Male Human Wizard 1

Cezar glares at Syliph as menacingly as a thirteen year old carrying a piglet can.

Celestial:

I won't be a part of extortion, Sister. Fix things, please.

He stands and turns away, mumbling quietly.
Please excuse me, I need fresh air. Mister Leroung, thank you for your time.
Cezar hurries out of the pub, Reem squealing quietly as he's squeezed a bit too hard in Cezar's rush.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Reaction from merchant to come in a bit; here's Mael and Eudomia's reactions:

Mael's very serious at the start of Silyph's speech; but as it goes on his mood seems to darken. When Silyph names the price of her extortion, Mael stands up and says gruffly, "I will not have a part in this. I will go to get those dragons out now." He looks very upset as he quickly walks out.

Eudomia looks a little uneasy with what's going on, though she stays, and stays silent.

Heh - my first post was after Cezar's initial reaction (which was subsequently changed).
Hathin will wait to see what the merchant says before giving his input...

Male Human Wizard 1

While outside of the pub, seeing Mael's exit, Cezar will follow him hurriedly.
Mael, what are you going to do? Can I help?

Yeah, sorry about that, decided to go a different way :P

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Vasile sits, mouth agape.

Celestial:
I don't think I can, frankly. It'll probably be best if we just leave, unfortunately.

I'm very sorry, Mister Leroung. I'm going to accompany the others, if you don't mind. This conversation no longer has a place for me.

Vasile will follow soon after Mael and Cezar leave.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Mael looks over to Cezar, and for a moment you see murderous anger in his eyes. However, he takes a moment to calm down and breathe once he gets outside. After a few moments, he says, "I will do the job. I will get paid the amount of money agreed upon. And I will not extort a man who agreed to pay me in good faith." He spits in the direction of the tavern before stalking away toward the warehouse.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

I'll wait to post for Pakak's reaction.

Male Human Wizard 1

Cezar cringes back at the look in Mael's eyes, dropping Reem to the ground.
While the Kelid boy leaves for the warehouse, Cezar stays there, taken aback and whispering quietly.
Please don't hurt them, we can get them to leave peacefully, right? He doesn't have to pay us, I'll keep the dragons safe...
His eyes are tearing up, his legs trembling.

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Vasile catches up shortly.

Celestial:
You doing alright? Where did Mael go?

I'm using Urdu for Celestial, if you don't mind.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Nice Celestial man!

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

I take it you don't mind, then. :P

Male Human Wizard 1

Sputtered between hiccups and whimpers of crying:
وہوہ. ڈریگن کرنے کے لئے جا رہے ہیں ... وہ کہتے ہیں کہ وہ کام مکمل کرنے کے لئے جا رہا ہے.

Celestial:

Mael...He's going to the dragons...He says he's going to complete the job...

Reem lies at Cezar's feet, looking just as worried as Cezar about the whole thing.
Piglet's understand common, dontcha know.
Also, I shall follow suit with the Urdu!

Female Elf Wizard Conjurer 1 (Infernal Binder)

Silyph looks suprised by her friends reactions and asks Eudomia "Mael wouldn't be foolish or suicidal enough to try and slay the dragonkin himself? Spilling their innocent blood after having their children taken from them, he's not that rash is he?"

given any reaction from Leroung...

"Not to say I won't work for you mister Leroung, but you sought a solution to a problem with cheap purse strings. A problem which itself was merely a symptom of a deeper cancerous rot within your hirelings. You've got the blood of baby pseudodragons on your hands and the broken dreams of pesh addicts at your feet, indirectly of course. I fathom you'll have to make ammends for such ill in any case and loosening your purse is at least a start." she looks sadly at her empty mug. "Seems us Impers have a habit of not only multiplying at the drop of a hat, but we're also seem to be equally skilled at dividing. We should correct that, but for now my drink is bare." she'll turn to go fetch another ale.

Must not click on spoilers. Diggin the Aribic, though.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

Pakak has listened quietly during all this. He listens to Silyph's words and tries to contain a look of disgust. Then finally states to Leroung, "You want the problem with the psuedodragons solved? The problem is your employees were killing their young in stupid blood sport. They want justice for that, but this city sees them as animals. We got the names of those men. Punish them, firing them only being a part of it, and the pseudos will be avenged and happier, if not happy and they'll move out of your hair...such as it is. I would say getting rid of a few men and teaching them a lesson about butchering the young is worth keeping whatever empire you have going. As for the money...."

