Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

Whatever you guys want (John, Chris B, Jyri). I will run that tier, and then advertise the other three seats.

Just remember that those characters will be tied up longer than the typical scenario, because of the way they will be doing it (timed, etc).

Male Halfling Bard/1

I have a Fighter 3 that is ready to go. Otherwise I will stat up my level 2 guy that has never been played but has the We Be Goblins Too and Snows of Summer chronicles.

Slot B: PFS 6-97 – Siege of Serpents [November 5th, 2015 to December 20th, 2015]

So I have a Paladin GM blob that I could use, Level 2

Liberty's Edge

Since I want to keep Amaranti available for Drongos, I have characters on levels 1,2,4,9,10

Looking at Chris' and John's characters, I think the tier is either 1-2 or 3-4.

Is this a multi-table special?

Male Human Engineer/4 (ding!)

Just need to take a moment to sort our games out for my own benifit, and figured I would type it out in case it helps you fine gentlemen as well.

Current Games that involve some or all of us:

Reign of Winter - Misfits - GM Damo
Temple of Enlightenment - Slayers - GM Silbeg
Wounded Wisp - New group with MN crew - GM Silbeg
Seige of Serpents - Everyone who didn't make it to Gen Con - GM Silbeg
Haunting of Hanojai - Occult Pregens - GM BobJones

Pending:

Wardstone Patrol - Bob's Beasts - GM BobJones
Enigma Vaults - Slayers - GM Silbeg
Technic Seige - Drongos - GM Silbeg
Slave Master's Mirror - Drongos?? - GM ???

Whew. Now I feel better. Temple is finishing up soon, Just want to throw out there that you could totally take a break from the slayers before starting the vaults if you want, your name is on most of the games listed there.

John - You mentioned earlier in this thread you would be willing to start Wardstone patrol back up. I just wanted to point out that I am willing, if you are willing to run both games (and the rest of the players are willing to take on the extra load). Or we can wait until Haunting is finished.

When the Drongos pick back up, I think I would like to use Pooka in place of Cyrus to allow the rest of the group to catch up to level 8. Particularly if we decide to run Slave Master's Mirror... Technic seige is 5-9, so Pooka might have to play out of Tier, but I am ok with that.

Hopefully that helps everyone else wrap their heads around our activity, I know it helped me.

@Karma, yes multi-table special. Jesse (Online V-C) has not posted the rules for GMing this, so I can't tell you how it will all work out.

@PapaSteve -- it looks like Jyri would need to be the one running (he's played it, and I have not). I could run, but that might be a little... overkill... for me. As for Slave Master's Mirror, it is a 3-7, so at least half of the Drongos have already leveled out of it. I have played and GMed it, but would be very willing to GM it again (once some of the other games finish -- or I could bow out of that one).

re: Siege of Serpents. 1-2 or 3-4 would be fine... will probably be easier to muster a table at those tiers than higher level.

@PapaSteve -- what about playing Siege with Pooka? What level is he now?

Slave Master's Mirror could be run with the Drongos minus Lort and Cyrus. That would allow the others a little XP to help them catch up. I've got a decent Lort replacement (divine spells + martial prowess) in my barbarian / inquisitor, Haafiz (level 7).

Alternatively, we could play it with a different raft of characters.

Also, not to go crazy (but to totally go crazy) we still need to work on getting our Alts through the First Steps (3 parter, XP only for the first one) / Wounded Wisp / Confirmation block and then into some Season 7 low level scenarios.

So, yeah, add that to the pending list?

No idea how I forgot about that... yikes!

Reign of Winter - Misfits - GM Damo
Temple of Enlightenment - Slayers - GM Silbeg
Wounded Wisp - New group with MN crew - GM Silbeg
Seige of Serpents - Everyone who didn't make it to Gen Con - GM Silbeg
Haunting of Hanojai - Occult Pregens - GM BobJones

Pending:

Wardstone Patrol - Bob's Beasts - GM BobJones
Enigma Vaults - Slayers - GM Silbeg
Technic Seige - Drongos (minus Lort/Cyrus, Plus Haafiz/Pooka) - GM Jyri
Slave Master's Mirror - Drongos (minus Lort/Cyrus, Plus Haafiz/Pooka) - GM Silbeg?
First Steps/Wounded Wisp/Confirmation - Alts - GM ??? (Maybe I will volunteer for this one, though I will need to slow down on my other games first...)

I think I am going to put this in our scenario planner... EDIT: ADDED Mostly because I will need to work out the timing for using Pooka.

