Ready to move on. I prefer a party size of 5, but I could live with 4 as long as we have at least one tanky front liner. Do you prefer 4, is that what the module is written for? Are we staying at 4 because of a temporary player loss?

GM Abraham |

The module is written for 4 but I don't mind adding another player if you all wish. If so, I'll make a recruitment post.
We are losing a player because Pirate Rob (Otto Boulderspine) has played the other levels (at least up to level 10) and was just jumping in for this one because he had missed it when he played through previously. So, without an addition the party will be: Alchemist, Paladin/Oracle, Paladin, Ranged Bard.
When I played it we had parties of 6 and we steamrolled a lot of it (but we also had some strong optimizers among us). I do think that it will get more challenging as you go deeper.

4 is OK if that iw what you prefer. I just have a soft spot for the number 5 in PBP. To me it seems to work the best. 4 is a bit scary as it doesn't take as much bad luck for a party of 4 to get TPKed.

![]() |

Also, please don't forget to write in a hex for me? I'm picking up Hex E so we all have a country estate to chill in instead of a in. :)

GM Abraham |

I very much appreciate the opportunity to fill in my gaps. I'm closing in in all scenarios/modules played for PFS1.
Impressive!

GM Abraham |

Ok, chronicles are just about done. I only need:
Romulus: PFS #, faction, day job, normal/slow track. I've noted that you want Hex E.

I'll post in the recruitment thread and see if anyone wants to join us. May be a bit thin now due to Gameday.
Edit: just done so.

Yeah, I am all for continuing.

# 176948-15, Grand Lodge, Still unsure whether i'm suppose to do normal or slow, so just put me down for what i'm suppose to be to keep using this character through all the spire, and Perform (Percussion): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

GM Abraham |

I'll put you down for normal track. Either way you are going to be slightly off the expected xp track for this level (which would have been: slow track full rewards: 1.5 xp); instead you'll get normal track partial rewards: 1.0 xp, but it shouldn't matter much over the long haul.

GM Abraham |

Responses to my post in the Recruitment thread so far:
* a halfling cavalier (beast rider) 4 and his faithful wolf-steed Lady ||| OR ||| fighter (lore warden) 1/investigator (empiricist) 2
* another Alchemist, but they use the Metamorph archetype, which replaces... basically everything with shapeshifting
Any preferences? I'm ok with adding both players if you are all amenable.

![]() |

5 is still my fav, but I hate to say no to anyone :)

GM Abraham |

Chronicles are available here. This is the first time I'm sharing chronicles using this method so please let me know if you have any difficulties (or, of course, if there's anything mistaken with your chronicle).

![]() |

No real opinion here.

![]() |

GM Abraham, I think you should decide. I have an opinion but it is vastly trumped by the 'make the GM happy' rule.

![]() |

Ooooh! May I check out your recipes?

![]() |

Literally not a one of 'em. Metamorph trades out bombs and extracts and mutagens. Then gives you back mutagens at the same level you'd get it anyways. I'm sure there's a reason...
Also, hello again Yanda! We went through... Tome of Righteous Repose together iirc.

![]() |

Ah, hello. Thanks for the reminder!

![]() |

In dungeon crawls Shabah usually shows up in this alias, so no worries :-p
Mmm... Do need to update this one actually.
I don't think I've got a lot of purchases or anything though (maybe a Cloak upgrade?), so once you guys are set, I'm happy to get started :-)

![]() |

Welcome, Shabah!
Also, I think I'm set up. Without a level up, things go quicker. :-) All I did was enchant my (already masterwork) armour and buy a replacement shield. :-)

GM Abraham |

Yep, I'll post a wrap up from the previous level and get us started on the next one hopefully soon.

GM Abraham |

For those who may be curious, this was essentially a puzzle level.
Remove the 8 doors found throughout the level from their hinges and insert them into the big slots on the Godbox. They are made of a special alloy that doesn't trigger its magnetism. How you are supposed to know this is not at all clear (and when I played it we never came close to figuring it out). Worse, if you do turn off the Godbox, you release its magnetic hold (giving you a bunch of treasure that is currently stuck to it), but you also send the poor troglodytes into a rage, the only solution to which is to murder them. Needless to say, this is probably as controversial (to put it mildly) an adventure as I've ever seen from paizo. The good news is that the rest of the Spire is much more of what you'd traditionally expect from a dungeon crawl.