He looks at Silyph, "I'll take 'just' my share what I was offered, and those employees fired and facing some sort of justice. Thanks all the same." He explains as he turns to their 'employer'" Now, that justice can be them behind bars for whatever crime you make up. That justice can be them getting flogged by other bully boys you hire, but it needs to be SOMETHING real." He looks at Mister Leroung again with a hard stare, "Think you can handle THAT price? "

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

The merchant is quite angered by Silyph's initial speech. It's written on his face that he does not intend to be taken for a ride by some uppity Academae student. After her second part, he laughs aloud and says, "Oh, so I should start being more noble by feeding you coin, eh? You're gonna lecture me about my wrongs as you seek to wring coins from me, eh?" He gets louder as he goes, though he stops himself short when Pakak intercedes.

He listens to Pakak, calming himself down as he carefully gauges what the half-orc is saying. When Pakak finishes, he tells him, "Well, I can assure you I had no idea my men had an underground fighting pit; I didn't even know about that trapdoor in this warehouse. Such things get lost to time, eh? If that's what the little winged rats want, then I'll fire the men. And if a certain Imper can keep herself away from the city guards," giving Silyph a cold glance, "then I can convince them the pesh smuggling was their doing, and get them locked up for a few years. Would this satisfy those lizards?"

"They've agreed to abide by what justice we can get. I think they want to move on from your warehouse anyway... once things are settled, and I'll encourage them to do that as well. I think they'll still have their grief, but they'll be satisfied. " Pakak looks to Silyph "And we're good on that. Right?"

Female Elf Wizard Conjurer 1 (Infernal Binder)

Silyph looks rather particularly bemused as the balding man gets riled up "You can't blame a girl for trying, now can you? as her fingers circle the edge of her mug.

She'll interject after Pakak speaks, "So you'll take care of the rest?" she sighs a little disappointed "I was hoping to get my hands a little dirty teaching your employees a more personal level the price that their betrayal of your trust brings, but I suppose if you'd rather go for the less creative approach....."

She frowns and mulls it over for a second or two "Then I suppose we're done here, since I expected we would be doing much more tedious further work on this job so my original estimate is a bit off now. I can guarantee picking up a 4 copper pinches tab on my next drink would stem any normal impulse of burdensome guilt or obligation I feel to the proper authorities."

She jokes "I hear ale does that, supposedly lowers a young girls inhibitions"

Diplomacy (if needed)
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Silyph leans back in her chair and notices Hathin still standing as imposing and silent as ever and tosses him a passing glance the expression on her face easy enough to read.....

'well it was worth a shot..'

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Though he is not as smiling and amused as Silyph, the merchant agrees to pay you guys the original amount, just as long as the pseudodragons are out by tomorrow. Irked by Silyph's continued forwardness, he nonetheless pays her tab, hoping to get her off his tail easily. He then concludes the meeting hastily, and leaves. By his muttering, you get the feeling that he won't be hiring you guys anytime soon. Nevertheless, his crony hands over the 240 gold pieces to Eudomia as you guys make to leave.

Outside the bar, Eudomia says, "Well, I guess we should return to the warehouse to finish this up."

Cezar and Vasile, after several minutes, you see the fat merchant exit hastily, followed after a bit by your fellow students.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

"Let's hurry and try to catch up to the others." Pakak makes haste. He plans to get to the pseudodragons

If the merchant looks to Hathin, he gets a feel that Silyph's words are her own - and there is a growing degree of animosity under the surface.

As the business with the merchant concludes, but before Silyph has a chance to stand, Hathin moves forward and lays a heavy hand on her shoulder - keeping her in her chair by downward force. He waits for the merchant to leave before growling at Silyph over her shoulder without making eye contact "You do not speak for me girl. Remember that before you pull kak like that again... or it may not be my tongue that reminds you. My life is not your plaything to gamble with." his forceful hand lingers for a few moments before he turns and leaves.

kak - Orcish swearword

He does not speak with Silyph afterwards, even if she seeks to engage him. Outside to Eudomia before moving after the others to the warehouse Hathin tells her "Keep your money, I'll see to no-one getting killed - but I'll have no part of the bloed geld."

bloed geld - Orcish for blood money

Male Elf (Kyoni) Wizard (Banisher) 1

I don't actually mind who reads my RP, since I trust you all to keep IC and OOC knowledge separate; just following the convention. Besides, I read all of yours, when I was just an audience member. ;)

Rogar Himstul:
Suleiyel appears fascinated. "So how does a dwarf, and a cleric of Torag at that, end up studying at a wizards' school known for the binding of devils?"

Male Human Wizard 1

Le gasp! You fiend! Next you'll say that you speak Celestial!

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Celestial, before classmates come out,:
Well, let's just hope Mael calms down a bit, then. I don't think there's much either of us could do to stop him, but I feel that he's got a good heart. I want to believe that we can get out of this without harming the pseuododragons, and without being harmed ourselves, but after Silyph's little act in there, I'm not sure either way.