Also, how would it work if technically we started wardstone patrol (with Pooka) and I have since then applied some chronicles to him? (WBG2, Snows of Summer, True Dragons) I am guessing I need to finish wardstone patrol, then apply those chronicles, right? He is technically level 3 in wardstone patrol, but once that is finished and all chronicles are applied, he will be level 5.X (which is good enough to get him into the games above)

Silbeg wrote:

Almost forgot to answer this question. See post above for his level. Problem with playing Siege (which I would LOVE to do) is that I already played it at GenCon, and I don't have any fancy GM Replay stars...

Bit o' bad news, so my work has some pretty tight internet filters, and I am now blocked from Paizo at work. That will inhibit my ability to run multiple games and stay current with multiple games, until I can find a hack.

I am going to cut back on extras, keep the core together, and I will get Wardstone back up and running next week for all who are interested.

Unexpectedly, we are headed out for a few days before my daughter starts up school, so light posting Thursday-Saturday, Sunday back to normal.

Bummer!

If your work computer has wireless, tether it to your phone. :-)

As for Pooka and Wardstone, I would consider that a "non-starter" Steve, meaning you don't apply it to Pooka afterwards... and unless you play it with Pooka at level 5, you don't apply it at all.

So, guys, an update on something else that's been going on in the PbP World:

While at GenCon, Painlord (Rand, for he had manifested in a mortal shell), convinced Jack, Steve, Chris and I that it would be a good thing for our overall play experience to expand the number of people we PbP with. We also had already agreed that it was a good thing to bring along new, enthusiastic players to the game (John being prime reasons numbered one through four).

Anyway, achieving this would involve "not keeping the band together" for at least one extra game. Painlord expressed interest in joining such a crew (so as to play with different people himself) and my mind went into marinate mode.

So, despite not wishing to cause offense to the rest of our PbP Superstars, those who went to GenCon detached from the Zedroom and assembled a crew of players who had never played with us before: 2 experienced PbPers from the con (Painlord and pH unbalanced), one experienced PbPer who was well known to Painlord (GM Bold Strider) and two friends who were at GenCon and became convinced by our (and especially Steve's) PbP spruiking (Marc and Ryan).

Yep, 8 players. Who's the GM? Muggins here.

So, I mostly just wanted to let you guys who aren't involved know what was happening, and that we still love you very much. We just want to see other people as well. That's cool isn't it?

By the way, it's here if you want to read along:

Isle of Dread

Have fun all you GenCon goers! I will check in from time to time to see what goes.

Reactivated Wardstone, so going to do much with it, but in case you had time and wanted to peruse.

Link to it.

I had PM'd Jason a month or two back, but got nothing from him, my fault for not keeping him informed. If he still wants in, I believe Jack has already played, maybe Jyri?

After I get an interest check from the group, I can open up recruitment.

Pirate Rob may be interested in something short term. Impending baby doom stopped his long term commitments, but he may like a scenario.

If you're his reference all is good!

Only played with him in real life, but his posts are more than up to scratch.

Male Level 1 Human Commoner

Hey all, sorry for my lack of posting lately, I have real world, adult type stuff going on that is taking a lot of my time to get through. All of it seemed to start a week or two before gencon, but it's a bit calmer now, for the time being at least. I will do my best to get caught up on all of our disperate games. But, everyone please feel free to give me the old nudge where needed.

Sorry again!

Tethered - thumbs nose at work. Glad I uped my data in June.

Yay! Go data rates in the US. Your option would be so expensive in Australia.

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

What? Somewhere in the world with more expensive wireless than the US?

Waaaaaaaaaay more expensive (for data).

Sorry for the extended absence. Been at the beach by day, and no condition to post at night.

I'd be happier with your apology if it didn't make me so jealous. Glad you were having fun!

If you didn't know I will be running Wardstone Patrol, tier 3-4 ish. Any and all are welcome. Damien, Steve, and Chris NotLockwood are in, so I could use 3 more, or 1 more with a 4-party adjustment.

Liberty's Edge

Silbeg wrote:

Out of curiosity, how expensive is expensive?

For otherwise expensive country I think we have pretty cheap wireless costs. 19,80 EUR / month for unlimited 50Mbit 4G data; 29,80 for 100Mbit. 16,90 / 19,90 respectively if you agree to one-year contract.

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

Holy crap that is cheap, even assuming a 1.2 USD/EUR.

I pay something like $140 for two phones (with Sprint), for unlimited everything (and the 4G surcharge, per phone, of $10). Only reason I get unlimited data is that I am grandfathered in on the plan. And that is even with a 10-15% discount.

SIGH.

