes, relocating himself out of the way. Alie brings her power to bear against the Astradaemon. It looks like its limbs are beginning to stiffen but Vahlo does, something, and the spell slides off the daemon with no effect.
The Astradaemon turns on Gaius, seeking to put an end to his powerful healing magic. Its teeth, claws and tail tear into him and his body crashes down, lying flat in mid air and covered in blood.