GM Abraham |

Everyone, please update your information on slides 2 and 3. Shabah, please add a token for yourself on slide 2 and on the map on slide 1, and be sure to add the info for your saves/init/perception on slide 2. Also, if you have a familiar or companion, please add tokens and the same info for them as well.
Although this level is one that is normally recommended for slow tracking, instead I recommend that you do normal track. Assuming no further xp losses as you go along, this should have you on track to remain in tier for the remainder of the Spire. The only exception to this would be if the 1 xp you received for Godhome would cause you to go up a level. You can see the acceptable level tiers for each level on slide 4. Let me know if any of this is unclear. Basically, if you are now at 3.1, 4.1, or 5.1, if you do normal track for this level you should be 4.1, 5.1, or 6.1 at the end of it, which will set you up for the next level, which is tier 4-6.

![]() |

No major purchases or changes from me so Yanda is good to go.

GM Abraham |

Romulus, when you get a chance please fill in your details on slide 3. It makes filling out the chronicle sheets at the end much easier for me.

![]() |

Moving the power attack discussion tot he discussion thread...
I've always seen it played where the player may choose which attack to turn it on for, but the attacks following that particular attack are all under the power attack. So the player COULD choose to make that first attack normal, but the second one and all attacks following it be power attacks. That being said, It's a statement of experience, not an argument.

GM Abraham |

Sorry for the posting delay, everyone. I went to visit my family and found I had less free time than I thought I would. Should be returning to a more normal posting schedule now.

![]() |

Extremely sorry. Typhoon Hagibis has get me scrambling go get some things handled here but I hope to be back on stable posting tomorrow.

![]() |

Hey guys.
I don't want to drop off the face of the earth without letting you guys know that, yes I'm okay but no, I really don't have the time to regularly check up on the forums because my life has gotten to busy for me to have the reliable bandwith. I'm sorry to disappoint, I thought I would be able to handle it, but I just can't. I'm sorry.

GM Abraham |

Completely understand - real life happens - but please clarify what you want to do - drop from the game entirely?

![]() |

Just a heads up, I started to dictate today but my throat is in terrible shape. Been coughing a bit the last few days from allergies/minor cold. I will post ASAP. Sorry!
Please bot me for the moment. Should only be a day or two.

GM Abraham |

Understand completely! Please prioritize your health and don't worry about the gameplay - we'll be here when your health allows it. Hope you feel better soon!
Anyone want to take charge of botting Dasus for now?

![]() |

Sure. Yanda is going to be mostly useless if she cannot bomb anything anyway.

GM Abraham |

Sure. Yanda is going to be mostly useless if she cannot bomb anything anyway.
Yeah, I'm afraid this may be a tough level for you. It's a tough level regardless - when I played it the only thing that saved us from a TPK was that we ran out of time (it was at a convention).

GM Abraham |

Sorry for the long delay, everyone. The holiday week got the better of me. Should be returning to a more normal schedule now.

GM Abraham |

Fyi, that was three different encounters of this level. Those of you who played Splinterden (level 3) may be getting the impression that I like chaining encounters together but I promise I had no intention of turning this into another epic months-long encounter - it just turned into that on its own!

![]() |

There is that closet. I'd rather get back to it after the mutagen has worn off but knowing Pathfinder scenarios there may be potions of water breathing in there or something.

GM Abraham |

I'll be GM-ing the conclusion of Eyes of the Ten all day tomorrow - likely won't be able to post again until Sunday or Monday.

![]() |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Cool. Hope you all have lots of fun.

![]() |

Sorry for my lack of posting, I'm still dealing with a case of laryngitis that just isn't going away, which of course makes dictation difficult/impossible. (I seem to get sick every year around this time.)
Please continue to bot as necessary.

GM Abraham |

Hey I'm just glad to hear that you are ok (or ok-ish, I guess I should say). Hang in there and know that I'm sending good thoughts in your direction! And we'll continue to bot you as needed.

GM Abraham |

Also, perhaps I shouldn't say this, but this fight worries me for y'all. Don't hold back. And you may want to review chronicle boons etc. for any extra help.
