This is my recruitment thread for a run of SFS Scenario 1-01, The Commencement, to commence on January 11, 2019.

Game Expectations
I ask for a posting rate of 1-2 times per day during the business week and at least once over the weekend, though I realize (and expect) that real life can get in the way of fun at times and that not all players will be able to meet that pace. I also expect folks to occassionally be unavailable for a period of time. If I know that I will be unavailable for some reason for more than 24 hours (or 48 over a weekend), I will post such. I request and expect all players to do the same.

I will bot players who do not post anything within a 24 hour period (or over a weekend) and will request each player have botting instructions in place before the end of the first briefing.

Assuming we have the minimum number of players by then, I plan to start on January 11th with preliminaries and get into the first mission sometime January 14th.

Play-Style
Although there will be opportunities for role-play, expect things to move quickly. I will likely use GM rolls for Initiative, Perception, and a number of other checks. Expect players rolls to primarily be limited to combat.

As a Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild player, you must register your name and your characters online at paizo.com/organizedplay/MyAccount.

When you register, you’ll receive an official organized play number; this is the same as your Pathfinder Society Number if you’re already part of the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild. Thus, if you already have a Pathfinder Society Number, your SFS# is that number -701 (as this is your first SFS PC.

More info about registering and choosing factions can be found in the Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide found here. If you haven't already, I highly suggest you becomee familiar with the guide, which has rules for creating your character as well as information on choosing factions. There is also information on boons in the guide. The page link above also has a number of useful links, one of which is for a pretty sweet boon for your first Starfinder character, so I recommend heading over there.

We have at least a few days before we get started (perhaps an entire week).

Hey all.

I have been wanting to try Starfinder for a while, and this might be the best way to give it a go. I wouldn't mind putting my bid in, if you still have room. Just have to sort out a character to play.

I'm currently an active player in my PFS chapter, but don't have one for SFS. This may be the best way for me to break the mold/ice/etc. :)

@Blaydsong - We have a full table already, so I will put you on my mental wait list. I believe I will have the bandwith to run two, separate tables, so I will keep recruitment open and see if we can't get two tables with at least 4 PCs each going.

If you need a player to make the table happen I'll scraggle together a level 1. I'll keep an eye on this thread to keep updated.

In the meantime, I'll get myself more familiar with the SFS guide and see what I want to do. My immediate thought is to play a Solarian, but beyond that I'm not sure.

With Saashaa, we have enough for two tables. I've re-posted over at Flaxseed to see if we can't get a few more players.

Though my track record over all has been pretty good, I've unfortunately had enough players (and also a GM) disappear on me during PbP games the past few months to make me willing to wait until we have more than a table minimum before proceeding.

Might behove us to split the current group, as we have only 1 frontline (an operative) and 5 squishies currently. So over abundance of skills, low on the combat side. If the second party leans the other way, we might want to even it out.

I have a gm credit to make a 2nd level character so I'll roll up a profile and a stat block in the next day or 2 but my concept for Claude is a power armor using halfling who doesn't have his power armor yet haha.

Just updated the character sheet with a proper stat-block. Not sure what else is needed, but that should provide all the basics, at the least.

If you are unable or don't have the time, please don't offer to play anyway. Players who do not have the time for PbPs are the biggest bane of PbPs.

Sorry to lose friendly sauce for this run, but it is good to know one's limits.

You are not "needed" in the sense that we have 10 other players, but I'd be happy to have you take a seat at one of the tables. At first blush, at least, it appears that most skill sets/combat types are covered, so feel free to bring anything you would like.