Male Human Wizard 1

Celestial:

Yes, but I just...We're students, not mercenaries. I just went along with this because you seemed interested, and you always say that I need to make new friends.
I did not expect drugs and animal cruelty. Even Reem was scared of the things we heard.

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Celestial:
Frankly, I didn't think that there would be drugs or animal cruelty either. This seemed like something that we could do without much work, and that we could get some money to pay our tuition. I never thought that it would turn out quite like this, though. I'm sorry, Cez, for dragging you into this. I know you don't like things like this, and yet I pushed you into it anyway.

Male Human Wizard 1

Celestial:

I don't hate you for it, I just want to make sure that we don't get into this sort of thing again.
Though I do enjoy being around the others, it's nice to have friends...
Do you think we can go places with them more often? Pakak especially, he seems like such a kind person, and he uses his magic like I do.

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Celestial:
Well, hopefully we won't be in this situation again. You know I can't tell exactly how everything is going to turn out, but I'll try my hardest to make sure that it doesn't happen.

Yes, I like most of the others as well. Pakak is nice, and Hathin too. Silyph, however, I'm not a fan of. That little stunt she just pulled was too much.Eudomia seems nice enough, and Mael, I think, has a good heart.

Hopefully, we can hang out with the others. I sure would enjoy it, and I don't think they hold any grudge towards us for leaving. The circumstances were stressful, to say the least, during that meeting.

Male Human Wizard 1

Celestial:

Yeah, I'd be happy to spend more time with them. Do you think they would be against a study group...or something?
That's not childish, is it?

Cezar blushes brightly and smiles, leaning down to pick Reem up again.

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Celestial:
No, I don't think they'd be opposed at all. At least, I hope not. That'd be nice, you know? We could actually get to know them, instead of fighting them. I've been having a little trouble, anyway, so it couldn't hurt, right? And no, it's not childish.

Vasile leans against a wall, looking up into the sky, smiling.

Female Elf Wizard Conjurer 1 (Infernal Binder)

at the bar before they leave...

Silyph is pleased at getting the merchant to pay for her next drink takes a half hearted sip of it sharing any info on the names of those involved as is appropriate.

She's caught off guard by Hathin, "Oh? I'm sorry just trying to get us a better deal. I'd never think to gamble with your life if I've offended I apologize."

As Eudomia and Pakak leave the bar with her in tow leaving a majority of her drink unfinished she mentions "With a little more bit of luck and a stronger measure of solidarity that might have worked. The extra coin could have always been donated to a church to help those afflicted with Pesh addiction or paid for some sort of token for further reparation to the wronged dragonkin, if we where so inclined." she'll speak more directly towards Eudomia as they leave "I apologize if I was too forward I'm not one for hesitation when opportunity presents itself."

outside the bar...

Silyph cracks her knuckles lets out a light giggle that turns into a hic'up head still swimming with intoxicants and the rush of the heated situation 'that was considerably more fun then I thought it'd be' she thinks to herself. She adds to Eudomia's evaluation "Yes, I do believe we still have a few loose ends to tie, but before that....."

she walks over to Cezar with a measured aggressive stride that looks to be trouble before she surprisingly bows deeply staring at the ground and speaks "I apologize if I frightened you, I only sought to punish such a shortsighted man who made it a habit of cutting corners and was inept enough to hire sadists surely ever blinded by his own bottom line. I felt it only appropriate to attempt to bleed him of his precious coin as a measure of justice" she takes pause "........I have an unfortunate habit of......overreaching from my lowly station....and for that I apologize as well"

she lifts her head breaking from staring at the ground and looking him in the eye "I hope you accept my gracious apology."

While they walk she'll pull out the pesh she'd taken earlier and toss it in a nearby gutter it's usefulness as a prop having outlived it's purpose.

So.....much....squiggly [language I know nothing about]....must...not...click spoiler x.X

Edit: Ah I missed that thanks, figured he was outside with Cezar/Vasile. Need more coffee in the morning.

Edit 2: ARRgggg >_<, Urdu. Note to (SELF): put more ranks into linguistics. I like not clicking on spoilers.

Waltz, Mael is at the warehouse, not outside with Vasile and Cezar. Or at least, he left for the warehouse...DUN DUN DUN

Also - not Arabic, but Urdu a language widely spoken in Pakistan and India.

Hathin gives no sign that he listens to Silyph's apology, and does not linger outside the tavern - instead making for the warehouse at a brisk pace.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

You can look at the spoilers, as long as you don't act on the knowledge. And Cezar's right, Mael already left, and he's not there when you exit. Though Cezar and Vasile are.

