Don’t forget your fly checks if you are trying to stay in place (hovering is a DC 15, you get a +2 from the spell.)
Based on this FAQ, I believe we should get a +4 bonus for the good maneuverability from the spell as well.
Flight and Magical Flight: Can a paralyzed or stunned creature keep flying with magical flight? Does a creature with magical flight not apply bonuses or penalties to Fly checks because it doesn’t have a “natural” fly speed? Does flying make a creature immune to being flat-footed?
No, any creature that loses all actions can’t take an action to attempt a Fly check to hover in place and thus automatically falls. That includes a paralyzed, stunned, or dazed creature. Magical flight doesn’t act any differently, even for paralysis, as it isn’t a purely mental action. A creature with 0 Dexterity can’t fly, and paralysis sets a creature’s Dexterity to 0. Despite the fact that the Fly skill mentions that bonuses and penalties from maneuverability apply to creatures with natural fly speeds, they apply for any fly speed. If they didn’t apply to creatures that gained flight artificially or through magic, then those maneuverabilities (like the listed good maneuverability for the fly spell) would have no game effect. Finally, the statement “You are not considered flat-footed while flying” means that flying (unlike balancing using Acrobatics or climbing) doesn’t automatically make you flat-footed or force you to lose your Dexterity bonus to AC; it doesn’t mean that flying makes you immune to being caught flat-footed.

I for some reason completely missed the "and your manuverability is good" section, despie scanning the spell for it. Yes you would get the +4 as well!
Thank-you for the FAQ, I hadn't realized that the spell would not keep Kaya aloft after she started bleeding out. Someone should probably go and grab Kaya before she falls out of the sky and dies.

WELP. If nothing else, it'll make for a great story? :D I'm so glad I at least made the stabilize roll. @_@
And thanks for letting me use the BoH @___@

I'll be going for a short vacation from Fri to Sun. I'll likely only be able to check my games intermittently so please bot where necessary, and sorry for any inconvenience caused...
For the rest of the combat, the lantern archon will keep shooting its light beams at the demon. (It lasts for 6 min, in case more demons appear.) Takumi will walk over and tap the last person that needs healing with a wand of infernal healing. Then for the rest of the combat, he'll shoot the demon with his wand of magic missile. Not likely to clear the SR though.

I am also going to have a more busy than normal Friday today, anda asked for someone to cover if they could. It seems our illustrious and very efficient organizer Shifty will be covering for a bit! I should be back about this time tomorrow!

GM Fuzzfoot |

Hello all - tagging in for Sedoriku and Shifty for a few days. I think I am caught up to speed on the action.

![]() |

Did Kahru get skipped in round 4?

GM Sedoriku |

... Yes it looks like you were skipped. You two can act if you want. I've been having enemies pop in mid-round but technically they are supposed to appear at the beginning of each round, so Red brimorak would not be on the map yet.

![]() |

If it wouldn't be on the map then Kahru wouldn't have had much to do anyway. It only really matters for post-rage fatigue accounting.

GM Sedoriku |

We got enough successes (the high level tables were tearing through enemies at a breakneck pace) to accomplish an Overwhelming Victory! Congratulations! Instead of dragging things on, Shifty decided to cut the special short a few days. I was hoping we could get enough for one more success, but it ended a little earlier than I had expected.
I will be getting chronicle sheets together in the next few days!

![]() |

Thank you for running the game! c: I'll probably shelve Kaya for a bit and brush up on rogues before employing her again. Going from mostly spellcasters to rogues definitely messed with me a bit. @_@
I did have an awesome time! :3

![]() |

Thank you for a fun game, Sedoriku!

GM Sedoriku |

I forgot! We can possibly get a boon from this! I'm a little late in getting this together, so I'll give everyone a chance to roll, but I will be rolling for everyone after 12 hours if people haven't gotten back by then. If you get a 19 to a 20, please roll a 1d4 and PM me your email.
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Sigh no luck for me.

Any update on chronicle sheets?

