You have to do salve master 1st as finarin will ding 8 after his next scenario.

Track 1: Drongos:
- Slave Masters Mirror (3-7)
- Technic Siege (5-9)
- Heresy of Man 1-3 (5-9, right?)

Track 2: Slayers
- on hold until SMM finishes.
- Enigma Vaults (3-5 - characters finish as level 5-6)
- Dark Menagerie (4-6 - characters finish at level 6-7)
- Something to get characters to level 7 -- or just move into Sanctum
- Sanctum of a Lost Age (6-8)

I think those tracks look good Jack!

And I would prefer to do SMM first anyways, but John is right. (we just need to get wardstone patrol finished so I can use Pooka) I can switch to Cyrus after SMM and go slow track, or possibly use Pooka for Technic Siege also, depending on what Bob's Beasts decide to do.

How much of the Slayers track can be run as a PbP Gameday game? It would be cool to get credit for a few more games we are playing. :)

Looks good to me... except my plan is to only run First Steps for the alts. The three parter I talk about is:

1. First Steps: In Service to Lore (still sanctioned and 100% replayable at 1st level)
2. First Steps: To Delve the Dungeon Deep (no longer sanctioned for credit)
3. First Steps: A Vision of Betrayal (no longer sanctioned for credit)

Wounded Wisp and the Confirmation would be run by whoever is running the Drongos... mostly when we run out of in-tier scenarios to play from season 6 & 7 (which will happen more often as we level up).

I'm NOT going to be GMing 3 games simultaneously on a regular basis.

John, you are running 7-04 for PbP Game Day 4?

I had it que'd up - didn't realize we had SMM. We can always save it for a rain day.

Jyri, that's amazing and I love that you built a toon that was an actor from the Six Trials of Larazod, and using that for your backstory is brilliant. Super neat!

What a glorious moment to be online, catching all of the cross-thread pollination and hilarity.

My wife is making food (Monster cookies!) for our tailgate tomorrow (Go Michigan State!) and I am in the office, laughing nearly to the point of tears.

Best.

Group.

Ever.

There does seem to be a lot of love going on in these forums tonight :)

I'm on the dunny having a similar experience. Almost time to put the PbP away, though. I'm sure Chris B will have dived through and posted on all the threads by morning so we can move on. ;-P

I spend way too much time doing this sh*t.

Thanks! The character idea came live quite strong from the beginning. I haven’t played the AP, but browsed through the first two books. And the Six Trials of Larazod -part sounded awesome.

@Silbeg: When do you plan to start the Slave Master’s Mirror? I have a local game on thursday where I was planning to play with Amaranti. Would that fit the schedule?

PbP Gameday 4 games can't start until September 19 (officially) so I'd say go for it! Unless of course Silbeg decides to remove it from the Gameday so he can run it sooner.

I must be f*cking insane for running a game like this. I think Painlord got to me at GenCon. If you have any more friends who want in on PbP, send them my way (and PM me with their forum handle so I know they're friends of yours!).

Why do I feel so OLD today?

Oh, yeah... I turned 49. Sheesh. My beard's gonna be the same color as my avatar soon!

Heh. Simultaneous cry for attention from Jack and I. Love it.

Happy Birthday Jack!

And 'beard'? Dude, tell me you haven't grown out that amazing handlebar mustache of yours!

Jack Happy birthday! Am I wrong that you and I are the only ones over 40 in this crew? Sucks.

Damien I soooooo want to join that game. What a trip down memory lane that is.

To join the game, you'd need to create a new main message board alias, join the PFS under this new identity and then post on the recruitment thread.... and not tell me that's what you've done.

But then now player who is new to PbP would miss out on the chance to get some experience playing a scenario online. You wouldn't want to deprive @GreenRecruitNo6 that chance now, would you? Well would you?

Also (and I know I've said this before), but with all the young folks playing on the boards, it's amazing - just amazing - that I somehow recruited older folks for first game I ever ran. Just... wow.

Happy birthday, good sir!

And so it begins...

...there's a hole in your mind.

No. Wait. Wrong genre. I blew it. Okay anyway so... *sigh*

Damien suggested I start dwelling on this PbP elite group for more fun times. Granted, the recently finished Wardstone Patrol is one of the best PbP games I've played, but I think that's only because the majority tend to be subpar.

You all know me already, Damien made my name known some months back. ;) But you don't know a thing about me! I'll start my introduction, but include it only in a spoiler tag in case you do not wish to read it!

Biography:

I'm 29 years old, I live in Tampere, Finland, and I have a wife and a two-year-old daughter. That's enough personal info.

When it comes to roleplaying I've almost exclusively played only D&D-esque games, D&D 3.0, D&D 3.5, D&D 4 (couple of games only), PFRPG, and only a few sessions of other genres and settings, actually much to my dismay. Problem always was that there weren't lots of players who knew other settings and systems and would stick around to run those other systems for more than just two sessions.

So I started all this Dungeons & Dragons mumbo-jumbo back in, 2002 I think, when I was 16. I think it was only one or two years from that when I encountered Living Greyhawk at the major Nordic roleplaying convention, Ropecon. I became one of the active players, but didn't run more than maybe 5 games, and sadly I have almost no recollection about the games and sessions I played back then (and I had a lvl 11 character, that took 55 adventures, damnit!). Shame, because I have heard that the games I played featured very sophisticated plots and intrigue.