Pakak does not slow down, taking long strides to get to the warehouse, whether others can keep up or not is their problem, but he does give brief voice as he walks, "Firstly, I probably saved your damn life, possibly all of our lives. Secondly, my not taking the 'extra' money you tried to get has nuthin' to do with finagling some stupid contract and everything to do with my personal sense of worth. That's not for sale, not for bargaining, and whatever else happens... 'I' set the price on that, nobody else. Coin just isn't enough for that sort of trade. I may have an ugly face, but at least I can look at the reflection of it in the morning without flinching. I don't intend to change that."

Hathin, what language were you using for orcish? There are other half-orcs, so you might be carrying conversations with them...

Suleiyel:
The dwarf smiles and says, "You'll find other dwarves 'asides me here, though I don' think any of them can claim ta be a priest of Torag."

"I'll admit, my decision ta come here wasn' well received in ma clan. Bu' I don' see it as contradictin'. Ya know, I don' see a reason tha' a priest can't learn some arcane magics as well. This place seemed as good a place as any ta learn. An' I don' particularly mind tha' others find me choice less desirous." Put it in the OOC as well, but it's Afrikaans - a derivation of dutch that is spoken by white South Africans. A nice hard sounding language.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Cool. I'll keep it in mind.

Male Human Wizard 1

When approached by the elf, Cezar's expression goes a bit blank, and his eyes stare off, which is very odd for anybody who knows the child.
Bring no harm to the innocent, even if the corrupt are trying. Blood for blood only leads to fear. Fear leads to retaliation. Retaliation leads to loss. Loss leads to regret. Regret leads to Blood. Do not perpetuate things that will only end in you being caught in it.
Without waiting for a response, Cezar follows after Pakak hurriedly.

Feel free to read through them, they're not that interesting :P

Female Human Wizard(Evoker) 1

Vasile looks towards Silyph for a short while, but soon follows Cezar and Pakak to the warehouse.

Female Elf Wizard Conjurer 1 (Infernal Binder)

Silyph mulls over Cezars having trouble obviously having trouble grasping the sage like wisdom imparted in the smalls childs words "Forgive me; but I hardly see a man that holds the slackened leash of a rabid dog as innocent, but I suppose that's a matter of opinion."

Nah, that's cool I prefer to keep things OOC knoweledge to a minimum it's simply easier.

As they walk Silyph mentions to Pakak "Fair enough and if it's any consolation I don't find your face ugly and those that would say so are but small minded fools." ever cheerful given events and the ominous specter of whatever rash decisions Mael may be making.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

Pakak picks up the pace, muttering in Orcish to himself Though others might hear with a decent perception check "Mooi, maar nou, ek is nie oorweeg jy die siel van &'n goeie oordeel."

Orcish:
Nice, but right now, I'm not considering you the soul of good judgment."

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

You all arrive at the warehouse after a while and find Mael standing outside waiting. There is a tension in the air as everyone wants to know what he did. Finally, Mael breaks it by saying, "I told the dragons they can leave, as we have ensured justice. I have convinced them that we will make sure the merchant follows through with his punishments. Our job is complete."

"Thank you" Pakak says, "I talked to our...employer." he says distastefully, not liking their 'boss' of the moment at all, "No ...questionable coin here. Just what we agreed on before hand. I do want to talk to the Psuedos myself though before I go. Let them know where to find me in case someone goes vengeful on them."

He'll move into the warehouse

"Then I better hurry." and in he goes.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Pakak finds the warehouse much as he left it earlier. Looking up to the ceiling, he doesn't see any sign the pseudodragons are still there. However, after a moment, he does hear a soft sound coming from the rafters, which slowly grows louder. He recognizes it as the sound of a pseudodragon, though he doesn't know which rafter it comes from or what the noise is precisely (scream, wail, talking, laughter, etc).

Female Elf Wizard Conjurer 1 (Infernal Binder)

Silyph is surprised at their brevity "Shouldn't we not give their deceased kin a proper burial?"

She'll follow Pakak as quick as her feet will carry her.

Male Half-dork 5 Nerd (universalist)

Mael ponders Silyph's question, and says, "It is not their custom to bury their dead, though I agree that it would be good to do." With that Mael will follow into the warehouse after Pakak.

Male Dwarf Wizard (Abjurer)-9 (Mythic Archmage 2)(Current HP 54/62)

Pakak will look for a ladder, or barring that, a way to pile boxes to head up to the rafters and see what's up. Then head straight to the sound, pretty heedless of any danger.

Celestial:
See? I told you he had a good heart. I figured he'd come to his senses, and not harm them. He probably gave it a long, hard, thought, and realized that it wasn't their fault. He's a good kid, I'm sure of it. Not as good as you, of course, but good nevertheless.

If you don't want to be present for the burial, I understand.