GM Sedoriku |

Any update on chronicle sheets?
YES! They are here! Apologies for the wait, I had significantly less time in front of my computer at home to work on these than I had expected. But they ended up taking less time then I had planned on them taking as well, oops. Let me know if there are any problems with the sheets at all!
Otherwise I was actually looking at character last names and a few questions popped out at me. I live in Japan and have studied Japanese a bit and I really wanted to ask the basis for some of these names. First, the 'kami' in Kamizo is 'paper' I am assuming, but the zo part has me stumped. There's quite a few options but none of them seemed to fit.
Next, Zyneste, is the 'Daiku' of your last name meant to mean 'carpenter'? It's the first thing I think of when I saw your last name.
Yoshida is a good and not unusual last name in Japan, but is there a meaning behind the Kaya portion.
Finally if anyone else wants to elaborate on the reason or meaning behind their name, I'd love to hear it! Reasons and ways of naming characters is something I find to be somewhat interesting, just I can only really have a clue of what it can mean when it's of Japanese origins (or English of course).
I'll be closing the thread down in 72 hours from this post or when the last person indicates they have received their chronicle, which ever takes longer. Again sorry for the wait, and I hope to see you guys around somewhere.

Ah! I totally forgot to do my reroll for day job. If it is not too late...

Haha, while I do know some Japanese, Takumi's name is kind of hacked together. Kamizo, the family name, is meant to be "紙像", i.e. paper sculpture, derived from "彫像" (sculpture) or chozo. Although I doubt it is a proper valid Japanese word, especially with "紙" the traditional Japanese pronunciation and "像" from the later Chinese-derived pronunciation. (Forgot what's the terminology for this.) Anyway, the idea is that he is from a long family line which specialises in paper sculpture, i.e. origami.
As for his name, Takumi is "匠", or artisan, which embodies his family's wish for him to carry on and expand the family trade. So it is a bit of scandal that he not only dropped that to learn magic, but corrupted the craft by incorporating it into something as crude as magic.

Kaya's name is derived from the yew tree. :) I thought it would be appropriate for someone that was looking to be a rogue for better to have a name that would reflect both sides of that particular coin since yew trees symbolize both life and death.
It was pretty exciting to have as many Japanese-derived cultures in one game! ^o^

Kahru Kuun is Finnish for Bear Moon. I tend to pick a two-word phrase that describes my character, then play around in Google Translate until I find something that sounds appropriate for that character.

Eugressia is just a made-up name. Biogon is because of the Biogon lens.

Zyneste's surname is her married name, which she retained from her now departed husband who was of Tian ancestry.
I derived it from the word daikyū, which is apparently a name for a type of Japanese longbow.

Ah, that makes sense! It'd probably never be a Japanese name as useing the 'on-yomi', Chinese pronunciation, and 'kun-yomi' in the same word is very rare and unusual, especailly for names. But this is a annalogous culture so it really doesn't matter (and I don't think the Tian-Min (Golarion's Japan) even had something like importing the charaters of another culture and deriving a pronunciation from it.)
I've seen "匠" around before but I never knew what it meant. And it is very fitting for Takumi as well!

A yew? I probably could have looked that up, haha. But it was nice to see so many Japanese inspired characters as well. It's why I decided to use Hiko as an introductory character.

I had been curious about the Biogon. When I was typing up the chronicles my mind initially changed it to 'boron' as in the gas. But the name of a lens fits just as well if not better!

Oh, it's from '大弓'(daikyū), that makes a bit more sense than '大工' (daiku), or carpenter. I'd thought maybe Zyneste's husband ahd been from a humble background, but a bow user is much more appropriate!

Name origins are just a lot of fun to get into! c:
Anyways, I snagged my chronicle sheet. Thank you so much for the fun game! ^o^

Hiyas - GM could you kindly kick me out of your thread? Slowly reclaiming my gameplay page from the bajillion games I am currently still in after the multitable extravaganza :)
Had I not kicked you out yet? Whoops! There you go!

Sedoriku, can you either remove me or mark this thread inactive? I'm about to have ~20 more games on my list once the next special starts up and I want to clear as many off before that as I can.