Alas, then Living Greyhawk was about to end but fortunately Paizo had caught up on the news and announced Pathfinder Society. I was the first onboard and surely, if you want to dig, you'll find a LOT of my posts from 2008 and 2009 mainly criticizing everything Joshua J. Frost did and didn't do. From the very start we had a problem about running games; very few players were willing to hold games, and at the end of Season 0 there were maybe two active game masters in the region. And it didn't help that the scenario back then SUCKED. So much, in fact, that after playing Drow of the Darklands Pyramid the whole Finnish PFS scene died. Completely. No one cared anymore, it was so bad no one thought there's any coming back from suckery so deep.

It was in June 2010 when our previous venture-captain, very active Finnish RPG consultant in all things related to RPGs Jukka Särkijärvi (NiTessine) picked up a few games and ran them for tables of 7 players. In case you're wondering, what revived the PFS scene was Before the Dawn—Part I: The Bloodcove Disguise. The scene quickly got up on its feet again, but soon faced the familiar problem; no GMs. I, actually, was the only GM for quite a while, until *finally* the local students' RPG club picked up on PFS. Players started pouring in, and many of them soon began to run games.

Fun fact: I actually applied to be the venture-captain of Finland, since no one else had applied before. I guess my timing was ill-suited, as I didn't get a rejection nor an acceptance; I think Mark Moreland was holding the wheel alone at that time. Croatia did get their venture-captain so, and he sent his application almost at the same time! *suppressed jealousy* Then again I've sent some three scenario/quest submissions and haven't heard of them since. So if you ask me, the whole open call thing is a bait for the desperate.

In the local scene I am—well, so I imagine at least—a controversial figure. I'm loud, both in chat and person, and passionate (or whiny, depending on whom you ask) about accuracy of the rules and lore in scenarios. Needless to say I find "critical errors" in nearly all of them, most being benign, some being oversights done by the author, and some being horrible editing mistakes that can affect the outcome of the scenario drastically. I also have a serious dislike towards what I call "battle rooms"; a series of combats held in individual rooms, where the other encounter doesn't react to the happenings on the other side of the wall.

Another fun fact: Did you know that the original version of #6 Black Waters had an allip on tier 1-2, back when the game was played with D&D 3.5? I made a post, fitting to my younger years of misguided rage, about the allip, and within a day a new version was available for download. And no, sadly I haven't got the original Black Waters anywhere.

So there was some talk about playing some Season 5 Mendev things all around, and initially I had thought about putting my weird tengu oracle on the line, but it appears he is reserved for the gameday special. I have very little to offer to the range of 3-7; Delzden, a subpar meteor hammer tripper, and Devon, a halfling gunslinger. I do have a human ranger at level 4, but I'm hesitant to post anything publicly under his name. I don't want to downplay him but... I'm sure someone somewhere will get offended by his antics.

Heh. Nice Bio, Deussu! I actually went through to all of those links. Awesome to know you've been around on the PFS scene for longer even than Jack (our soon-to-be 5 star GM).

I grew up in Mildura (rural Australia) so you can imagine how much organized roleplay happened there! Nice to finally be in the USA where this kind of thing happens with regularity. Even then, I can only make it to the local gamedays occasionally, but still. Awesome.

Also...

Classy. Real classy. Tell some impressionable dude that he needs to play more with new players and get out of his "superstar shell" and then this dude does exactly that, a lot... and now you deny all responsibility. I demand a paternity test!

If all the games I play in had been on par according to my standards, they would all be "one of the best". Granted, there are many factors that contribute to the game session being a success, one of the most crucial demands being the detailed description of one's actions. Too often it's the generic "Character x moves over to enemy y and swings his/her/its sword."

You played it last November at Frostbite, right? There's absolutely nothing good about the scenario.

Except...:
THUGMAR!

Male Human Engineer/4 (ding!)

I've played D&D for something in the neighborhood of 25 years now, off and on, though I checked out for a while when they tried to switch to 4.0. I never payed attention to 3PP, so I had actually never heard of Paizo until I was introduced to pathfinder a couple years ago.

My first intro to PFS was a little over a year ago, near the end of season 5, so I have very little experience with season 0 stuff, other than what I have heard from other people. - I did play Black Waters with Cyrus. I remember being very surprised when the scenario was over. It was like watching a 2 hour movie that just ends after 1 hour, wondering what the heck just happened.

I'm glad the PFS scene has revived, I really enjoy it. I have swung back in my preferences to "unchained" adventuring, due primarily in part to how much fun our ROW game has been, and the amazing start to the Isle of Dread.

Glad the evil drow didn't kill off the entire scene over there forever... :)

Damo! I am totally digging what you are doing with your confirmation game for newbies. Soooo awesome.

I have refrained more than once from posting in the gameplay thread with Cyrus for the fun of it.... Especially since he went through the confirmation as his very first scenario also.

Nice work. And thanks for the extra reading material. :)

Ha! I'm stoked that you're reading along with it and like it, too! It's funny how quickly you come to make judgement calls on the various players as they join in on a game like that.

Some ask questions that show they clearly haven't read the guide, and that annoys me. Some post using formatting that doesn't match everyone else's or the guides at all, and that annoys me. Some ask questions that are answered in the OP, and that annoys me even more.

... but I have to put all that aside (if I can) because they're new to PbP and the whole point is to help them out with that kind of stuff. It's really hard. On the very positive side, at least two of them have found the 'secret' question... unlike some (who take a year or more).