And I can't create a wifi hotspot with my phone without paying an ADDITIONAL $20 surcharge... per phone.

Similar plan in Australia, with just one phone and only 6 GB of data has come down significantly in price... to $195 / month. This is actually cheaper than it was when I left Australia, and that was when the AUD was worth more than the USD.

Anyway, still not great in Oz for mobile data.

Oh, and there's still a $10 / month surcharge if you want to be able to tether your phone.

So with PBP Gameday fast approaching, any thought on where the Drongos go next after we finish with the PreGens?

On an unrelated note, making a SAD Oracle/Paladin GM blob, using Herolab with my $80 worth of source books, and neither trait is found in them. Went down a bit of a rabbit hole last night looking for how to make them custom, and had no success.

Defender of the Society (Fighter, Society): You gain a +1 trait bonus to Armor Class when wearing medium or heavy armor.
irrepressible (Faith Trait) use Cha instead of Wis on will saves versus charm and compulsion

-sigh-

I pay ~ $220 US for 3 smart phones, regular phone, iPad, and 4 GB shared data. I also get a corporate discount.

I can make you the custom code for those traits if you like. Just tell me you still need them and it shall be done.

So, did we decide that I'll be running tier 3-4 for Siege of Serpents on the game day?

Just wanted to make sure before I set up the event.

Thanks!

Also, does anyone need me to run Serpents Rise?

YES

Playing it right now. But as always thank you! :)

Just in case Jack's memory is really screwed after all those maple bacon bourbons, I'm out for both of these. Reason? Jack ran them for me. Would I love to play them again? You bet your f*cking arse I would. Just can't.

Sigh, seems that my plaintive cries for what comes next are falling on deaf ears. The deadline for PbP 4 is August 23rd, 2015 @ 8 PM EDT US [UTC-4]. I would really like to get something on the books for the Drongos. We should be done with Haunting by Sept 19, the start date for PbP 4. I know that peoples cups are overfloeth with RoW, Haunting, Temple, and various side projects.

So if there is no place for the Drongos for PbP gameday, no worries. I think that I would still like to run something to be part of it, and possible get some cool boons to boot.

Basically I am asking if the Drongos are in or out.

Possible ideas for PbP 4:
Pathfinder Module: Cult of the Ebon Destroyers Tier 7-9
Pathfinder Module: No Response from Deepmar Tier 7-9
Next Tier 7-9 Season 7
Missing high tier from previous season

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

Oh, for sure, Gunari is in. A module would be great, or whatever. Actually, that might be ideal, since if the folks that were at ten con slow track, the others could catch up some.

FYI - Gunari is 8th, plus 1/2xp.

Older seasons include:
#4-03: The Golemworks Incident
#4-04: King of the Storval Stairs
#5–25: Vengeance at Sundered Crag
#3-04: The Kortos Envoy

#3-17: Red Harvest
#3-20: The Rats of Round Mountain—Part I: The Sundered Path
#3-24: The Golden Serpent
#2-03: The Rebel's Ransom
#2-04: Shadows Fall on Absalom
#2-06: The Heresy of Man—Part I: The First Heresy
#2-08: The Sarkorian Prophecy
#2-09: The Heresy of Man—Part III: Beneath Forgotten Sands
#2-16: The Flesh Collector

#36: Echoes of the Everwar—Part I: The Prisoner of Skull Hill , Part II, Part III Part IV
#56: The Jester's Fraud
#16: To Scale the Dragon
#20: King Xeros of Old Azlant
#28: Lyrics of Extinction

God I friggin' love the scenario planner!

Male Human Engineer/4 (ding!)

I know, its awesome isn't it!

I am down to start something with the Drongos - I mentioned above that I was planning on using Pooka in Cyrus' stead while others caught up, but if Pooka will be busy in Wardstone, then there really isn't any reason not to use Cyrus. I would also love a chance at some boons for PbP gameday.

If we are done with Wardstone by then, can I suggest Slave Master's Mirror? I will use Pooka for that. Could also do Technic Seige, which was noted as another strong possibility for the Drongos.

If there is a new 7-9 from season 7, that would be awesome too, I am digging on following through with the higher level storylines in the new season after being able to take part in the Gen Con Specials!

Male Halfling Bard/1

Certainly willing for Miro to get back into the thick of things (or sing about them from the sidelines). No real preference for me, as any of them sound like a good time with this group. Slave Master's Mirror would be good, if the timing was right.

