GM Mjolbeard |

Welcome and thanks for signing up for this run of 6-18 From Under Ice (CORE), folks!
First off, I'd like to introduce myself a bit to those of you who haven't played with me before. I'm GM Mjolbeard. I've been playing PFS for a little over 3 years now, much of which has included PBP as a venue. I highly value the game, and love to do as much as I can to throw in a lot of role-play with my roll-play, as the saying goes. With that in mind, here are a few expectations that I will hold for myself as well as my players in this game:
1) Please try to maintain a posting rate of 1+ post/weekday. Weekends are almost always busier for me than weekdays in one way or another, so I may or may not post during that timeframe. I'd accept the same from you. Within those posting rates, I'd love to see as much role-play from each of you as you feel comfortable with. Particularly good role-play can potentially earn things like circumstance bonuses on various rolls.
2) Please list important information about your character in the Classes/Levels section of your stat block. Please also have your full character sheet available in your character's profile. If you're at all unsure what I'm talking about, feel free to take a look at my PFS characters for some examples.
3) I'll roll initiative for combats and perception for potential surprise situations. I'll also provide information for knowledge checks in spoilers with the DCs listed. Please refrain from reading the spoilers unless you make the DC with the appropriate skill check.
That's it for the most part. As far as start date goes, this game will take place as part of Outpost II, so we'll get started right away on March 11. For now, please provide the requested info for your character using the template below. You can also dot in on the gameplay thread with your character of choice.

Special Notes/Abilities: Please describe anything unusual about your character here, such as “I always deal non-lethal damage and use the Enforcer feat to demoralize as a free action” or “I ride a Huge serpent mount, but it’s got both the Narrow Frame feat and a Belt of the Weasel so it can fit through a 5-ft hallway easily.” This will help both you as a player not have to type the same thing over and over again and me as the GM prepare so the game runs more smoothly.
With all that out of the way, all that remains is for me to say thanks again for joining me, and happy gaming!

Son of a gun. Just realized Gwen's been here before (this scenario). And here I thought it was just on theme for her to be going to the great frozen north. Anyhow, if the GM is up for allowing it I can burn a star and play it with any of the following characters: human illusionist 3, Irish dwarf fighter 4, or human paladin 5. Whatever won't mess things up the most.

GM Mjolbeard |

I'm definitely good with you swapping out characters at this stage. Feel free to bring whatever you'd be excited to play, just as long as it's CORE!

So I will replace my hyper-competent illusion-wielding Sorceress with my mentally incompetent (actual) illusionist.
Player Great Green God
Character Faeria, the Mad
PFS # 139009-39
Faction Scarab Sages
Day Job N/A

GM Mjolbeard |

Excellent! Glad you were able to change to a character with somewhat similar skills and abilities!

There's always one game I forget during the specials. Sorry about that.
Player: Chadius
Character: Agon Abstruss
PFS#: 133608-15
Starting XP: 4
Starting PP: 6
Starting Fame: 8
Starting Gold: 1166.8
Day Job: Perform(Orator): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Special Notes/Abilities: The only way I get to play a charismatic Fighter in Core.

GM Mjolbeard |

No problem! Just jump on in there. Go ahead and give me the social roll as you try to impress Haltani, as well as the Perception check I requested in my most recent post.

GM Mjolbeard |

We do have one more player who signed up with us for this game, by the way. I have reached out to them already, and I'm giving them another day to jump in before I remove them from the sign-up sheet and open it up for another player to join the crew. If we get past the upcoming encounter without our lost player or someone else coming on, then we'll go forward with just 5 players.

Faeria's not so sure we wanna go. Do we wanna go?

GM Mjolbeard |

Sorry for the delayed posting, folks! Had some family in town over the past several days and it caused more interruptions than I had anticipated.
Now back to your regularly scheduled mayhem!

GM Mjolbeard |

Ack! I foolishly relied on copying in block text from the scenario, which is at least part of the confusion here. I won't say more about it right now, but will just say that the reference to Uliyara above was a mistake on my part. You just spoke to Haltani.
Now, to clarify about who Haltani is - she is the local woman whom your venture-captain introduced you to at the beginning of the scenario, and who has been your guide this whole time. You all have been having various interactions with her to influence her and thereby improve the Society's reputation in Irrisen. Any reference I've made to Uliyara before today was also an error, as you have not actually met anyone by that name up to this point.
I can't say much more right now, but I'll just say there are elements of this scenario that have made it really annoying to run. I apologize that that's bled over into my presentation of the adventure so far. Some of those things should be cleared up soonish, though, so hopefully we'll be able to move forward a little more smoothly.
tl;dr - I misspoke, Haltani told you to tell Baroness Nadya she said hey.

GM Mjolbeard |

Also, regarding the Scarab Sages thing--
I know that faction is technically retired, but this is more of a faction-related boon situation than a faction storyline thing, so I think you still get the specific reward for fulfilling that objective. Let me know if I'm misinterpreting that, though.

GM Mjolbeard |

Hey there, folks! We're gradually moving closer to the end of this scenario, and I'm beginning to pull together materials to get everything set for reporting. Please make sure the information you provided for your chronicles is accurate and complete, so I can get your chronicles out to you as quickly as possible once we finish up the scenario.
Also, because this game is part of Outpost II, it's time to roll for BOONS!!!
For anyone who's not familiar, here's how the boons work. I will roll a flat d20 for everybody, beginning with myself, then going on to all players in alphabetical order. If your roll comes up as a 19 or 20, you win! I will then have YOU roll 1d4 to determine which of the two potential player boons you will win.
GM Mjolbeard: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Agon Abstruss: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Aldran Ironfoot: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Carini: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Faeria the Mad: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Hudor Nero: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Rats! No winners this time. Sorry for the poor luck, folks. Anyway, we're beginning to pick up for real in this scenario, and I think things should really begin moving past this point. I appreciate you all staying engaged in this scenario, even as I was having my struggles with it. Let's finish out strong!

![]() |

Rats, no Boons this Outpost. But I probably drained my luck from the last Outpost. I got three Boons on that one.

Hi team, my apologies for disappearing at the end of last week. My life took a bit of a messy turn, but I'm getting it back on track. I don't know that I'll catch up entirely today, it may be until tomorrow or Thursday until I get get back on track with all of my games. Thanks for any botting you've done, and please feel free to keep botting until you see a post from me in Gameplay. Thanks!

GM Mjolbeard |

Hey there folks! We did it!
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves during this scenario, despite my occasional lapses. I know I certainly enjoyed all of your characters, and it was definitely interesting to go through an entire scenario with only one combat! There were plenty of other opportunities where you could have taken a more combative approach, but you guys aced the Diplomacy a lot of the time, so you ended up getting through pretty warm and fuzzy the whole time.
Now that we've wrapped up the scenario, I just need to get you all chronicles! I have almost everyone's information, with the exception of @Carini. If you all could make sure the information I have is complete and correct, I would appreciate it, and I will work on getting your chronicles back to you within the next few days. I'm hoping to have them to you and get this campaign closed for everybody by the end of the week!
Thanks again for a great game! I look forward to playing with you all again soon!

Good news, everyone!
Here are you CHRONICLES!!!
Let me know if there are any issues with your chronicles, and I'll get those fixed up ASAP. I can tell you right off the bat that I forgot to check the CORE Campaign box in the upper right corner, but I did report the campaign as Core, so we should be alright as long as you know that the character you played is in the Core campaign.
If I don't hear about any issues, I'll plan to close the campaign this Friday.
Thanks again for playing, everyone!

YAY! Chronicles!
