Jek sighs as the Bebilith demands a living victim and implies that it'd normally hunt down his friends. He paces a bit while the others offer different solutions and then talks quietly with the group away from the edge.

"The more I think about this, the more it sounds a bit like a toll." Jek ruminates. "Now, they aren't always bad, but it didn't build the stairs. It ate them, and that's just mean. This all reminds me of 'The Three Brothers Gruff'. It's weird that they named the brothers all the same, but that's not the point of the story. The point is that mountain grass is delicious, and killing a murderous bully is for the best. So I think I agree with Skee."

He then pauses for a beat.

"I'm glad these things don't speak common. They only read thoughts we're projecting at 'em, right?" He adds.

"Anyone good at bobbing outer planar spiders? I think it'll understand anyone thinking at it. Just like the glabrazu from when we were a little- winded..." He trails off, shivering at the memory of the howling winds of pandemonium.

Skee's bomb flies through the air and hit his target handily, however when it strikes the bebilith, Skee finds that no explosion happens, no fire, no sound, just a sad crunch as its container breaks against the tough exoskeleton of the abyssal creature. Hit, no damage

However the bomb of his golem strikes and explodes as expected lighting the bebilith and the surrounding web on fire. Revealing that these creatures nor their webs don't have any special defense against heat. Hit and full damage

Rinika likes high numbers: 1d100 ⇒ 41

Rinika finds that grabbing magic here is strange, there are surges in power, deep shorts, and the weave twists at odd angles. But she manages to hold onto the spell, this time.

The web remains intact enough to hold the bebilith up but it is spreading quickly.

It is not something that you know about. But Rinika does know the magical conditions on Ysgard with that roll.

Rinika knows:
Spells that enhance abilities in battle such as enlarge person, fly, haste work fine but spells that summon elements don't function without a spell key. However fire magic works on Muspelheim, the 2nd layer without a spell key. Space warping spells such as teleport or dimension door don't work without a spell key and they are closely guarded secrets and many false keys exist. Illusion magic works well until Loki decides they don't, often to disastrous effects. Summoning spells only bring einheriar on the first layer.

Nik manages to snuff out the fire saving both the bebilith and the web.

Bite: 1d20 + 19 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 19 - 4 = 30
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 45
Piercing: 2d6 + 9 + 8 ⇒ (2, 5) + 9 + 8 = 24

The bebilith scuttles towards Enoch a little and the abyssal spider bites Enoch in the shoulder, it punctures through his mithral armor like it was gold foil. The wound begins to itch and burning furiously as its pulls away; his flesh begins to necrotize rapidly. Enoch needs to give me a DC 23 Fort save every turn or take 2 con damage for 4 rounds.

As the bebilith tears into his newfound ally Enoch's armor, Khikril squawks out a surprised curse, flying up to the aphorite and pressing a vial smelling faintly of embalming fluid into his hand. "Here - drink this. It will necrotize the injured tissue." Snapping his clawed fingers, he motions to his golem without turning his head. "X-302, covering fire."

Xibalba shrugs, busier bemoaning her sniffles. Her misery is cut short though watching bombs suddenly lob forth and her warden plow headfirst into the web as well as its keeper. Despite her astonishment of Jek’s combat prowess, she inhales deeply from her hookah and blows out towards the creature sending a cloud white aromatic stream of smoke billowing. It crosses the webby stairs toward the psychic menace curling into the shape of ten foot chains, wrapping around its limbs.

While my gratitude is real, my symptoms are a bit more Constitution based. At least, thus far.

The Aphrodite coughs a bit of bloody phlegm into a clean white handkerchief.

Suddenly a light flickers momentarily in the Aphrorite's Blue metallic eyes as he notices the two vivid puncture wounds in his shoulder.
Huh. Weird. Maybe I will have that drink.

Unnecessary, the hover feat doesn't grant concealment if you're with 15ft of the target.

Jek puts the bebilith gently to sleep. Allowing you pass without trouble.

Nik and Xibalba keep your spells.

As the chitin-covered creature falls, Khikril lands on the Staircase again, glancing enviously at its impressive armor plates, but his duty as a doctor overrides his avarice, and he moves to Enoch, unslinging his healer's satchel from over his shoulder. "Here, let me take a look." He probes the bite mark tentatively, taking a small sample of the aphorite's blood and testing it with a drop of some alchemical reagent that causes it to violently bubble over the sides of the vial. "Your wounds aren't too bad - your system is healthy, and it's fought off the poison fairly well. I have some antivenom injections that could help, but they take some time without strenuous activity to work. As you ascend you begin to hear a horrendous sound, haunting off tune, almost melodies of a pipe so bad that it begins to affect you. You are put at ill ease and perhaps physically ill.

Everyone must make a DC 20 will save or take -2 to attacks, damage, saving throws, and ability checks.

After a climb of 100 feet you arrive at a landing with one door and another flight of stairs leading down. On the landing sits a bunch of drooling Tanar'ri, the very least of their kind, manes. Manes can never truly be killed, when they die their bodies dissolve into an acidic cloud and reforms after a day.

Rinika and Skee examine the mushrooms growing under the platform and can't really find anything remarkable about them. A quick examination by Skee proves that they are not poisonous or hallucinogenic to most people. They could serve as bland rations if cooked.

As Rinika approaches the platform she spies the source of the racket, one of the manes has a set of pan pipes that it is somehow producing the 'music'.

As the horde sees Rinika they all scream bloody murder.

Rinika moves back under the cover of Jek's big swingin lance. Seeing Nik blasting the Mane near her, she looks over with a malicious grin and gestures with puppeteering fingers.

Rinika casts Boneshaker on black-border. Assuming these things have a skeleton, its bones try to shake free of it and it lurches 5 ft, off of the platform, which does not provoke. Fort save DC 17 for half damage and no forced movement.

The golem freezes one of the manes solid causing its body to explode, bursting with acidic ice chips that dig into Jek’s flesh. Nik drains the life out of another, he wonders if this will override their immortality, but regardless it dissolves into an acid cloud like the others engulfing Jek, Skee, and Rinika. Finally Rinika shakes the bones out of another Mane bathing Jek in another cloud of caustic gas. No mwerpyness this time.

Xibalba’s head automatically snaps up to Nik. She wags a finger, smirking. “Tsk tsk. Tha has received a wish this day, kiln-kin” . The wag turns to a snap. Using his wish as a component, the giant djinn floats forward, spewing fumes from her hookah gathering towards her wish warden.
“Second go around is less than perfectwise.” Her eyes crackle as she passes through her companions, floating partially in the stairs near the scuffle. At the touch of her smoke, Jek takes on a more cloudy nature.

Shadowform on Jek. DC26 to disbelieve or 20% hit chance for enemies attacking him. +1 caster level due to Nik’s wish.