Liberty's Edge

I'm fine with any of the scenarios John listed. If we play #5–25: Vengeance at Sundered Crag, I'd like to my swashbuckler in, since he's my Worldwound veteran :)

Heard that #4-03: The Golemworks Incident is nice and challenging. If we want to play the The Heresy of Man trilogy, I can GM the second part, and John the first and third.

And of course any season 7 scenarios are fine, too.
I could sign up Technic Siege to the pbp gameday, if everyone is still interested in playing it. We can later decide which order we play the scenarios. IIRC there's plenty of time to complete the games.

BTW, I've planning to implement an automatic "available scenario listing" to the Scenario planner, but I haven't just had time.

Oh I am sorry did my peanut butter just fall into my chocolate?

Jyri - If I ever meet Teemu Selänne, well you're my new favorite Finn now.

How about this

Technic Siege run by Jyri
Heresy of Man I John
Heresy of Man II Jyri
Heresy of Man III John

BUT we play the new season 7s when they are available. If I am correct, there is only 1 per month.

So it will probably look something like:

Haunting until end of August
New Season 7
Technic siege Start PBP 4 Mid September
New Season 7 or Heresy I
Heresy II October
New Season 7
Heresy III End of November

then we can plan holiday (Christmas for me, yeah Santa) after.

Chris and Jack want to play, Steve wants season 7 (and I agree there too), I was looking for a mod or long term, Jyri and I have a rotating schedule, with a possible guest spot or two open. I like it.

BUT I am only 1/7 of the Superstars. This plan seems to fit the 'wants' expressed by 5/7. Thoughts?

Perfect. Those 4 mixed in with season 7s sound just right. We'll have to play it by ear a little depending upon the level range of the season 7s that are released. 7-04 is a level 7-11, so we'll need 2 scenarios before that in order to catch Miro up.

As far as releases go... for season 6, 2 per month was usual. Not sure if that's changed in season 7 (but note that 2 are scheduled for release next month: http://paizo.com/pathfinderSocietyScenarios/season7).

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

I would love to play the series (don't get the chance to do that locally, since I cannot usually play three or four weeks in a row)!

But, check them as well to see if it makes more sense to play them in sequence (which I am guessing it does). We can always play the season 7 stuff later.

And, yes, two per month. Typically a 1-5 and something higher... so there will be 3-7s that we cannot play.

Oh, and for the Slayers' track... I forgot I was going to run WBG3... I can still do that, though I don't want to be GMing 4 games at once (Thornkeep 3, Wounded Wisp, WBG3, Siege) -- that seems a little much. (Then again, WBG3 is pretty light... and should be fast).

Ok, I give up.

HeroLab question:

I created a character a while ago, i.e. before I bought a bunch of data packages. When I open the Character .por, I do not see the options for the new data packages. If I create a new character, they are there.

So how do I keep the original character, but see the data packages that I have installed when I open the portfolio?

Menu...

Character > Configure Character

Then check on the new sourcebooks you have data packages for.

Okay, so I'm a sick freak. I have absolutely overloaded myself... and yet, I cannot resist the pull of PbP Gameday 4.

We have yet to start a game with our alts. I'd like for us to play the First Steps -> Wounded Wisp -> Confirmation set with them so that we can start playing tier 1-5 together again... and I can't help but want a GM boon for Gameday 4. Sigh.

Anyway, if I ran First Steps: In Service to Lore for the Gameday, who'd be up for it? I wouldn't run at anywhere near my usual speed, so I'd only run the one over Gameday, running the others afterwards (or, preferably, stepping aside so someone else can).

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

you know, I have never played that. I'd go for it.

Now, the question is, are we playing brand new characters, or could we use a character with a couple of xp?

I think the aim (originally) was to have brand new characters that only play together with the PbP superstars. Bugdip is my submission for that group, and I think it would be fun if we were all fresh-faced.

I might try to insert Bugdip in to First Steps from time to time, just to see how it goes.

... also, there is an evergreen scenario that is still legal for play and you haven't played it, Jack? Wow.

Dark Archive

Human (Minnesotan) Rules Lawyer 4, GM 5!

First Steps is season 3 -- before even I started!

Sounds good to me! I was considering running the alts down the road, but if we want to do it for the pbp game day, someone else will have to take it.

-Posted with Wayfinder

My cup over floweth, so no, and I have some characters that I dipped a level so I was going to GM blob them to 2 before I started them, so no, and I don't have any good ideas for a fresh faced level 1, so no.

But I can't really say no to this group so, YES. Just need to figure out what to play.

Good call on Miro needed to be level 7, so we need to tweak the line up. How do we do that?

And thank you for the Hero Lab help :) I hate it less less every day.
